Chapter 4: Reunion
New York City
Whirlpool Inc.
Emma Frost, typically exuding confidence and possessing a reputation for being rather harsh, stood at the entrance of her brother's business alongside a woman with dark hair and an alluring figure.
Emma wore a white business suit consisting of tailored pants and a fitted female jacket, while Tessa opted for a form-fitting black dress. The blonde telepath was aware that Tessa wasn't wearing any underwear, as the lace outlines of her panties were not visible through the dress.
The woman with dark hair named Teresia Karisik, often referred to as Tessa, is connected to the Hellfire Club. She is a mutant, and Emma has learned that she acts as a double agent for Charles Xavier.
Tessa had risen to become Sebastian Shaw, the Black King's trusted aide, which meant she had to endure the harshness of his brutal actions.
Emma utilized her awareness of the dark-haired woman's role as a spy to challenge Tessa, causing the typically stoic woman to become flustered. Tessa was acutely aware that if Shaw discovered her secret, it could mean her demise. Fortunately, Emma had no plans to disclose any information to Shaw.
Emma sought a partner within the perilous organization, promising to safeguard Tessa's confidences. In exchange, Tessa was obligated to assist Emma in whatever manner the blonde desired.
That was precisely why Tessa was present; she was essentially a seductress, sent to entice Naruto as part of the arrangement to persuade him to join the Hellfire Club.
Shaw proposed the idea of using Tessa to entice Naruto into their group. Emma recognized it as a clever plan, one that Tessa was likely to support since it would distance her from the Hellfire Club and, by extension, from Shaw himself.
The blonde telepath feigned a sympathetic expression as she regarded Tessa. Emma understood that in order to get as intimately involved with Shaw as the dark-haired mutant was, she would have to engage in numerous unsavory actions, including sharing a bed with him.
"Quit staring at me like that," Tessa remarked in a nearly mechanical voice. She sensed what Emma was thinking, even if she couldn't quite access her thoughts. "I took the necessary steps to fulfill my mission, and if it comes down to it, I'll do what I must with your brother too."
"I'm confident that my brother will be a better option than Shaw, sweetheart," Emma replied, understanding that one of the reasons Tessa had so readily agreed to support her was due to the sense of betrayal she felt from Charles Xavier. He had essentially assigned her to a dangerous mission that jeopardized her life and took away her sense of self-respect.
"Perhaps, but I'm not the one hesitating here, right? Is the thought of seeing your brother again that intimidating for you?" Tessa remarked, glancing at Emma, who had remained in the same position outside Whirlpool Inc. for the past five minutes.
Emma gave Tessa an irritating look, which only received a blank stare, making her turn and sigh. She just knew the dark-haired mutant would have a victorious smirk on her face if she didn't have complete control over her body and emotional responses.
"Come on, let's head in," Emma remarked as she entered the large building, Tessa following closely behind. The blonde woman glanced around, taking in the sight of various projections displaying upcoming projects while employees bustled about.
The blonde telepath located the secretary by scanning the thoughts of those present. When she approached the desk of a red-haired woman, she found it oddly difficult to access her thoughts. She could penetrate her mind if she tried hard enough, but doing so might trigger suspicion.
"I'm Emma Frost, and I'm here to see Naruto," the blonde telepath declared plainly. "Could you let him know that his sister has arrived for a visit?"
The Secretary was momentarily speechless, unsure of how to reply, but she quickly regained her composure and made a swift call to Naruto.
"Mr. Uzumaki, two women have arrived to meet you, and one asserts that she is your sister," the red-haired individual said, glancing at Emma and Tessa with a wary expression. "Should I alert security, or would you like to meet with them?"
Emma observed the redhead receiving instructions over the phone and began to feel anxious that Naruto might have them removed. However, she felt at ease when the secretary faced them with a more laid-back demeanor.
"Kindly come with me; Mr. Uzumaki has agreed to meet with you," the red-haired woman said as she walked toward the elevator, with the two mutants following close behind. "I’m Natalia Rushmore."
Once the three women stepped out of the elevator, they found themselves in an elaborately adorned hallway guarded by security personnel. Emma attempted to tap into their thoughts, but to her surprise, she found she couldn't pick up on anything at all. This was a stark contrast to her experience with the secretary; if the blonde woman couldn't perceive them visually, she would have serious doubts about their presence, relying solely on her abilities.
