Chapter 1: Monster

Village Hidden In The Leaves

Haruna Residence

The village was in turmoil as ninjas hurried back and forth, desperately trying to find the murderer of the Haruno family. The family of three had been discovered lifeless, each surrounded by pools of their own blood, their bodies marked with deep wounds, revealing the brutal torture they endured before being ruthlessly killed.

"How could this be possible?" Ino Yamanaka, Sakura Haruno's childhood friend and rival, sobbed in her mother's embrace.

"I'm not sure, dear, but the murderer won't escape justice," the older woman remarked, equally stunned by the sheer violence of the killings.

Within the Haruno household, Inoichi Yamanaka, accompanied by several other ninjas, was examining the scene of the murders. His expression was somber and troubled as he looked at the disfigured bodies of the Haruno family.

Kizashi Haruno showed clear signs of brutal violence, with noticeable injuries on his face and body. He had suffered extreme trauma, including the horrifying mutilation of his genitals, which were forcefully inserted into his mouth. Additionally, he bore multiple incisions across his body, likely inflicted by a sharp weapon or wind-based chakra.

Mebuki Haruno was in no better shape; she too was beaten, with most of her teeth bashed out of her mouth and a broken jaw, while her arms and legs were tied together to keep her crotch exposed. From what Inoichi could see, the killer used something sharp to shove in and out of Mebuki's pussy, as indicated by the blood he saw between her legs. She was also covered in cuts.

Sakura appeared to have suffered the most among the Haruna family; her body was so badly damaged that she was hardly recognizable. The only feature that allowed them to identify her was her distinctive pink hair, a rare color in Konaha.

Sakura's limbs were shattered and twisted in unnatural positions, her tongue was severed and positioned beside her head, and her abdomen was slashed open with her intestines drawn out and coiled around her neck to suffocate her. It appears the murderer intended for her to be vulnerable and to suffer as she succumbed to strangulation.

A group of people assembled outside a house, where a specific blonde boy with whisker-like markings observed the turmoil with an expressionless demeanor. However, upon closer inspection, one could notice a subtle smirk playing on his lips.

A sinister voice echoed in the blonde boy's mind, chuckling menacingly, "You've really surpassed yourself this time, Naruto. Congratulations, my captor."

"I didn't do this for your admiration; they deserved it," Naruto thought to himself, frowning as he turned away from the situation.

The Haruna family was among those in the village who made his life miserable. Sakura frequently mocked and physically assaulted him, while Mebuki, who was part of the civilian council, actively shared his status as a Jinchuriki with others. Additionally, Kizashi, the head of the village vendors' association, and his associates took it upon themselves to sell him outdated and expired goods at exorbitant prices, occasionally even poisoning the food he purchased. It was only due to Kurama that he managed to survive.

Uchiha Clan District

"Ugh, the killer has struck once more," Ibiki Morino, Konoha's chief interrogator, said with frustration while standing alongside Anko and Inoichi at the home of the latest victim.

The individual who suffered was Sasuke Uchiha, the sole survivor of the Uchiha clan, aside from his treacherous brother who was responsible for the massacre of their entire family. The last of the Uchiha appeared to have attempted to defend himself against the assailant, but ultimately he was overpowered and received the same brutal treatment as the rest of his clan.

Sasuke's eyes were taken out and turned to mush alongside his charred body; it appeared that he was still alive during the removal process before being set on fire until his death.

"Wow, the person responsible for this must have had a deep-seated animosity toward the kid," Anko remarked, examining Sasuke's lifeless body with intrigue at the brutal manner of his demise.

"You've always been blunt, Anko, but this is serious. We need to apprehend whoever is behind this before they make another move," Ibiki said, his expression a mix of fear and resolve.

Inoichi paid no attention to the playful banter between Anko and Ibiki, who was clearly irritated by her teasing. Instead, he concentrated on uncovering a lead that could assist him in locating the killer, pondering the connection between Sasuke and the Haruna family.

