Zom 100 devoted an entire arc to it.

Did you think of checking out "Momentary Lily"? To me it seems like one of these wild cards right now, not many seemed to have it on their screen but the first episode was really - something different.

I'm here for the stories. I'm much more forgiving about visuals, especially when I consider the production process and its unknown constraints. The initial concept is fresh for me. I don't bash tropes because tropes become tropes because they resonate with people; otherwise, they die. They're how I got here in the first place. That said, sometimes I need a fresh concept to be the plot driver to keep my interest, and so far, this has that. But yes, what were they thinking with that opening theme? I usually ignore openers and endings that are repetitive as a cost of production, but this one just irritated me instantly. I can't even put it into words. There's not even anything in particular about it I can pick out. As soon as it started playing, I almost turned it off instead of skipping it for the assault on my ears.

The coloring is very good; could have been all dark, but it's quite vivid and distinctive. The character dynamic reminded me a bit of Black Lagoon (an ordinary Japanese salaryman joins a party of mercs/pirates), though that was a more serious show. It is interesting that Ulmandra was the sole focus of the ED in the first episode. I also wondered if they'll vary the ED, or if she'll be the main character of the three other generals or a romantic interest. This is the second isekai anime I've seen that used the evidently trendy (in Japan) term "power harassment" regarding a corporate setting (the first was related to Nu vs. the Seven Shades in Shadow Garden).

Having watched the first episode on my own - based on the positive descriptions here - I'm gonna wish everyone else a good time and as much enjoyment as possible with this show, because it ended up being a "skip" for me. The opening has bad visuals, a subpar song and is just overall boring. It also spoils an apparent "reveal" for one of the characters, though that one could've easily been guessed after just looking at the rest of the cast. The voice of the MC in the first half is terrible and very monotonous, but does get a lot better once he finds actual confidence. Basing the "exam" around finding and resolving a misunderstanding is a good choice, but the way it was executed (Nay Nay / No No No No No) felt like a first-draft-kinda pick to me - in the sense that this was the first thing the author thought up and he didn't bother trying to find more realistic ways to create and resolve misunderstandings. The salamander-girl is cute and her ditzyness makes her appealing, but she definitely fell for the MC too quickly for my taste - you usually get stuff like that in those run-of-the-mill bottom-tier harem series. The ending song was nice. Would be curious to know whether they change the visuals as episodes continue. (Kinda how we expected "Reincarnated as a Slime" to do it for the second half of the latest season, even though they never actually changed visuals for that one and only ever showed Shuna.) Overall, not enough positives to keep me interested for more. Might check ending visuals later on, but as it stands there are better anime out there to invest my time in. Still, can easily see how others might really vibe with the concept and execution of this show, so best wishes to those people and I hope they are thoroughly entertained by what's still to come.

I like how they managed the world building on the first episode with no misunderstandings.

I haven't even made it through the OP, and I'm calling it now: Maou-sama is secretly also a woman.

Gun Bunny

This is going to be interesting. :D

I thought the bar was a work-benefit of his new position. An enjoyable show, an isekai were they want to use the MCs work experience is a first for me.

What is the premise of this show? And how does it stand out from all of the other (generic) isekai shows?

Didrik Svahn

Very work positive show. The alchemist show was ok to.

Davlen

Highly recommended show... this premise is really novel and the execution is nice... one of the better ones :)
