The Do-Over Damsel Conquers the Dragon Emperor Episode 9 Live Reaction (Part 1)

split into two parts as I had to take care of something with my cat.

though this shows feels like a weird mix and match of serious and silly ideas I still oddly enjoy it despite my brain telling me I normally wouldn't

That's a different kind of thing. Genius tends to refer to one's ability to learn and create and children of that age can indeed do that. But what this girl displayed is the kind of thinking that children aren't capable of since the brain has simply not developed those skills just yet. It's the kind of layered thinking that doesn't come until later. Complex reasoning factoring in all kinds of things like rules, wants, life, other peoples needs and wants, etc, starts to come around age 11-12 for example. It's also around that age when they really start to develop themselves as an individual. But this damn 8 year old she talks like a 20 year old woman who seems mature for her age and has a lot of life experience. Not mature for an 8 year old's age, but mature for a 20 year old's age.

I mean there's some 10 year olds who have gone to harvard so some child geniuses do happen

When a lolicon is willing to stay with his loli wife after she's not really a loli anymore, that's true love. On a sidenote, I do love the protagonist's assertiveness. There's a nice push and pull dynamic with her where she brazen enough to go against anyone, but is also willing to be pushed into things. Basically she's reasonable and not just all-or-nothing. The 8 year old loli princess is a bit unbelievable though... the main girl traveled back in time, her being the way she is for her age makes a lot of sense in the context (and she's 12 here). But regular 8 year olds do not have the kind of thinking capability that's on display here, no matter how intelligent they are and no matter what experiences they've had in life (unless she's also a time traveler I guess, but I doubt that).
