Chapter 5: Tutoring

Sunnydale High

Naruto observed with amusement as the cheerleading squad at Sunnydale High let out frustrated groans while facing the unexpected quiz he had prepared for them. This wasn't part of his usual curriculum; rather, it was initiated at the request of head cheerleader Cordelia Chase. He had organized an after-school tutoring session specifically for students who were struggling, and coincidentally, only the cheerleading squad showed up for it.

Naruto thought to himself, "Cordelia must be quite intimidating; she has likely frightened everyone off from showing up." He was aware of the young woman's reputation as the queen bee of the high school, wielding more power than she should. He suspected that either she or a member of the cheerleading squad might be involved with the principal and vice principal, granting them total control. "It seems like that cheer squad is likely using blackmail while also keeping them quiet through their relationships," he mused.

"Mr. Uzumaki, can we please switch to something else? This test is really stressing me out," Naruto said, glancing at Harmony Kendall, a stunning blonde who rivaled Cordelia in beauty.

"Absolutely not," Naruto said resolutely, causing Harmony to sulk and give him an adorable puppy dog expression. While it might have swayed someone weaker, it wouldn't affect Naruto Uzumaki. "You can quit with that expression; it's not going to change my mind. Plus, this test is simply to check if you've actually been paying attention while I was teaching you."

Naruto found himself entertained by the various pained groans coming from the other cheerleading squad. When he glanced over, he recognized a familiar vampire slayer who was part of the team. Her academic performance was poor, and after her mother discovered the free tutoring program, she insisted that her daughter participate.

The Uzumaki looked over at the cheerleading team members. Joy, who used to lead the squad before Cordelia took over, is an attractive brunette. Like many in the group, she can be quite unfriendly and somewhat withdrawn, although she performs well in her studies. She came to the after school tutoring session with the squad to avoid feeling left out.

Next, we have the stunning Lishanne Davis, whose dark beauty stands out. She is a lively young woman, exhibiting a bit more respect and friendliness compared to most of the squad, though not by a significant margin. She can just as easily throw out an insult as she can greet someone warmly.

Next, there was Lisa, another attractive brunette who genuinely had a caring nature. However, because all her friends were notorious for being mean girls, no one was aware of her kind-heartedness.

Next, we have Michelle Blake, a blonde beauty who Naruto refers to as a "fake kind girl." She presents herself as friendly and easy to talk to, but she might actually be more problematic than many of the other women on the team.

Lastly, there's Lori, the latest addition to the team. She has brown hair and is just as attractive as the other members. From what Naruto has observed, she seems to be the most playful among them, currently casting glances at Buffy, who is doing her best to avoid her attention.

Naruto struggled to hold back his laughter at the moody, passive-aggressive teenagers. Despite their mutual dislike for one another, they all gathered on the cheerleading squad because of their desire for popularity.

All the girls were in heat, and he could sense their excitement, even Buffy, despite her attempts to conceal it. Naruto was confident that if he wanted to, he could easily win over all the girls within three months, even if he took his time and enjoyed the chase.

The most challenging conquest will be Buffy, but once he gets intimate with her, she'll become just as captivated by him as Faith was.

Naruto observed the interactions among the young women, noticing that Cordelia, who plays the role of the queen bee, is a self-centered individual. However, he could also perceive that there’s more to her than meets the eye.

Harmony is quite difficult to deal with; she's somewhat shallow and tends to be petty as well. She's a natural follower, so she has positioned herself as Cordelia's best friend.

Naruto chuckled to himself at the idea that these girls couldn't genuinely be friends with one another or anyone else, as they were too preoccupied with their own wants and needs. This made them more susceptible to manipulation, allowing him to mold them into his obedient followers.

Joy, the previous leader of the group, can be described in one word: unpredictable. Naruto could perceive that beneath her seemingly composed exterior lies a deeply resentful and furious individual, one who would go to extreme lengths, even resorting to violence, to achieve her objectives.

"Harmony, cut it out with the complaints and stop being such a nuisance," Joy snapped, glaring at the blonde cheerleader. "You're only making a fool of yourself."

"Go ahead and bite me, you jerk," Harmony shot back with a glare. She couldn't stand the woman and wished she would just get rid of that stick up her backside.

"Knock it off, you two," Lishanne sighed, clearly exasperated with the ongoing bickering among her squad members. "Just relax a bit."

"Come on, ladies, we're all friends, aren't we?" Lisa remarked anxiously. "There's really no reason for us to be at odds."

Michelle chuckled at the situation, saying, "Lisa, you can be so gullible at times; there's always a motive behind their arguments."

Lori couldn't help but chuckle at the exchanges happening around her, fully aware that things were bound to become even more amusing from this point on. That was until Naruto suddenly slammed his hands down on the desk, startling the girls and drawing their focus.

