It makes sense, considering the fact that the 1 & a half hour premiere of "Re: Zero" is airing next Wednesday. I imagine the 2 series don't want to cannibalize each other.

Meaning that it was more just a thing to comfort her in her last moments. Especially how her parents did barely show up apparently. Also millions of house in Japan is abandoned in the country side. So that is probably why Aqua could go inside his old run down home without anyone there