"We're overlooking something," Inoichi remarked, capturing the attention of Anko and Ibiki. "I highly suspect these murders aren't coincidental; this individual harbors a deep-seated hatred. I believe they have a history of killing. We need to reassess the situation and approach it from a different perspective."

"Perhaps you're correct," Ibiki conceded, feeling uncertain since the perpetrator left no clues behind. It was likely the work of a skilled individual. "This person has certainly committed murder before; perhaps they are a ninja."

"You two are really reading too much into this," Anko said casually, glancing at the murderer who seemed to kill without reason. "It's likely just a ninja who lost it and is dealing with some pressure."

Ibiki and Inoichi maintained a calm expression as they listened to Anko's remarks. She had a point; while it wasn't typical, ninjas could indeed break under the immense stress of their lifestyle. However, such instances are usually addressed before any harm can occur. Typically, the affected individual would either have their memories erased and be reintegrated into the village or have their chakra sealed and be retired. In the rare cases where intervention fails, it often results in the execution of the ninja involved.

None of the individuals there noticed the blonde-haired boy as he walked by, observing the situation outside Sasuke's house.

In a somber tone, a village woman expressed her shock over the death of the last Uchiha clan member, questioning how such a tragedy could occur. However, it was clear that her primary concern was not the loss itself but rather the implications for her daughter’s future, hoping to secure a marriage or child with the deceased to gain access to the Uchiha clan's wealth.

It would take a considerable amount of time for a group of medical ninjas to remove the body of the final Uchiha in a body bag. Meanwhile, several women from the village were crying, while the men shouted at the ninjas responsible for the investigation, demanding they work harder to identify the murderer.

The blonde-haired boy observed Inoichi, Ibiki, and Anko leaving last, intrigued. The blonde man reminded him of one of his bothersome classmates, and a thought popped into the whiskered boy's head, prompting a broad smile to spread across his face.

Hokage Tower [Criminal Record Room]

Inoichi exclaimed in shock, "How did we overlook this?" as he stared at the reports detailing the deaths of more than 50 individuals who had perished in ways strikingly similar to those of the Haruna family and Sasuke.

"Oh, that's simple," Anko replied, lacking her typical arrogance. "It's likely that these individuals came from the red-light district; they were probably pimps, prostitutes, thieves, or any kind of lowlifes that most people wouldn't care about if they were to die."

"Yet, even if no one was concerned about their deaths, why did it not raise any eyebrows that so many individuals perished so tragically in such a brief period?" Inoichi pondered, perplexed by the lack of investigation into the numerous deaths. He had also come across reports of missing people that seemed to have been ignored.

"Individuals in the red light district often meet untimely ends, but I must admit I'm somewhat taken aback by the sheer number this time," Ibiki commented as he examined the file of a woman who had been brutally mutilated with wind chakra. The terrified man recognized the distinct clarity of the cuts. He picked up another file and discovered something unusual. "It seems that whoever committed these acts was honing their skills in wind chakra on their victims."

The three examined the documents, and according to the information, it was accurate that the initial victims had superficial wounds on their bodies. As the murderer improved their skill in wind manipulation, the injuries became deeper and more precise over time.

"At least we have established that we're searching for someone who possesses wind nature chakra," Anko remarked, still taken aback that anyone would exploit individuals for practicing elemental manipulation.

"We need to apprehend whoever is responsible for this," Inoichi declared with resolve, his gaze fixed on the victims, some of whom were as young as his own daughter. The murderer showed no regard for age or gender, committing heinous acts without remorse. "This individual is a true monster devoid of any conscience."

"I concur," Ibiki responded, having witnessed numerous atrocities and endured the harshness of life himself, as evidenced by his scarred face and head. However, this individual was twisted; they thrived on the suffering of others, and he understood that they would not cease their actions unless they were restrained or eliminated.

"However, we still lack any concrete information," Anko remarked, noting that all they had discovered was the individual's connection to wind nature, without any details regarding their age, gender, or any identifying characteristics.

"No, we've just discovered that this individual has been committing murders in the red light district for a while. It's possible that someone in that area has witnessed the perpetrator without realizing it," Inoichi said optimistically, aware that it was a long shot, but he believed someone had to have seen the killer.