"That's enough; this isn't the time or place for your arguments. You all need to focus on finishing your quizzes, so get to work," Naruto stated firmly, locking eyes with each girl. Some, like Buffy, shot him a defiant glare, while others flushed with embarrassment.

Naruto noticed that a few of them seemed to have a thing for submission; he glanced at Cordelia and could almost sense the excitement emanating from her.

"Alright, it looks like it's official—everyone except Joy isn't meeting the required standards," Naruto announced to the classroom, directing his gaze at the young woman who at least showed some shame. "So, I'll need to start working with each of you individually based on your level and progress from there."

"Isn't it somewhat strange for a teacher to offer private lessons to a female student?" Buffy said skeptically, her expression showing doubt. Meanwhile, her teammates glared at her with frustration, as they were all excited about the possibility of Naruto being alone with them and the potential for something to develop between them.

"I'm really happy you asked that question, Ms. Summer," Naruto said, glancing at Buffy without skipping a beat. "The truth is, you currently have the lowest score out of everyone." This comment prompted laughter from the other cheerleaders at Buffy's expense. Although she felt embarrassed, Buffy maintained eye contact with Naruto. "I've already spoken with each of your parents, and they’ve consented to let me come over once a week to provide you with some extra help to catch up."

"What! You spoke to my mom?" Buffy gasped in disbelief, worried that Naruto had done something to her mother. "You need to keep your distance from her."

"Wow, Buffy, that's quite the reaction," Cordelia commented, taken aback by the Slayer's intense response. "Are you worried that Mr. Uzumaki is going to win over your sweet, innocent mom?"

The other cheerleaders found the joke funny, but Buffy appeared ready to hit Cordelia. Although the idea of that happening was somewhat entertaining, Naruto hoped it wouldn’t actually occur, as it could lead to serious consequences for Buffy.

"That's enough, you two," Naruto said with a stern expression, directing his gaze at the two young women who were glaring at each other. "Or should I assign both of you detention?"

Naruto captured the attention of both individuals, who were keen on avoiding detention. They understood that if they were assigned to detention, Naruto would ensure they attended every session until their punishment was complete.

The Incubus let out a breath of relief as Buffy and Cordelia looked away from each other, even though he caught Buffy muttering "bitch" under her breath and Cordelia referring to the Slayer as a "freak" quietly to herself.

"Listen up," Naruto said firmly, "you'll have one hour of class after school three times a week, and on weekends, I’ll visit two of you at home. Joy, you’re exempt from this, but the rest of you need to pass not just my class, but several others to move up to the next grade. So, it's time to get serious and hit the books."

All the girls sighed, but internally, a few of them entertained some rather naughty ideas about what they and Naruto might do during his visits to their homes. They began strategizing ways to ensure their families would be out of the house, hoping to turn their fantasies into reality.

Library

Naruto was seated at a table, flanked by Faith and Isabel, while Giles and Buffy sat across from him. The Slayer had thoughtfully decided to keep her two human friends out of the library for the time being.

The blonde guy figured that Buffy likely didn't inform her friend about this after-school meeting in order to protect them.

"Are you ready to have a civil conversation?" Naruto asked, looking at the two people in front of him. "Or do you want a repeat of what happens if you don't?"

"Yes, I believe we are," Giles said, forcing a nervous smile. He glanced at Isabel, recalling her previous actions toward him, and in response, she offered him a malicious grin that sent a shiver down the Watcher's spine. "It would be wise for us to understand the intentions of the others."

With a playful grin, Naruto said, "I just know you'll come around to my perspective eventually! It just took a little friendly sparring to get us to this point!"

Giles grimaced at the memory of the 'sparring' match. If that was what Naruto deemed sparring, they were fortunate he didn't allow his subordinate to engage them in a genuine fight.

"Stop with the nonsense," Buffy said sharply, clearly fed up with the antics. "What do you really want?"

The Slayer spoke with her mother, who confirmed that Naruto would be coming over to provide her with additional lessons. To her dismay, she attempted to convince her mother to reconsider, but her mother was adamant and even warned her that she would be grounded if she didn't comply with the blonde instructor.

“What do you mean by that?” Naruto inquired, putting on a feigned innocent expression. He enjoyed teasing the Slayer as a new hobby. “I’m just a typical high school teacher.”

At his remark, Faith and Isabel couldn't contain their laughter, as they imagined Naruto as an ordinary teacher rather than the formidable demon he truly is.

"Let's put a pin in that topic about your identity for the time being," Giles stated, recognizing that discussing it would lead to a dead end. "What brought you to Sunnydale? Is it because of the Hellmouth?"

Naruto gazed at Giles, who appeared to be just an ordinary librarian. However, the Incubus recognized that he posed a greater threat than Buffy, who was more like a blunt instrument. In contrast, the man was like a finely honed scalpel—sharp and exacting.

