Interesting to see the "villain" side of things here, because we can follow basically live as they themselves seem to discover that something seems really wrong with this place. At the start they clearly were wondering about a clone-theory, especially when contemplating what'd happen if they ran into the "other Gwen" at some point. Yet, at the end they realise that it's impossible for the same entity to exist twice here, due to the experiment they did with the old man. Now the question is: Was the old man that disappeared the original, or - my assumption - was he the cloned version? The way they talked about finding him makes it seem that they were looking for the original in order to get him to this Kowloon and see what'd happen to the clone version that they had in front of themselves.