"I don't think so. Someone as clever as him wouldn't allow a prostitute or a pimp to catch sight of him, and even if they did, they'd recognize him as a killer," Ibiki stated, expressing his skepticism about relying on the residents of the red light district to speak up, as it could put them in danger.

Yamanaka's Residence

Inoichi knelt in horror, witnessing a scene that seemed pulled from his worst nightmares. His wife and child were lifeless before him, their bodies mutilated and their severed heads placed ominously on the countertop.

The leader of the Yamanaka clan was overwhelmed with grief, unable to hold back his vomit as tears streamed down his face. Ibiki and Anko exchanged glances filled with sympathy as they watched the man mourn the loss of his family.

"Ibiki, you have to tell me this is just a dream," Inoichi pleaded, gazing at the head of the interrogation department. "This has to be a nightmare, right? I’ll wake up any moment, and everything will be fine with my family."

Ibiki remained silent but placed a reassuring hand on Inoichi's shoulder, offering his support. It was the best he could do in that moment. He firmly believed that the recent assault by the killer was not a coincidence; it seemed that Inoichi was specifically targeted, likely because they were on the verge of uncovering the perpetrator's identity.

Inoichi mourned deeply for his loss, staying on his knees in the same spot as his family's remains were removed from the house, gazing vacantly into the distance with lifeless eyes.

Ibiki shook his head while observing the man, as Anko had already departed to search for any clues regarding the murderer in the area; someone might have witnessed something.

"This was a deliberate assault, Inoichi," Ibiki remarked, drawing the blonde man's focus. "I believe the murderer is aware that we're searching for him, and he orchestrated this to unsettle you."

"It's my responsibility," Inoichi admitted, coming to the painful conclusion that the murderer had gone after his family solely because he was searching for his own identity. "I was the one who caused my family's death."

SLAP

"No, Inoichi, you're not to blame for their deaths; they were killed by a madman," Ibiki said assertively, giving Inoichi a hard slap to pull him out of his sorrow. "Take some time to clear your head and return when you're ready. If you need more time, I completely understand."

Ibiki was aware that he was being unfair to Inoichi, who couldn't just move past this incident—after all, no rational person would be able to. He let out a sigh, recognizing that Inoichi was removed from the case, which meant losing one of their top investigators. Perhaps that was exactly what the murderer had intended. However, Ibiki felt powerless to assist Inoichi in overcoming his sorrow and anguish.

Fast Forward

Yamanaka's Residence

Four years have gone by since his family was taken, and Inoichi had changed drastically. He had grown a long beard and appeared disheveled, but his determination to uncover the identity of the killer kept him motivated, and he was getting closer to the truth.

There have been several more murders besides the usual pimp and whore, some of the civilians who sent their children to be ninjas like Amy had met their end at the hand of the killer the civilians named the slash demon.

Inoichi rolled his eyes as he whispered the name but it fits the way the killer excicutes his victims, the Hyuuga family have been hit Hinata and her little sister Hanabi have been cut to small pieces and sent back in a box to their father who for the first time anyone could remember broke down and cry in at his loss then that turned to rage as he swear to get revenge for his children.

The blonde-haired man had narrowed down the list of potential suspects involved in the murders to just three individuals: Kiba, Iruka, and Naruto. Although he had been removed from the case and honorably discharged from his responsibilities, he couldn't shake his determination to find his family's killer.

Inoichi monitored and documented every death that occurred over the span of four years, identifying only three individuals who met all the criteria to be considered the murderer.

The Yamanaka reached this conclusion through his own research. In several of the murders, Naruto was spotted nearby; however, since he resided in the red light district, this wasn't particularly unusual. While he wasn't certain about Naruto's wind affinity, it was clear that no one had more motive to despise the Hidden Leaf Village.

Iruka was observed in the red light district several times, including during incidents of murder. It's possible that he was simply seeking stress relief from some of the working women there. While the academy teacher seemed the least likely to be the perpetrator, his kind demeanor could potentially mask a darker side, as ninjas are known to be deceptive by nature.

