That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 Episode 6 Live Reaction (FULL)

no video on the channel this week just not a lot to say that I haven't already but I did enjoy it! The title of next week makes it seem like things are popping off but I feel like there's a lot more convos before it does. I kinda get why it bothers people but I appreciate how much planning everyone is doing rather than it just being rushed into Rimuru bodying everyone

I was half asleep when I watched this yesterday, when the Pepsi colored oni walked in, I was thinking to myself. What's a "Fire Emblem" character doing here?

Yet thats the name of the game for this series. Its mostly political thus to be expected. Dont like it then just drop it. Also, you saying its been "the same people in the same room about the same subjects." is 100% wrong. Its been in different rooms with different people. Yes its been about Rimuru as hes the MC thus most talks will be about him, thats just common sense.

Ill never understand all this "hate" ppl are having considering One Piece does this as well yet ppl dont say anything about that. So if ppl can sit through off of that and still be happy, then this is nothing.

Despite kinda enjoying this episode, I can see where people are coming from, I think this is a bit TOO much especially since they are in the same setting. Also I know everything that is going on so that doesnt help for me anyway. That being said I am sad they didn't include Damrada also pulling the Glock on Glenda too. Hopefully all these people will shut up starting from next episode though, really ruins my enjoyment of the series a lot

I think one of the aspects that slows things down here is due to literary flaws in the source material. What we see in this season of slime is mostly non-dynamic, exposition-heavy world building. Since you did read the manga, you'll know that in the next 1 or 2 episodes Hinata will experience things that widen her perspective. That will be dynamic world building: The important characters are traveling through the world and experiencing new things, which serves to introduce the audience to these new things. Much of what we've had so far was instead just people talking about new aspects in order to introduce those to the viewer. There's a classical concept in entertainment, "Show, don't tell". Most viewers/readers can draw at least simple conclusions. You don't need to have a character explain that the Ice Cream Machine is broken, if you simply place an "out of order" sign on it. One of the best examples of "Show, don't tell" is the traveling scene from the movie Hot Fuzz. ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8dFK5nI1YA ) it has no dialogue, but the phone signal slowly weakens, the vehicles used become less and less modern. It perfectly clues us in that the character is moving to the remote countryside, without needing to explicitly say it. And that's the kinda stuff that Slime is not doing great at right now. It will most likely get better in the upcoming episodes, at least based on how the manga dealt with it.

Everything they established over these meetings outside the main event

Mini? What would be mini? Lol. Anyway it could wait an episode, although I expect something to happen next ep.

i think there will be mini pop offs but I see ep 8 or 9 being where it all pops off

Hmmm. I don't think the encounters foreshadowed will extend more than 2 episodes but that's just my opinion... Rimuru has to balance acceptance by the Church and the Western (human) Nations, and achieving his goal of a happy, comfortable life for everyone against just forcing the issue. ... The Rozzo family was introduced a bit early, or rather they gave tmi too early, imo. They are more important for what comes after the Church, but as you saw, they are connected to that too. Besides political maneuvering, there is economic maneuvering. To reiterate, this part of the series is the most political..... This episode also mirrors episodes in other seasons when they were enumerating who would be the players in any potential battles. Btw, the Kurenai are ogres who evolved from Hobgoblins party out of admiration of Benimaru. Apparently ogres are the next step in evolution. Last episode Glenda had a gun strapped to her leg during the meeting. Notice Damrada seemed to know about guns. I got the impression you missed a few things, like the introduction of Damrada, and the first indications of what the Eastern Empire is up to. That Empire is pretty secretive. They seemingly only interact with the outside world through trade cities, which was mentioned last week. They also mention the underground organization Cerberus..... The main themes of Slime haven't yet all be made plain. Most people would probably say, if I were to guess, that the story was about Rimuru, his development, and that of Tempest, and the world. That's true. But really a lot of the story is about the real world and its politics and economics, and what is the ideal society, and can that ideal be put into effect. Other people's goals conflict, not because of their motivations, which are remarkably similar, but because of their solutions.

I liked all the meetings in season 2, but 6 episodes of yapping with like 2 interesting scenes feels like a bit much. I did read the manga though, so maybe that's why it's so boring for me, since I know what they are talking about. I normally hate it when anime adaptations cut down a lot of novel material and skip on lore/explanation/world building and I wouldn't like it if they cut stuff out of those episodes, but it's been like 6 weeks now that they are talking with the same people in the same room about the same subjects.

just how localization is i dont have a problem with it. same way I prefer Joey Wheeler over Katsuya Jonouchi. it's also not up to CR, the names are localized based on how the official licensed manga and light novels have done it

FYI: The intended names for the two people introduced at the end of the episode are "Granbell" and "Mariabell", not Granville and Maribel. I'm guessing that the people in charge of the subtitles weren't given any material [audio or otherwise] to understand what these names are. It's especially obvious with Mariabell, because the voice actors actually do a good job of pronouncing the second "a" in her name. This is pretty much just another entry in the long line of crunchyroll translations that use incorrect names, similar to how they say "Luto" for the guild master in Tsukimichi, when his actual name is supposed to be "Root".
