I do worry about this being only 13 episodes, I don't think there's enough time to make this into a Watanabe classic, and I do have concern how deep the villains motivations will be alongside chaarcters
that said it was a good episode just not what I wanted I guess but after thinking about it for a few days I think ill be good with episode 2 more now that I know what I'm getting into vs I guess maybe unfair expectations I had given his past works.

Yeah toonami has a weird thing where officially they aren't releasing Japanese audio with subs until a month later. But internet came in clutch with subs and the tv broadcast

2025-04-12 05:02:08 +0000 UTCI think the plot can be considered simple enough for 13. I am more concerned about characters being to flat comparatively. then again C&T second half did a large amount in 13 episodes so I am going to give this a chance at least.

Still tho Like Etagon or whatever that fools name was; the name is bigger than the true skill. But how C&T handled its all gives me more hope than his other works.

2025-04-11 23:44:44 +0000 UTCWell; Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champoo if I recognize the Wata-persons name correctly... One was to to long the other to short and both were 26 episodes roughly. So I never placed him high on the list in that regard. I only expect a few great characters... a drug episode; and a nebulus plot that might get 3 episodes of focus. I like Bebop and Champoo; so I'll probably like Lazarus also. But my expectations remain guarded.

2025-04-11 23:39:59 +0000 UTCI watched the first episode when it came out on Max or HBO or whatever it is now, and there were six audio tracks available, none of which were Japanese, so I had to watch it in English. The animation felt like I was watching something WB did for one of their DC shows... and it just didn't grab me. I'll probably watch it again to see if it takes.
