Just to clarify some things, the Dustiness is not really "the most important family to the kingdom" but they are really important to the region, as they basically control it. Darkness gets away with the whole slapping the princess because well.. they have a pre-established relationship. Darkness and Iris know each other and hold each other in high regard, that is why at the beginning of the meeting Iris says she´ll let the bad manners slip because she enjoys seeing Darkness so out of usual (the noble, well mannered always calm noble she knows). They basically have a great relationship. And to be fair, the guards also were caught off of guard with the slap and were drawing their swords. In regards of Darkness, I believe is quite in character, while we know her more deprived fantasies, she is actually quite a noble and kind person, plus she has a crush on kazuma. So her actions are actually a type of defending the people she loves, and not letting them be regarded as less they she thinks they are. This is a trend that you may notice with Megumin too, while she is the hyperactive explosion maniac, she also really cares for her friends, and will contain herself if that means not making a hard time for Darkness.

I think saying Yunyun is the "better crimson demon" is pretty debatable, tbh. I mean sure, she'd have more than 1 spell she casts... but Explosion is half the reason they've survived up until this point. I don't have enough opinion of Iris yet to compare her to Darkness but so far we're comparing bratty princess vs perverted crusader and I think the Crusader is more helpful, if hard to keep on the tracks...

2025-11-17 00:16:05 +0000 UTCOkay, so... I just wanna say that I have never watched Konosuba. This is my first time watching, alongside ya'll. ...After that display from Darkness with the princess. I know the Dustiness family is apparently like "the most important family to the kingdom"... but i'm starting to think she's held back a lot more than we ever knew. Is she actually royalty or royalty adjacent? There is NO shot you slap the Princess in the presence of her direct guardians and get away with it like that. Like, whaaaat?! Also, to everyones credit, they really were much more presentable and reasonable than usual. I had a feeling Aqua was going to be much more presentable since she is technically a goddess and does understand respect to an extent... (My one concern was that she would act better than the Princess becuz she is a goddess). But Megumin showing restraint in the face of the insults was pretty surprising. None more surprising than Darkness though... I thought this was going to be the classic "You all have to be reasonable!" followed by her making them all look like fools... but she wasn't just out of character she was an entirely different person in this episode.
