a) Hoshina (the vice-captain) actually says that Kikoru is "Director Shinomiya's daughter". This most likely means that her father is still alive, otherwise he probably would've said "late-director Shinomya's daughter" instead. b) Yes, we know the people from the ending. They are part of the Kaiju-Cleanup-Crew that Kafka and Leno were working with in episodes 1 and 2. We have not seen the "new monster" among them before, though, so it probably managed to infiltrate the company after our boys went to take the exams.