"Well, you could say that the Hellmouth is what brought me here, but not for the reasons you might think," Naruto remarked, glancing at Giles, whose expression shifted as he acknowledged that he had come partly due to the Hellmouth. "I’m actually laying low from some folks, and the Hellmouth makes for an excellent hiding spot."

"Who are you really trying to avoid?" Buffy inquired, one eyebrow raised. From her perspective, Naruto appeared to be powerful, and with Isabel and Faith by his side, he should be capable of facing most of the major threats.

"I’m avoiding my grandmother, mother, and sisters," Naruto said earnestly. The others in the room, including Faith and Isabel, exchanged incredulous glances, and then the Incubus erupted into laughter, which only served to irritate everyone else.

"Can't you just be serious for a moment?" Buffy exclaimed in exasperation, nearly convinced by the blonde jerk.

Naruto burst into even louder laughter as he glanced over at Giles, who was removing his glasses to clean them, likely out of exasperation. Meanwhile, Isabel and Faith sighed in annoyance, feeling deceived by their blonde partner.

"My apologies, but your expressions were just too amusing," Naruto said, turning to Buffy. "I have no bad intentions towards you or anyone else here, but let me be clear: if I or my friends are in danger, you can be sure there will be consequences."

"I get that, but you have to realize that a mysterious individual arriving in Sunnydale—the location of a hell mouth—alongside a vampire slayer who possesses unusual strength and a vampire who can walk in daylight is quite alarming," Giles stated with a serious tone. "The Watcher’s Council is in an uproar, and I had to exert all my effort to prevent them from dispatching their agents here to attempt to eliminate you all."

"That's really kind of you, but we both understand that if the Watcher Council sends their assassins here, I'll simply take them out and then focus on the Council itself," Naruto stated plainly, as if he hadn’t just suggested he would dismantle an ancient organization that had existed since the dawn of demons on Earth.

Giles let out a sigh, realizing that Naruto had a point. If a confrontation were to occur between Naruto, who possesses mysterious powers, and the council, it would likely result in significant loss of life, even if the council emerged victorious.

The two parties engaged in a discussion and ultimately reached an agreement to avoid interfering with each other. Naruto and his group agreed not to harm the residents of Sunnydale, except in cases of self-defense.

Giles winced at the headache pounding in his head while he observed Naruto's group departing. He hadn't gained any new insights about the blonde; although he suspected the joke about evading someone might hold some truth, he wasn't entirely convinced. Additionally, he was certain the Watcher Council had disregarded his warnings that sending their operatives would lead to disaster. All he could do was hope for a positive outcome, as he wanted to avoid another encounter with that deranged female vampire.

"By the way, Buffy, I'm coming over to your place next week to help you study, so no late-night vampire hunting," Naruto said as he was stepping out the door.

"What?" Buffy gasped in disbelief. "You can't just stop me! I need to go out and patrol, or a vampire or demon could hurt innocent people—or even worse!"

"Aw, B, you didn't remember me," Faith said to Buffy with a teasing grin. "I believe we can both agree that I can take your place while you focus on your grades, so no slaying until you're caught up."

Buffy stared at the departing group in disbelief and fury. She turned to Giles for support, but he responded with an expression of resignation.

"Why aren’t you speaking up?" Buffy asked furiously, directing her frustration at the watcher. "They can't just put me on the sidelines because of a poor grade, can they?"

"I'm sorry to inform you, but Naruto is right. I spoke with both the principal and your mother, and they have both decided that you need to raise your grades. As a result, there will be no late-night outings or slaying until that happens," Giles said with resignation. He had attempted to negotiate with Buffy's mother without revealing her secret identity as a slayer, but ultimately, she wouldn't budge. Consequently, Buffy was now officially restricted until her grades improved.

Buffy stared at Giles in disbelief, quickly snatched her bag, and rushed home to reason with her mother. Later that evening, she would recall that no matter what creature she confronted, her mother remained the most terrifying of them all.

With no options left to improve her grades, the Slayer let out a sigh as she relaxed in bed like any typical teenage girl. She sent a text to her friends to inform them about what had happened.

"At least Faith can take care of things," Buffy said with a hint of reluctance. The other slayer is a force to be reckoned with, capable of taking down any vampire or demon in no time. "I guess I should start studying," she added with a sigh.

Buffy glanced at her bedroom window, noticing the alarm system designed to notify her mother if she attempted to open it. The other exits in the house were similarly secured. Her mother was serious about this.

A/N: I considered including a lemon scene in this chapter but ultimately chose to hold off and take my time. Buffy is currently under strict supervision with Faith handling the slaying duties. How long will it be before the blonde slayer breaks, or can she improve her grades in time? Meanwhile, Naruto has started mingling with the cheerleading squad; how long will it be before he indulges in all that enticing allure? Lastly, what actions will the Watcher Council take, and what repercussions will follow?

I just wonder if she's going to crack or after Naruto has finished making the rest of the team her daughters?
