Chapter 1: Marines

Naruto Uzumaki, who was once the strongest ninja in the Elemental Nation, stared in wonder at his small hands for what seemed like the hundredth time since his rebirth. In his past life, he had met his end fighting against the Otsutsuki clan alongside his dearest friend and former rival, Sasuke Uchiha.

Kawaki and Boruto, the sons of Uzumaki, had surpassed his skills and teamed up to confront the Otsutsuki god, who had taken on human form in order to continue his goal of consuming all existence in the Multiverse and uniting with everything.

"That guy must have gone crazy after becoming a god," Naruto thought as he watched his children, Boruto and Kawaki, fight Shibai Otsutsuki and actually gaining the advantage, while he and Sasuke faced off against the other Otsutsuki that had come into their realm.

It appears that there was a whole faction of those parasites, although not all possessed the same strength as Kaguya and Isshiki. Unfortunately, the adversary they faced was quite powerful. This Otsutsuki was a male, featuring a Byakugan in his left eye and a Rinnegan in his right.

As the extraterrestrial god approached their realm, he detected Shibai's energy. Once he arrived, the unfamiliar Otsutsuki quickly identified Shibai and decided to yield to him, taking on the role of his subordinate.

The battle against the latest Otsutsuki proceeded without major issues, since he had powers similar to those they had encountered before. Yet, he had one distinctive ability: the power to send any harm done to him back to the assailant. This was the reason Naruto found himself covered in blood, staring up at the grinning Otsutsuki.

"Father," Naruto listened to his daughter, Himawari Uzumaki, who had taken on the role of Kurama's new host. A wave of sadness and regret washed over him, as he had never intended for his fate to be inherited by her.

The blonde planned to bring Kurama to a location where his abilities wouldn't be exploited again, although his daughter would still have to live the life of a Jinchuriki, albeit with a likely better experience than his own.

Naruto observed as Himawari battled the Otsutsuki. She occasionally cast a glance in his direction, aware that she was searching for a chance to heal him, but the foe was preventing her from doing so.

The Hokage found himself questioning when he had become so weak that he required the protection of his own children. Summoning all his strength, he managed to rise to his feet, aware that given the extent of his bleeding, he wouldn't be able to endure for much longer.

"It seems this is the end for me," Naruto contemplated, yet a wave of resolve surged within him. "But I won't face this alone."

Naruto had gained some insight into the abilities of the Otsutsuki clan, finding them somewhat comparable to Daemon's powers. While Daemon can reflect damage back to the attacker, it seems that if there is no intent to kill, it might be possible to inflict harm. Additionally, if an attack is more of a sealing technique rather than a direct assault, it could also bypass the usual effects.

"Reaper Death Seal," Naruto murmured as he called forth the Shinigami, who appeared amused, seemingly surprised to be summoned for a second sealing involving his summoner. "Let's do this."

As Naruto spoke, memories of his life raced through his mind, both the joyful and the challenging moments. "I've had a fulfilling life, even if it wasn't perfect, especially in the early days; things improved significantly over time."

Naruto couldn't help but smirk as he reflected on his experiences with his wife Hinata and the other significant women in his life, including his wife's former mentor and teacher Kurenai, his sister-in-law Hanabi Hyuuga, as well as Shion, Ten Ten, Mei Terumi, Shizune, Samui, and the Inuzuka duo, Tsume and Hana.

The blonde Uzumaki reminisced about his moments with Kurenai. During their first intimate encounter, she felt remorse for being unfaithful to Hinata. However, after learning that Hinata accepted Naruto's relationships outside of their marriage, Kurenai gradually surrendered to her desires and fully indulged in their passion until she was completely spent.

The situation had reached a deadlock that would ultimately conclude once one of them exhausted their chakra.

Sasuke was assisting her by using his jutsu to divert the Otsutsuki's attention for as long as he could. The Uchiha employed a unique smoke bomb designed to obscure the vision of those with ocular abilities. With the Otsutsuki now unable to see, Naruto launched his assault.

With a fierce shout of 'Reaper Death Seal,' Naruto met his end while taking the Otsutsuki along with him. However, rather than ending up in the belly of the Shinigami, he found himself reborn in a different world.