After a brief stroll, they encountered another redhead. Emma began to suspect that her brother had a preference for red-haired women. This one was named Mary Jane Watson, and she served as Naruto's personal assistant. Natalia exchanged a few words with her before heading back to the elevator.
"Mr. Uzumaki is ready to see you," the redhead said, gesturing towards a set of double doors. "Kindly follow me and make sure to behave appropriately."
Emma listened to the redhead's words, which came across as a threat. She attempted to reach into MJ's mind, only to be surprised when she found she couldn't. Tessa shared a similar look, as she possessed some telepathic abilities as well, among other powers.
Tessa's advanced analytical mind began to consider the reasons behind their inability to read the thoughts of so many individuals in one location. The only explanations that came to her were the possibility of anti-telepathic measures in place. She couldn't determine whether it was due to a specific device or an individual's abilities, but it raised significant concerns for her.
Naruto's Office
Emma gazed at her brother, whom she hadn't seen in years, as he sat at his desk, engrossed in paperwork. She realized he was intentionally avoiding their presence as they walked into the room. MJ shut the door behind them and returned to her own work.
"Are you just going to sit there without saying hello, brother?" Emma inquired, growing weary of being overlooked, while Tessa stood behind her, examining the sophisticated computers in the office.
"Well, I figured you didn't see me as your brother anymore since I took out your abusive boyfriend," Naruto said, not lifting his gaze from his task. If he had, he would have noticed Emma flinch. "Also, I changed my name to Uzumaki to sever any connection with the Frosts."
"Naruto, please don't act that way. I regret shutting you out of my life and have realized my error. Can we have a fresh start?" Emma earnestly requested. Tessa was taken aback by this, though she kept her composure; it was the most unguarded moment she had witnessed from Emma.
Emma's words prompted Naruto to lift his gaze; his striking blue eyes met Emma's. They held each other's stare, each seemingly searching for something, until Naruto rose and positioned himself directly in front of his sister.
Naruto looked at Emma, really looking at her to see if he could still see the twin sister he loved years ago before their relationship went sour.
"You've really changed," Naruto said, looking into his sister's eyes. He could tell she'd been through a lot, making her stronger, but the innocent part he wanted to protect was gone.
"I could express the same sentiment towards you," Emma responded in a defensive manner while also observing Naruto. She couldn't read his mind, which was not shocking due to them being siblings. Their mutant powers don't really work on each other, or it's better to say that since they are twins, their powers interact strangely with one another.
They were resistant to the powers of the other, while at the same time, when they were together, their power became stronger.
"I can't say I changed; it's more like I became the guy I was meant to be. But you seem like you've been pushed to be the woman I see now," Naruto said, arms crossed. He glanced at Tessa, who he knew was trying to read his mind but she ultimately failed, much to her growing frustration.
"I think we’ve had enough playful conversation for now. I am here on behalf of the Hellfire Club," Emma remarked, taking a more formal approach. "They would like to extend an invitation for you to join our group."
Naruto said, "I've heard about the Hellfire Club; your group is just a bunch of rich and powerful folks who are high up in almost everything!" his words made Emma nod that she wouldn't have to go into detail about what the Hellfire Club was.
"That is correct, and there is much more to learn, but for now, this is sufficient information about the individuals I represent," Emma stated, then motioned for Tessa to come forward. "This is Tessa; she is here as a reward bonus for you if you choose to join us."
Naruto watch the dark hair woman step forward, her tight black dress was like a second skin on her velumtuos body, she would have been more attractive if it was not for the emotionless look on her face.
"Are you forcing her to do this because the look she is giving off makes it seem that way?" Naruto remarked as he looked into Tessa's cold, blank eyes. "If so, I will have to decline your offer."
"I am absolutely eager to help, Mr. Uzumaki," Tessa remarked as her expression shifted from neutral to a brighter, more cheerful one. "The look on my face is just a result of my mutant powers. I have full command over my body."
Naruto remarked, "That sounds a bit disturbing," as he pictured Tessa using this approach with various guys to make it look like they had given her an extraordinary experience. "I need to reflect on it for a while before I make a decision about joining."
