The worst thing about the art style in this is its somehow more generic than the original design, which I swear made the MC look older and more mature. Instead we got discount quasi-higschooler kid. Its a bit of whiplash for me with the direction they took it in and my headcanon of the character from the source material not meshing with the new look.

2024-04-28 04:39:11 +0000 UTCI have to agree... the eyes are a little much. But when I look at late 90s, early 2000s anime the eyes in The New Gate are pretty acceptable all of a sudden. XD I kinda like that the fox didn't turn into a waifu. So far the amount of fanservice was pretty moderate compared to other shows. XD
