The "chunky or smooth" comment is referencing the fact that the word for red bean paste is 'anko'. The reason she can afford those traps is so painfully obvious, it doesn't bear mentioning 😮💨 The wrapping on the deer crackers is intentionally made to be edible for the safety of the deer. And yes, I've never identified so much with a character, either.
