Rascal Does Not Dream Season 2 Episode 7

This was so much more complex than we thought...

Just wanted to say that I’m really enjoying this series and I’m glad you are reacting to it.

I had a couple takeaways from this episode ya'll didn't mention that I thought would be fun to share! 1) Regarding Akagi still having her "power" to communicate with the other world's Akagi, I actually think the reason she can is because she still technically still HAS her Puberty Syndrome. This arc didn't end on her "getting over" her syndrome. It ended on her acknowledging that the only way to "Get over" it is to tough it out and live life until she can accept how she feels. Because of this she is "Accepting" that she should stay in her world, but still has the ability to communicate with the other Akagi. Under that theory, if either of the Akagi's (likely both at the same time becuz that feels right for supernatural theorem) "accept" themselves fully, the power would go away, presumably. 2) Ya'll mentioned that what Sakuta did at the party makes him out to look like he's still crazy and damaging his image. But to be honest, I think his choice to end that scene the way he did calls back to his lesson from Shoko. He wants to be a person who can learn to bring kindness to others who need it. On the surface, his choice seems to allow them to continue to live in the naive belief that puberty syndrome doesn't exist. But in reality, what he's actually doing is not digging up old wounds that made them suffer (This is showcased by the way that not just Akagi, but other people at the reunion clearly suffered over the aftermath of his situation - the most obvious one being the friend who mentioned the atmosphere originally). As far as he's concerned the middle school incident is over and done with and if they can all move on happy that their lives are separate from his now... than that's better overall. Akagi is the only one digging it up for her own reasons. So he focused on resolving it with her without forcing everyone else to suffer for "acknowledging it". And in a way, Akagi still got what she wanted. They did have to kind of acknowledge it (even if they didn't admit it)... they just also get to fall on back on the convenient excuse that it was a "magic trick" to feel good.
