junji ito is actually a sweetheart! it’s kind of a running joke that the greatest horror mangaka is a really happy wholesome guy and that miyazaki, who’s known for very nice beautiful stories with cute creatures, is a pessimistic dude with a constant “i’m so done with this shit” attitude

Those visuals, sound and this weird ass framerate of the whole thing gives me goosebumps ... I'm swinging back and forth between "I need to know where this leads us" and "Thank god it's over" ... God damn!

2024-09-30 20:56:09 +0000 UTCI read Uzumaki years ago and its still the only horror manga I've ever read, since I'm not really into horror. They've honestly done such a good job adapting it, even if its a little rushed (i think it should've had at least five or six eps). What's really good about Uzumaki to me is how it manages to be the right amount of weird, sometimes silly in some arcs, then surprises you with actually disturbing and terrifying moments.
