Pls no. There's so many channels doing English dub reactions and as a non-native speaker I have zero interest in that. I re-subscribed because I wanted to do a rewatch with the original Japanese VAs

2025-10-11 10:44:02 +0000 UTCLittle tidbit here to help easing in to the show: - Alchemists are basically scientists with power to reshape things. - general idea about Alchemist/Alchemy power: there are 3 main concept of alchemy "comprehension : understanding what it is made of (ex. Ed's arm made out of metals)" "decomposition : break down the component to its basis (ex. break down some part to its raw material(iron and other stuffs)" "reconstruction : rebuild new thing from those componants (ex. new blade on Ed's arm)" - ep 5 claim that Scar is an alchemist because he using alchemy but stop the process at "decomposition" (break down human body/wall/floor). So basicly he's only destroying but not recreating thing. - so most of the alchemists will specialize in one field so they can focus on studying that one thing but thay can be generalist like Ed and Al as well. - Col. Roy, the flame alchemist, specialized in things that involve "fire". His glove create a spark by snapping his fingers and using oxygen/hydrogen in the atmostphere to control the flame (hance the rain is his arc nemesis) - the lightning effect in this show usally represent the process and a flow of using alchemy power.

2025-10-02 22:38:17 +0000 UTCThe episode kind skims past the explanation but scar's powers r basically still normal alchemy. The steps of alchemy r understanding, deconstruction, and reconstruction. Scar stops at deconstruction which is why he destroys things he touches. The lightning is just how alchemy looks. U see the lightning when Ed uses alchemy too.
