Chapter 1: Invincible
The Boyz Universe
Naruto Uzumaki stared at the smart phone as he observed the interview with the top seven superhero team, and he couldn't help but shake his head at the nonsense they were spouting.
Homelander claimed that he was an extraterrestrial being dispatched to Earth with the mission of safeguarding the planet, rather than being a product of a laboratory experiment that had been endowed with excessive abilities.
Queen Meave claims she was born on an island inhabited solely by women, where the gods watch over them and bestow powers upon her. This nearly made Naruto chuckle.
Each of the seven provided elaborate fictional backstories, but Naruto understood the reality: they were all merely test tube creations enhanced by a miraculous substance known as compound V.
"Who am I to judge?" Naruto murmured while gliding above the streets of New York, demonstrating his own superhuman abilities. "But do they really have to be so cheesy?"
Naruto Uzumaki, once the revered savior of the shinobi world, has taken on a new identity as Invincible. Despite being one of the most powerful heroes around, he was never extended an invitation to join the elite Seven. It wasn't until he uncovered the dark truths about these so-called heroes, as well as all those operating under the influence of Vought International, that he began to understand the reasons behind his exclusion.
Flashback Scene Ahead
Naruto had always been brought up by caring parents who worked for Vought, although they never disclosed the specifics of their jobs. Throughout his childhood, he experienced a typical upbringing until his powers manifested when he turned thirteen.
Naruto's mother, a middle-aged Asian woman with short dark hair and eyes, was speaking with Naruto's father, a Caucasian man with dark hair that had gray streaks and a mustache, when they took Naruto aside for a conversation.
So, here they were in the kitchen, the place where the family typically gathered to eat and converse, but now an uneasy silence filled the air. Naruto sensed that something was different, and he recognized it was due to his newfound abilities.
"Naruto, as you know, we aren't your biological parents," Debra, Naruto's mother, said gently before hastily continuing, "but we care for you deeply, regardless of our blood ties. However, there are some important things we need to discuss with you."
With a deep sigh, Nolan, Naruto's father, gazed up at the ceiling as if seeking the right words from the air. "Well, to start off, your mother works as a scientist at Vought, and I am part of a special security team."
Debra continued from where Nolan left off, saying, "I can't have kids because of an incident in my past with a hero." The Asian woman appeared sorrowful as she spoke. Nolan grasped her hand, while Naruto moved across the table to give her a gentle hug, being careful not to use any of his newfound strength.
Debra initially felt tense from the contact, but she soon relaxed when she sensed Naruto regulating his strength to avoid hurting her. She offered a grateful smile to the two important men in her life before continuing her conversation.
Debra said, "The CEO of Vought approached me with a plan; he wanted me to look after a unique child, and he promised to cover all the expenses needed to raise you like an ordinary boy." She glanced at Naruto, trying to gauge his response, but his expression remained neutral. Unsure if that was a positive sign, she gently ran her fingers through his hair while Nolan continued the conversation.
"I was tasked with keeping both of you safe in case anyone posed a danger to you," Nolan explained. "However, I eventually fell in love with your mother, and we went off the grid, altering our looks and identities to stay under Vought's radar." This made Naruto lift an eyebrow, as he couldn't recall any of these events. "You were just three years old back then, so it's not surprising that you wouldn't remember how we appeared or our name changes."
"Why are you bringing this up now?" Naruto inquired, aware that he was adopted due to his appearance being so different from his parents, but he had no knowledge of his ties to Vought.
"Your powers coming to light has placed us in a tough spot," Debra said, her expression a mix of sadness and frustration—not directed at Naruto, but at the circumstances. "We were hoping you wouldn't have any abilities, but I suppose that was just a hopeful fantasy."
"You need to realize that Vought invested a significant amount of money in creating you, so they will go to great lengths to retrieve you. It's crucial that you are cautious with how you utilize your abilities," Nolan said, stepping in for his wife. He was aware of her fears regarding what Vought might do to their son if they located him.
"I was made by Vought, and if they found out my location, they would come for me," Naruto said, not as a question but with a growing understanding. "So, Vought has the capability to produce individuals with abilities."
This thought crossed Naruto's mind as he reflected on his circumstances: "Do all individuals with abilities originate from Vought, including the villains?" he inquired of his parent, who appeared increasingly uneasy.