In this alternate reality, instead of ninjas and samurai, the landscape is populated by marines and pirates. Naruto's parents were marines who tragically lost their lives battling against pirates.

"It feels as though I'm meant to be alone in this world," Naruto reflected sorrowfully while pushing his thirteen-year-old body to its limits in training. "But at least now, I'm not facing the same unjust hatred I once did."

Naruto had accepted long ago that he would not reunite with his family and friends in this lifetime. Although it was a difficult reality to accept, he persevered like a true shinobi.

The revived Uzumaki offered a heartfelt prayer to anyone who would hear, hoping that his sons would overcome Shibai, protect the Elemental Nation, and enjoy long, joyful lives.

The blonde surveyed his new surroundings, which were stunning and surrounded by mountains, rivers, and forests. It was the perfect environment for training and personal development.

Karate Island was a tranquil place where masters of various martial arts resided and honed their skills to achieve mastery in their respective disciplines.

"Naruto, have you finished your morning training yet?" inquired a Fishman clad in white karate attire with a black belt. "I could really use a sparring partner."

"Absolutely, let's get to it," Naruto said with a grin. He was more powerful than many of his peers, thanks to his incomplete mastery of his devil fruit abilities and his Haki.

Naruto and the Fishman faced off against each other, both grinning widely as they rushed in for a flurry of strikes. This was just another typical day on Karate Island.

Karate Island is a land inhabited by some of the best martial artists in the world, attracting individuals from across the globe who come to perfect their abilities, ranging from boxing to Fishman karate, and even the six powers known as Rokushiki utilized by the marines.

Fast Forward

Karate Island [Forest]

"I can't help but question why I struggle to harness this power," Naruto remarked, as he found himself in a secluded forest, far from any people, surrounded only by enormous creatures and monsters. He was there to practice his devil fruit abilities.

Naruto realized, based on his experiences with the island's inhabitants who possessed devil fruit powers, that he had a Zoan-type devil fruit, granting him the abilities of an oni, or demon. Although there was limited information available about this fruit, Naruto speculated that it was likely similar to other Zoan fruits that allow users to transform into animals like dogs, cats, or mice.

"It's quite ironic that I've become the very thing I once dreaded in my youth," Naruto said quietly, reflecting on how he had acquired the Devil Fruit by mere coincidence.

One day while fishing, he noticed a strange fruit bobbing in the ocean. His curiosity piqued, he leaped in and retrieved it. It appeared to be tasty, so true to his Uzumaki nature, he devoured it in a single bite, only to immediately regret it and attempt to vomit it back up because it tasted terrible.

Fortunately, he avoided returning to the ocean that day, as he would have sunk like a stone due to the effects of the devil fruit. It was only later, during a sparring session with a master of the long legs tribe's martial arts, that he unintentionally uncovered his abilities.

The man's name was Andy. He was a middle-aged individual with brown hair and eyes. He might have appeared like an ordinary man, except for his notably long legs, which were a distinctive feature of his race.

The fighter was so powerful that Naruto ended up with a broken arm after trying to block a kick. The pain and rage surged within him, fueling his strength. Before he realized what had happened, he found himself in the hospital, lying next to the battered master of the Long Leg tribe.

Naruto would eventually discover that he had inadvertently attacked Andy, but fortunately, there were others present who stepped in to subdue the Uzumaki and render him unconscious.

"Here we go," Naruto muttered under his breath as he activated his devil fruit powers. He began to change gradually, having removed his clothes beforehand, leaving him in just his boxers, aware that his size increase would rip them apart.

Naruto's skin took on a bluish-black hue, and he developed horns. His teeth elongated and became sharper, with his canines lengthening and curving upwards. Intricate, tattoo-like patterns appeared on his skin. By the conclusion of this transformation, the blonde had transformed completely, resembling a fearsome demon warrior rather than his usual self.

Argg Aarrgg Arrrgg

Naruto let out a fierce roar, startling the surrounding wildlife into a panicked retreat. He then charged at a nearby tree and effortlessly brought it down with a powerful swipe of his clawed hand.

