Alicia's point was that imagining the desired end-state is not a plan. And in reality trying to brute force it can lead to worse outcomes, like a revolution that seizes power but has no idea how to govern when they get there. Liz's point was that you can't make a plan without a goal to work towards. And to extend that, just because something doesn't address 100% of the edge cases, that doesn't mean you shouldn't try.
