Added 2024-07-27 18:08:43 +0000 UTCmajor production issues this episode but I knew we'd run into them given behind the scenes rumblings. though I don't think it spells doom and gloom given how hard of a scene that is to animate but we should be open to more noticeable dips in the future. but I'm sure for many it'll be a surprise to see such a downgrade during the archery portion but luckily the main parts of the episode remain solid and those eyes were so creepy

Huh, didn't know much about the behind the scenes talk at all. That does make sense though, somehow this seems to be a thing with all Cloverworks done by this director...

2024-07-27 21:18:09 +0000 UTCwe know this is a struggling production since episode 1 with behind the scenes talk, and it's how little they blended the 3d during a 5 mins scene with the style of the 2d animation that highlights they are running short on time and it will be an ongoing issue. had this been a healthier production the 3d wopuld have looked more like it did at the start almost blended into the normal art style vs what they ended up doing which is basically what failure frame does every week. it was animated well but it was blended in horribly hence why there is clear production issues even without reading into the behind the scenes drama. but like I said I don't think it will completely crash and burn given the general look of the show hasn't dipped too much but we should expect more moments like this or worst as it goes on unless they strike lightning and pull through which currently it seems unlikely given rumblings. but it wont be a complete trainwreck imo

I personally very much doubt this was "production issues", especially considering the context of what was happening. I could be wrong, but them using CGI for something like this should be entirely expected. And the CGI was actually very good too! Still hate the CGI = bad stigma though but I doubt that will ever go away haha
