2024-10-09 20:41:49 +0000 UTCEmilia definitely trained a lot, like the entirety of the "Ice Brand Arts" (her using magic to create ice weapons) is completely new, but they also really nerfed her in the first season by making her seem like a traditional mage that stands back and just hurls magic at the enemy. See the "Frozen Bonds" movie and how she was moving and throwing hands in that movie, she seems like a whole different beast, but that was supposed to be her baseline. In the novel when she was fighting Peteleuse Finger she was gliding around on ice, outmaneuvering him and weaving in bone creaking palm strikes and dropkicks in-between her magic. So her being a competent melee combatant doesn't come out of nowhere in the novels.

2024-10-09 18:22:29 +0000 UTCThe death animations are really good for the TV version I wonder how hard the blu ray version will go, besides restoring the fanservice.. usually in season 1 and 2 the deaths were dumbed down.. About Reinhard fixing everything... as Beako stated.. he is an anomaly and fucks up every mana around him, making all others "useless" even if they could be necessary for the situation.. I mean many if not everyone can use mana in that world.. even Subaru could but unlike other isekai protags... he fucked himself up because he underestimated the mana flow and killed his "gate"... so Reinhard is an one man Army that can only be used for physical damage....
