Great episode indeed, Pham officially join our side. Also have you seen "Gate where JSDF fought" ? You mentioned you haven't had the itch from war and military in a while. If you haven't I highly recommended. It's an Isekai too. It aired back in 2015. I'd love to see a reaction to it, if you haven't it's definitely worth dip your toe and give the first episode a try

Great episode once more. I really like the emphasis on shadow and how Pham got from an assassin to a life savior and even a nurse bringing new life under ars.

Hmm how do you think ars is terrible? Here is an mc that not only always sticks to his values but even risks his own life for a Lord he barely even knew. He always finds the right words and that makes people love him. What makes you think of him as "terrible"?

Dennis Janssen

I don't count his father since he was taken by sickness and his death was also a requirement to give the MC an excuse to lead an army. They explain their logic, but that still means no named characters are ever in real danger. I think loss through fault and failure could make for interesting story material. That said, I'm also not so sure if I believe those stories about Alexander the Great. The winners tend to shape history in their favor. It's very likely that his greatness is greatly overstated. Not that he didn't accomplish something incredible because he did, but when it comes to history... if something seems too good, then it is too good.

OnePieceMan

Sad that the only thing that is holding back this series is the terrible mc :/, the rest of the characters are pretty solid and likable.

TheMonarch

Had Alexander the Great not had health issues and been forced to turn around he would have been undefeated in battle and continued to conquer the world. it's not plot armor it's strategy and they explain all their logic. plus the show started off with a massive loss with his father's death

I feel like the one thing this anime is lacking so far is setbacks. The MC seems to be on a steamroll claiming victory after victory. And he hasn't lost a single retainer, though if anyone were to die it's probably Pham. I do hope there's some actual stakes at some point... probably not this season. But a war anime does get kinda dull if all of the good guys have a magic plot shield.

OnePieceMan

Couran has had respect on Ars since he met him.

Courant better put some respect on Ars' name. He had no idea who Shadow was and could have been assassinated in the middle of the ambush, and Pham flipped him the bird and a mountain of cash. If he were adequately paranoid, he'd be worried that Ars could take him out whenever he wanted.