Debra sighed and said, "Sometimes, your intelligence can be a double-edged sword." She had intended to protect Naruto by withholding certain information. "Indeed, Vought is the entity behind all individuals with abilities; every superhuman derives their powers from compound V."
Debra took a moment to collect her thoughts and said, "Vought is a pharmaceutical company, not one focused on superheroes. However, since the public is drawn to heroes and villains, they've created these characters to capitalize on that interest, allowing them to profit from the hype."
"Are you saying that all the conflicts among the heroes are staged and that Vought is behind it all, including the destruction and the casualties?" Naruto inquired, already suspecting the truth. "Are the heroes aware of this?"
"While some individuals are aware of certain villains associated with Vought, or at least have an inkling that Vought might not be entirely genuine, I seriously doubt that many are informed about Compound V. It remains Vought's most closely guarded secret," Nolan replied, understanding that Compound V was the key to Vought's power and that they protected it more fiercely than anything else.
"Many heroes are simply performers who possess abilities they don't fully comprehend," Debra remarked, her expression vacant. "They're essentially like monkeys wielding firearms."
"You might be wondering why we're sharing this with you," Nolan said, locking eyes with his son. "The truth is, we know you, Naruto, and we understand your desire to be a hero. We can't stop you now that you possess these powers, but it's important for you to realize what lies ahead. With your abilities, you have the potential to make a significant impact on the world—either positively or negatively. You could end up like those reckless individuals who claim to be heroes."
"I get it," Naruto whispered, truly comprehending their message. His parents were attempting to show him that becoming a hero would alter his life completely, placing immense responsibilities upon him. "However, I’m not destined for an ordinary existence; I will be a hero dedicated to saving and aiding others."
Nolan and Debra exchanged a knowing look and sighed, aware that Naruto would respond in that manner. They had wished he would choose a more ordinary life. Now, they faced a difficult decision: they needed to create some distance between themselves and Naruto for their own safety, as well as that of their other son, Mark. They understood that Vought was still searching for them and wouldn't hesitate to exploit Mark or anyone else to reach Naruto.
Flashback Scene End
"Ugh, why do the heroes in this world have to be such jerks?" Naruto exclaimed. Like many other kids, he aspired to be part of the Seven, a superhero team made up of the most powerful heroes. This dream persisted even after he discovered the truth about Compound V and that most of the villains were manipulated by Vought.
It became clear that Vought wasn't the sole organization developing superhumans; other governments also had their own superhuman initiatives. Some had their variations of Compound V, which, in certain instances, were unstable and less effective, resulting in either feeble or unpredictable abilities.
Naruto recalled a fight he had with a guy who could turn his flatulence into a weapon. He was essentially like a skunk, but his gas was so poisonous that it could actually dissolve flesh.
After discovering the reality behind Vought and the heroes, Naruto remained determined to become a hero, just as he had envisioned in his dreams of being Naruto Uzumaki. However, he recognized the necessity of training to avoid becoming a burden, and he also realized the importance of adopting a secret identity.
Naruto thought to himself, "I can't help but think about how my parents and Mark are holding up." Now at twenty years old and having been a hero for three years, he reflected on how his parents had changed their identities and disappeared during that time. "I get why they made those choices to protect themselves, but this whole situation is really frustrating."
Nolan assisted him in his training to the best of his ability, and combined with the recollections from his previous life as a ninja, he was able to effectively understand and manage his powers.
Naruto discovered that he possessed incredible strength, speed, durability, a healing factor, and the ability to fly—a revelation that caught him off guard. While attempting to leap onto rooftops, he found himself soaring in the air instead. It took him nearly thirty minutes to figure out how to safely land.
"Good times," Naruto mused with a laugh, recalling the enjoyment he had while learning to fly, and then his thoughts drifted to his first moment as a hero.
Flashback Scene Ahead
Brooklyn
Night

At seventeen, soon to be eighteen, Naruto dons a custom hero costume he designed for himself. The outfit features a sleek black and blue bodysuit, complemented by a mask that conceals most of his face, leaving only his mouth and hair visible. The overall look is reminiscent of the character Invincible from Image Comics, showcasing a bold and dynamic style.
"What should I do?" Naruto inquired as he soared through the city, looking for a heroic act. Everything seemed peaceful until he suddenly heard an explosion.
