Also liked the twist that the wizard boy is the little brother of the girl from S1. I was not expecting that and it helped answer a lot of questions that we had about the boy and his hatred for goblins. I liked how big of an impact it was on GS, too. Because he was about to connect with the boy that they both have older sisters. But GS learns that she died, and he realizes that he "killed" the older sister of someone else. Even though it wasn't entirely his fault. He still thinks he took the older sister of someone else, like the way the goblins took his sister away.

The action was excellent to see in EP 2. I was worried about how S2 looked, but I think I am warming up to it. But S1 had more shadows and was darker, while S2 seemed to be brighter. The troll was a bit rough to watch, again leaning into brighter colors. But liked the way GS defeated him. I was surprised, too, when Wizard Boy said he wouldn't acknowledge GS. The girl being tortured, I guess, doesn't fit the goblins' characters, but I think it was still effective in showing how evil they can be. Yes, the scene could have been more gruesome, but just thinking about being nailed down does send shivers down your spine. It's like thinking about chewing glass or getting a paper cut or something similar. You may not have that personal experience, but knowing the pain and how it can affect you gives off that reaction.

Happy to say I'm starting to warm up to the new artstyle.

The animations with the goblins looked fine and brutal but the troll was pretty rough and derpy. Torturing the girl wouldn't have made any sense for goblins to do.. they are evil but not stupid. Making her scream to spring a trap would make sense, but there was only a single goblin in there and no trap went off when dumbass busted down the door. She was still dressed as well, it would have made sense if they were using her to make more goblins, but just torturing her would just lead to her dying of blood loss and being useless. That was a bit inconsistent with what we've seen from the goblins before, even when they used the human shields in the final battle the girls were just tied to them, not nailed to them because they are still useful to the goblins.

In my opinion, it hits Goblin Slayer hard because he couldn't save someone else's older sister from goblins AND he is the one that 'killed' her. She was going to die due to the goblin poison be he still plunged a dagger into her and killed her even it was a mercy.

I believe that wizard moron actually managed to channel the collective stupid from that first party and condense it into one character, aside from the annoying character the animation for the combat was ok, not great but I miss the old art style and darker tone.

Kind of wish Wizard moron was swapped with his sister and he got stabbed in the neck instead.

The things I've noticed during first 7 minutes, your point about the production was on the spot, the Liden studios usually pretty good at simple things because their record mostly consistent with Slice of life, and the way they cut the battle scene is already proof that the studio having a little struggle trying to make it, not the way Silver fox handle stuff like combining CG and 3D rendering mixed with dark environment making the render were quite blend it perfectly. My point is that the way they handle it kinda ruined the impression of how the GS actually were, the only things that so noticable to me it's seems like they're trying to animated the whole things from ground up (which we all know it's quite headache to do) and failed to see the actual stuff that need to make this anime is the way what it's should be, something like proper conversation not rushing in into battle scene, taking time to actually pin-point which one is needed to be there and which one don't. The part that I'm intrigued was the way they kinda chicken out about the violence, especially with the hostage, yeah, the hostage..m.mmm remember first season? Yeah that's the real violence not this one 😂 The last scene where's GS having trick under his pocket kinda lack of impact, the way they represent those timing in the production doesn't leave the impression of ("oh hey, I'd never think that's gonna work!?") moment, like the episode 8th where GS using flour to blow up the whole room, I bet it's must been slipped out from director mind during the production. Not only that, the last part in bars, they don't leave you at the spot of on how the bratty kid actually feel at that moment, (I think it's probably they don't put the right background sound at the right moment) making me feel like, 'is this some sort of joke? No one cares' To sum's up, the second episode probably lack of impact due of pressure of internal studio because they don't have enough balls to actually push the boundaries what they're capable of, or probably because they're just don't want to have an allegations chasing after them just like how silver fox studio four years ago during first airing of the anime. Anyway, my faith still up for the anime, hoping the director would have stronger balls to actually push the limit and make their biggest hits of the year