Just a few minutes later, the transformation would wear off due to Naruto's depleted stamina, leaving him exhausted and frustrated on the ground.

"Why can't I manage it?" Naruto muttered. He was able to use his hybrid form without any issues, but when he attempted to fully transform, it felt as if the power had a will of its own and seized control.

"Ugh, I suppose I should just be patient for now and focus on improving my Haki," Naruto said as he stood up. "It would really help if I could find a method to control my devil fruit as well."

Truthfully, Naruto's complete oni transformation, where he loses control, brings to mind his tailed beast abilities from when he was a ninja alongside Kurama, who attempted to dominate his mind. However, does the devil fruit possess its own consciousness or life force? And what methods does he use to regain control over it?

Fast Forward

Naruto glanced at the Marine recruiter who had arrived on the island searching for individuals to enlist as marines. The blonde aspired to follow in his parents' footsteps and join the Marine Corps, driven by a desire to utilize his abilities to safeguard those who are defenseless.

"Anyone interested in enlisting in the Marines, come forward!" announced a man with striking purple hair and a muscular physique, dressed in a Marine uniform adorned with numerous medals, indicating his distinguished service beyond just being a foot soldier. "I am Marine instructor Zephyr, and regardless of your current strength, I will transform you into a commendable Marine if you choose to sign up."

The other which was about five unremarkable marines were setting up and table with forms to register anyone who want to be a Marine, soon a crown formed with Zephyr sitting at the table with the other Marines at both sides of the table standing guard.

Naruto eagerly approached the line of aspiring recruits in front of the marines. Among them, he spotted Jerry, a towering figure who stood over 20 feet tall, with white hair, a beard, and a black mustache. Naruto had a feeling that Jerry had some giant heritage, and he noticed that he was practicing boxing.

"What are you doing here, shorty?" Jerry sneered, glancing down at Naruto. "Becoming a marine is meant for tough guys like me."

"You may be taller, but you're still weaker than I am," Naruto remarked, rolling his eyes. "Honestly, you're not even that good at boxing."

Jerry sneered at Naruto and was ready to make a derogatory comment, but he noticed that the Marine recruiter was watching their exchange with keen interest.

"Looks like we have some enthusiastic potential new members," Zephyr announced with a broad grin. "Why don't we have a match between the two of you to demonstrate your skills?"

"I have no problem showcasing my abilities by taking down this weakling," Jerry remarked with a cruel grin. He had always had a disdain for Naruto and was pleased to demonstrate his superiority in front of the Marine.

"I'm ready for whatever you've got," Naruto remarked, matching Jerry's sinister stare with one of his own. The resurrected shinobi had never been fond of the man, who was full of himself and believed he was the top boxer on the island.

Fast Forward

Zephyr grinned broadly as he observed Naruto towering over the defeated and unconscious Jerry. The skirmish, if it could even be termed that, lasted no longer than ten seconds.

The moment the sparring session began, Jerry charged towards Naruto with intensity, adopting a boxing stance. He initiated his first strike with a right hook, only to realize he had hit an afterimage. In that instant, the real Naruto emerged from behind him and delivered a powerful, precisely aimed kick to the taller man's head, causing him to fall to the ground, knocked out.

"That was dull, but you've got some skills, kid," Zephyr remarked with a smile. "How about joining my exclusive training program? It's for those I believe have the potential to become the best. What do you think?"

Without hesitation, Naruto responded, "I'm prepared to begin training whenever you're ready, sir." He concluded his statement with a show of respect, now that he had joined the ranks as a new recruit.

Zephyr chuckled at how awkward Naruto sounded in his display of respect. He recognized that Naruto was the kind of person who learned through experience and, like him and Garp, he could be a bit of a loudmouthed fool.

"From this point forward, things are going to get exciting," Zephyr remarked while he continued to bring in new recruits. Eventually, Jerry woke up and decided to join, casting a spiteful glare at Naruto throughout the process.

This marked the start of Naruto's journey as a Marine. His determination to safeguard the vulnerable remained unchanged, even in his new life, but he would come to realize that the world is not simply divided into good and evil.