"That's fine, but please don't take forever to respond," Emma remarked with a frustrated expression. She was aware that Shaw wouldn't be pleased with the situation. "I'll leave Tessa with you while I inform the others that you need more time. You can use Tessa however you see fit—whether that's for your accounting needs or something else entirely. She's yours to command."
Emma glanced at Tessa, who gave a knowing nod. It was clear that the dark-haired beauty was no stranger to this experience; she was well aware of what was in store—being overwhelmed by a man's desires and feeling the aftermath for days.
"I suppose there's nothing I can say that will convince you to take Tessa with you," Naruto remarked, realizing his sister intended to use Tessa as bait. He received a smirk in response. "Alright, but I'll make sure she stays somewhere where she won't be able to cause me any trouble."
"I would likely do the same if I were in your shoes," Emma remarked, nodding in understanding. "I need to head back now, but it was wonderful to see you again, and I hope we can rekindle the bond we had."
Emma glanced back at Naruto one final time before walking away. She understood that regardless of the outcome, Naruto was destined to bring significant changes to her life, particularly if he ascended to become the white king.
Naruto observed Emma as she walked away, aware that MJ would accompany her. Seeing his sister after such a long time brought him a sense of comfort, but he was determined not to allow her to easily reenter his heart with mere flattery. She needed to prove through her actions that she had genuinely transformed for the better.
Fast Forward
Once Emma returned to the Hellfire Club, leaving Tessa to try and convince him to join, Naruto offered the dark-haired mutant a room in one of his penthouses, assuring her that he would visit her later that evening after finishing work.
In his office, he was engaged in a video conference with MJ, Natalia, and a woman with dark hair. They were discussing the possibility of him infiltrating the Hellfire Club, not to become a genuine member, but with the intention of dismantling it from within.
The woman in the video chat expressed her concern, saying, "I really believe you shouldn't participate; it could be very risky, and we don't have much information about them."
"That might be the case, Skye, but Naruto is grown up enough to handle his own affairs," Natalie said. Naruto glanced at 'Natalia,' also known as Black Widow, who is an operative for a covert government agency and had been assigned to keep an eye on him.
Unfortunately, he was surrounded by individuals like Skye, who managed to breach the government organization's database and obtained detailed information about all their agents, particularly the most perilous ones.
So, when Natalie, or more accurately Natasha Romanova, entered this place using her alias to apply for a secretary position, Skye raised the alarm, so to speak. Shortly after, he encountered the head of the organization Natasha was affiliated with, and they reached an agreement.
It was more a matter of mutual threats. Naruto warned that he would expose everything he knew about Nick Fury's organization, while the government agent countered by threatening to imprison Skye for her unauthorized access to a government database. The resolution was straightforward: Black Widow was permitted to remain as Fury's observer in exchange for Skye receiving immunity for her offenses.
He observed Skye on the monitor. He had first encountered her a few years ago when she found herself in a precarious situation for stealing from the wrong individuals. They were on the verge of assaulting Skye, potentially to the point of death, but he stepped in to rescue her.
Naruto offered Skye a place to stay, a gesture she hesitantly accepted due to her lack of options. At that moment, she didn't have faith in him, which was understandable given their unfamiliarity. As an orphan, similar to Naruto's own past as a ninja, he recognized that being cautious and wary of others is often a means of survival.
Gradually, Skye began to lower her defenses in his presence, leading to a friendship between them. She also became one of his most reliable team members, showcasing exceptional computer skills and the ability to infiltrate nearly any system.
"I believe you should become a part of it," MJ suggested, prompting the others to turn to her for clarification. "They really want you to be a member, and people associated with the Hellfire Club aren't known for accepting rejection easily. It's wiser to join on your own terms rather than having to fight them off when they resort to underhanded tactics to persuade you."
Naruto agreed, recognizing that MJ's statements held some validity. Malicious individuals like Shaw will resort to any tactics necessary to achieve their goals, particularly when it comes to obtaining the resources and influence of Whirlpool Inc.
Naruto thoughtfully weighed his choices, analyzing the pros and cons of becoming a member of the Hellfire Club, despite his goal of taking the organization apart from the inside.