Kiba found himself in a similar predicament as the other two, frequenting the red light district where he was recognized as a notorious pervert and misogynist. It was clear that the dog boy had ventured there for some intimate encounters. With his sharp claws, he could potentially be the murderer in question. Inoichi recalled witnessing Kiba's mother use her chakra to sharpen her claws, making them lethal enough to slice through her foes.

"I just need to keep a close eye on them; whoever the killer is will inevitably make a mistake," Inoichi murmured to himself, holding a glass of whiskey in one hand and a photo of his wife and daughter in the other. "And when that happens, I'll avenge my family."

Academy Graduation Day [Night]

Naruto frowned from his concealed spot behind a tree, the scroll of forbidden jutsu secured on his back, as he listened to Mizuki speak to Iruka about eliminating the Kyuubi.

"What an idiot," Naruto muttered to himself, frustrated that despite Kurama's assistance in his training, he was still only at Chuunin level, or possibly just a weak Jounin. If he were the Kyuubi, he would have wiped them all out by now.

Naruto observed as Iruka proclaimed him a ninja of the Leaf, nearly causing him to gag. Once, such words would have brought him to tears, but now all he felt was a desire to take down both Iruka and Mizuki.

Using his acting skills to deceive the Sharingan, Naruto emerged from his hiding spot and launched an attack on Mizuki, leading Iruka to believe he was aligned with him. Mizuki, oblivious to the ruse, began to rant about Naruto being the Nine-Tails, which amused Naruto. He then employed the shadow clone jutsu, creating numerous copies of himself throughout the area. What ensued was a fierce and brutal beating of Mizuki, though he managed to survive, at least for the moment.

"Impressive, Naruto! You mastered the shadow clone jutsu in just one night," Iruka said with a warm smile as he approached Naruto. "I believe that makes you eligible to pass the genin exam."

Iruka assumed that Naruto would be pleased with his comments, but he was mistaken. The Uzumaki scoffed at the Chuunin's words, and before Iruka could respond, a blast of wind struck him, creating a gaping hole in his abdomen.

"Sure, I'd love to be a ninja in this pathetic village," Naruto replied with sarcasm, spitting in Iruka's face. The dying man looked stunned as he faced his student and murderer. "Just perish like the pest you are."

The Uzumaki observed with delight as the light faded from Iruka's eyes and was ready to inflict the same fate on the battered and bloodied Mizuki when a voice interrupted him.

"It was you all along," Inoichi declared as he stepped into the clearing, his expression resolute and a palpable killing intent emanating from him. "You are the slash demon."

"I suppose that name fits me," Naruto responded, not refuting it since he intended to leave Konoha soon. "You're Ino's father."

"You have no right to speak her name, you monster, not after taking her life!" Inoichi shouted in rage as he lunged at Naruto. He reached the blonde and plunged a Kunai into him, but as he did, he vanished in a cloud of smoke, revealing that he was merely a shadow clone.

"Hey, come back! I'm not finished with you yet, demon!" Inoichi shouted, scanning the area for Naruto, but the Uzumaki was already far off, grinning as he glanced at the forbidden jutsu scroll slung over his shoulder.

The third Hokage witnessed everything unfold through his crystal ball with a heavy heart. He glanced at the fourth Hokage and, for what felt like the umpteenth time, wished it had been him who had perished while sealing the Nine-Tails, thinking perhaps that it might have prevented all of this from occurring.

Some might wonder why the Hokage wasn't pursuing Naruto, and the explanation is quite straightforward. Naruto has always been adept at concealing his presence, and with his shadow clone technique, it's likely he created countless false leads to confuse anyone searching for him. However, the deeper truth is that the old man didn't believe he could bring himself to kill or capture the boy he regarded as a grandson. Thus, with a heavy heart, he felt compelled to fulfill his responsibilities as Hokage in the only way he knew how.

With a weary sigh, the third Hokage remarked, "I'm getting too old for this nonsense," as he summoned the ANBU to his office. "Your task is to revise the bingo book and include Naruto Uzumaki, with orders to bring him back ”dead or alive."