BOOM

Not too far ahead, Naruto spotted a structure engulfed in flames where the explosion had occurred. He propelled himself forward at maximum speed, generating a sonic boom that shattered nearby windows.
The revived Uzumaki bravely rushed into the flames without a moment's pause, rescuing everyone he encountered. The individuals he saved were taken aback to see him, yet immensely grateful, as they had no idea how they would escape the blazing structures without his help.
"Is there anyone unaccounted for?" Naruto inquired of the group of people he had rescued. "Is there anyone left inside the building?"
A white man with dark hair glanced around but didn't spot anyone. He turned to Naruto and said, "I believe Ms. Jones isn't here. She's the eccentric cat lady who rarely leaves her apartment and is obsessed with her three cats. She could still be inside," he remarked with a frown.
Upon hearing this, Naruto glanced at the engulfed building, contemplating whether the woman might still be alive and if he should return inside. However, the new hero shook his head and took to the skies; regardless of her fate, he couldn't allow her remains to be consumed by the flames.
"Is anyone here?" Naruto called out, scanning the area frantically. With each passing moment without finding the woman, his fear grew that she might be in grave danger, or worse. "Hello, please respond if you can hear me!"
Naruto initially couldn't hear anything, but then recalled the training he underwent with his father to sharpen his extraordinary senses. He concentrated on his hearing and detected the distant sound of cats meowing along with a faint heartbeat.
Without a moment's pause, the hero dashed forward at incredible speed, guided by his instincts to the source of the noise. He arrived at an apartment where the door was engulfed in flames. With a swift motion, Naruto yanked the door off its hinges and tossed it aside. Inside, he discovered an elderly woman, likely in her seventies or eighties, unconscious, probably due to the smoke; she must have been asleep when the fire broke out. Around her, three cats appeared to be desperately trying to rouse her, meowing and scratching at her in a frantic effort.

Naruto attempted to get closer to the woman, but the three cats faced him and hissed, signaling him to keep his distance. The Uzumaki grinned at the animals, appreciating their protective instincts for their owner. It was clear how much the woman loved them, and in return, the cats adored her as well.
"Take it easy, I promise I won't harm any of you," Naruto said as he walked towards them slowly. The cats, not comprehending his words, lunged at him with their claws and fangs, but his toughness meant their attack had no effect. "Now, let's get you all out of this place."
Naruto mentioned that as he held the elderly woman in his arms and bent down, the cats leaped onto him. He felt a sense of relief when they chose to jump onto their master instead, as he was unsure how he would have managed to carry all of them otherwise.
"Alright, let's do this," Naruto exclaimed as he jumped out of the woman's apartment window and landed on the streets where firefighters and paramedics had just arrived. "She needs assistance; I believe she breathed in a significant amount of smoke."
Naruto mentioned this to the paramedics as he observed a stunning dark-skinned woman alongside a white man. They promptly took the elderly woman and began their efforts without hesitation. Meanwhile, the woman’s cats, surprisingly calm, watched quietly as the paramedics attended to her.
The Uzumaki seized the opportunity to escape, but a charming young woman with vibrant orange-red hair, who was roughly his age and one of the people he had rescued, approached him. She had separated from her parents to pose a question to the blonde hero, prompting him to pause and turn his attention to her.

"Hold on a moment before you leave; can you share your name with us?" the young woman inquired, gazing at him with admiration.
Naruto, aware that revealing his true identity wasn't wise, chose to use the hero name he had been developing over the years. "Just call me Invincible," he said with a grin, causing the young woman to chuckle at the moniker.

"Don't you think it's a bit presumptuous to refer to yourself as invincible?" the dark-skinned paramedic remarked, having just finished caring for the elderly woman who appeared to be okay. She had caught part of the conversation between Naruto and the young woman. "By the way, I'm Rio Morales."
"I find it adorable that he chose that name for himself," the woman with the vibrant orange-red hair remarked with a friendly grin. "I'm Eve Wilkins, by the way, Mr. Invincible."
"It’s a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Morales, and you as well, Ms. Wilkins, but I should really be on my way," Naruto said before dashing off. The two women noticed his embarrassment from their playful teasing, which made them laugh at his response.
