A lot of what you say rings true, but, bottom line, to be a Seeker, and to make it as a Seeker, is not an easy road. And I think the relationships between Seekers are the hardest part.

2024-10-07 20:45:57 +0000 UTCDidn't expect it to go the way it did, but I'm pleasantly surprised. I do fully expect to see all 3 of the party members return though. The Chad will likely end up joining the guild later on. The gambling addict and skank will probably show up as smalltime villains. The reactions I dig as well. It's very much implied that none of it was easy, but it is still the best way to handle the situation. If he had let those 2 ex members go they would've gone on to hurt/damage other people with their own toxic behaviour. If they were sent to prison, well they'd have likely died. So enslaving them is actually the best way to handle that both prevents them from causing more harm to others while at the same time they don't have to die either. And also good that the MC's scumbag attitude didn't come from nowhere. Even in the first episode his father said to him that he wasn't a good guy. It's clear that in the world that's presented, there's no way to make it to the top while being a goody two shoes all the way through.
