Francis, our budgie is gone now too…
Went in to get it done at 2:30pm and had a moment for a while being unsure if she was just egg bound and got really anxious if we were making the wrong decision… Thought on it for a while but overall prognosis didn’t seem good and didn’t think costs would be worth it. Also taking into account what we knew about Birb and potential cause of the virus.
We did a necropsy just to be sure what her mass was and just got the call back on that. Said it was definitely not an egg but her gizzard enlarged, so there was definitely some ongoing infection and digestive issue going on. At least feel a bit more at ease for my conscience knowing it but feel sad… At least made the right decision. I just hope Matteo (our conure) will be ok and will be sure to get him checked for stuff whenever we can again next…