They didn't notice the arrival of other hero in particular a woman with short should length dark hair appeared, she looked around with narrowed eyes.

"What happened here? " the woman asked a civilian man who was awe strunk by see the famous hero.
"Well, Liberty a hero saved use from the fire but he is gone now," the man explain to the heroine who gave him a fake smile making the man blush "He managed to save everyone."
"That's nice, but did you catch his name?" Liberty inquired sweetly, causing the man to shake his head. However, Eve, who had been listening in, stepped forward.
Eve remarked, "He introduced himself as Invincible Ms. Liberty," while gazing at the female hero, who was the role model for every young woman, including herself.
Liberty couldn't help but stifle a laugh at the name. "Isn't he a bit full of himself?" the heroine remarked, causing Eve to chuckle since Ms. Morales had just expressed the same sentiment. "Anyway, I appreciate the info."
Liberty mentioned this before stepping away to find some privacy for a phone call with Stan Edgar, the CEO of Vought. She aimed to verify whether the new hero, Invincible, was under his supervision.
"Well, this is unexpected. I didn't think you'd actually call," Stan's voice came through the phone, flat and emotionless. "What do you need?"
"Did you really send out a new hero named Invincible?" Liberty inquired, her voice dripping with disdain as she addressed someone she considered beneath her.
"I haven't heard of him before," Edgar said coolly. He had grown accustomed to her racist behavior, and he was curious about the hero she mentioned. It might be a Vought asset, but he knew it was best not to share that information with these Nazis. "I'll check into it."
Liberty sensed that Edgar was keeping something from her, but she realized she couldn't compel him to share his secret. Additionally, she had reached her limit with their conversation, so she simply ended the call.
"Invincible, quite a bold name you’ve given yourself. Let's find out if you can actually live up to it," Liberty remarked as she sought out Eve again, hoping to gather more details about Invincible. She was curious to know if he was white, and if he truly embodied his name, she could potentially have some exceptional super children with him.
Fast Forward
Naruto returned home feeling joyful, having finally achieved his dream of becoming a hero. However, as he stepped inside, he was met with the somber expressions of his parents, their faces reflecting a mix of seriousness and sorrow.
"What’s going on? You look like you’ve seen a ghost," Naruto remarked as he glanced at the TV, where he saw footage of himself using his abilities to save people. It appeared someone had recorded him with their phone. "Oh man."
"Well, that's unfortunate," Nolan said again, attempting to ease the tension, but he understood they couldn't delay any longer. "We need to have a conversation."
Debra felt a few tears welling up as she prepared to share what was coming next, but it was necessary for the good of everyone involved. "We're going to be moving tomorrow, Naruto."
"What?" Naruto shouted in disbelief. "Is it because I was recorded using my abilities? But I had a mask on, so no one should recognize me!"
"What your mother means to convey is that we are relocating, but you will be staying here," Nolan said with a mixture of firmness and sadness. "Before you respond, let me clarify that we’re not truly leaving you behind; we’ll still keep in touch through calls and letters. However, since you’ve made your situation public, it's best for all of us to part ways."
Naruto was determined to oppose the notion, yet he understood that it was the right decision at this time. He realized that exposing Vought and other threats could put him and his family at risk, as they lacked the abilities to protect themselves. Therefore, the wisest option was for them to leave.
"We're going to miss you," Debra said, wrapping her arms around Naruto as Nolan joined the embrace. They were unaware of Mark standing on the second floor, watching them with a heavy heart. Later on, Naruto would have a conversation with him, along with their parents, to help him understand why things had to be this way.
Flashback Scene End
That was the final night Naruto shared with his family. They had honored their promise by communicating through calls and letters, but the calls were always less than a minute long to avoid detection, and the letters lacked a return address or any hints about their location.
Naruto felt sorrowful about the situation, but he persevered. The memories of his previous life as an orphan helped him cope with the absence of his parents, making it more manageable.
The blonde Uzumaki dedicated himself to his studies and his journey as a hero, achieving such remarkable success that he was informally recognized as the top hero not just in America, but globally. After completing his university education, he went on to pursue a career as a therapist.
Life was more complicated now without his family, and being a hero, he knew that heroes like the Seven didn't like him for stealing the spotlight, but he did not care. If they came after him, he would show them his power because he is Invincible.
