Chapter 8: Arrivals

Earth

Omniman, aka Nolan, looked at his son Mark with disdain. He was so weak and emotionally connected to these Earthlings. Why couldn't he see that they were just primitive insects?

"Mark, join me and the Viltrumite Empire. We will take over this planet, but it is for the best. These people are going to destroy themselves. It's better if we take control," Nolan exclaimed to his son, who was in his hero costume. "If you don't see reason, Mark, I will have to eliminate you."

Flashback Scene Ahead

Omniman engaged in combat with the Immortal while his son, Invincible, battled a colossal monster with tentacles protruding from its head.

People everywhere were watching this scene, confused about why the immortal, who everyone thought was dead, was fighting Omniman. It just didn't add up.

"Damn it, What are those news choppers doing over there? they are going to get themselves killed," Cecil cursed, he was at a secret base with Debra, the wife of Omniman, who now knew her husband was the one who eliminated the majority of the guardians of the globe.

The other secret agents present looked on the monitor nervously. Omniman had already killed several of their people earlier and he was now trying to get to his son, presumably to convince Invincible to join him in whatever he was planning.

Cecil had tried to stall Omniman using a teleportation device and some reanimation soldiers, but none of that worked. So, when all else failed, he released the monster that Invincible was fighting Omniman, hoping that it would give them some time to get to Mark.

Invincible had been flying towards his father's direction with Eve when he saw Omniman fighting the giant monster. He instantly joined the battle to help him. That was about the time Immortal showed up, insane with rage, attacking Nolan, leaving Mark to fight the giant monster alone.

In a moment of intense fury, The Immortal landed several blows on Omniman that caused bleeding; however, ultimately, he was outmatched by a Viltrumite, as Nolan literally punched through him.

Omniman was sure he was victorious, but he let his guard down. He thought The Immortal was finished, but with the last of his strength, the immortal plunged his fingers into Nolan's eyes, trying but failing to claw them out.

With his one free hand, Omniman cut the Immortal in half, ending the battle once and for all. His eyes were now bloodshot from the damage the Immortal did to them.

Meanwhile, Mark had defeated the giant monster and tied it up with some wire from an electric pole. He saw what his father did to the immortal in disbelief.

Mark had just confronted his father, trying to make sense of everything; he tried to reason that his father must be mind controlled or something, but Omniman would have none of that.

"Mark, I must confess that I have not been truthful about the Viltrumites," Nolan stated, gazing at his son with an impassive demeanor. "We are not a race dedicated to saving worlds; rather, we conquer them and enhance their potential."

"We are an advance society, that much is true but we invade other worlds and make them a part of the Viltrumite empire, if they resist we eliminated them but those who submit we make better," Nolan firmly stated that he is ready to take the necessary steps should Mark decline to accept his destiny, saying, "Join me, son, and accept your new future with me."

"What about mom? Don't you love her?" Mark asked with tears in his eyes. It hurt him that everything he thought he knew about his dad was a lie.

"Mark, you have to understand, we will out live your mother by thousand of year, beings like us are different than a human like her, being with her is akin to beastism," Nolan replied, trying to explain himself to his son, but his words seem to enrage him: "She is more of a pet."

Mark exclaimed, "So, to you, mom is merely a pet," as he hurried towards his father, moving faster than he ever had, though it felt like a snail's pace to Nolan. "Please, regain your senses; this is not who you are."

Omniman punched Mark hard not showing any mercy sending him into a crowded city, he began to beat his son and killing any human that were unfortunate enough to cross his path.

High above, Naruto observed the unfolding events with Kate in his embrace; they were discussing whether to intervene and assist in halting Omniman.

"Do you think we should help?" Naruto asked casually as they watched Omniman rampage; he was using his son as a club, smashing buildings and people with him.

"Nah, it's a family thing, so let's not get involved," Kate said, not caring about the cries for help from the city below. "And hey, don't you have a date soon?"

"Yes, Amber invited me over to her new apartment," Naruto stated with a chuckle, "She tried to make her invitation sound so innocent, like she was not asking me over to do the nasty."

Naruto pondered aloud, "I am curious as to why War Woman and Green Ghost have not yet arrived. One might expect that with the Immortal making such a significant announcement that Omniman is a murderer and a traitor, they would be here."

Naruto knew Cecil wouldn't let the younger and less experienced members of the New Guardians of the Globe fight Omniman unless he had no other choice, but it was different for the two founding members; they would come even if Cecil forbade them, so they can get revenge for their dead teammate and friends.

The Uzumaki eyes glanced at his wife who had an innocent expression on her face when she heard his word and for anyone who knew her being him, their children, Cecil and a few others they knew Kate was anything but innocent she was cruel, sadistic woman that only had any love for a hand full of people.

"What did you do?" Naruto asked in curiosity to his wife, who looked at him with wide, innocent eyes. "You know that look doesn't fool me, so why aren't War Woman and Green Ghost here?"

Kate responded, "Yesterday, I spent an evening with the girls while you were engaged in handling that alien invasion in outer space," subtly avoiding details of her activities, but Naruto could infer what happened.

Naruto nodded in agreement; Nolan would make quick work of War Woman and Green Ghost, but the blonde knew that the guilt of not being there to help the Immortal and save people from Omniman's rampage would eat at the two women.

"We'll deal with that when we get there," Naruto said, and Kate heard him and nodded, probably thinking the same thing.

The couple focuses on where the sound was coming from to see Omniman ramming Invincible into a train; the hero was fine, but the many people on the train were not.

In a few minutes, Omniman had killing hundreds of people and Mark was powerless to stop him as he was beaten to a pulp by the older, stronger and more experienced Viltrumite before being thrown into a mountain.

Flashback Scene End

Nolan flew into outer space. His face was blank, but his mind was conflicted. What was he doing? He is a proud Viltrumite, and it was his duty to take over the Earth. But in doing so, he would have to go through his son, something he found he can't bring himself to do.

Back on Earth minutes later, soon helicopters appear with Cecil, along with a medical team. However, Mark was already unconscious as they raced to save his life.

"I don't think you have the time to argue with me about whether I should let myself into someone's house or not," Naruto responded dismissively, "You should go see what is coming to Earth before it reaches here and a lot of people die."

Mark was on the verge of disputing and suggesting that Naruto should fulfill Cecil's wishes himself, but Amber gently placed her hand on his arm.

Amber said with a pretend sad face, "Maybe you should just do what he says; whatever's out there could be risky, and people might get hurt."

Naruto watches as several emotions play on Mark's face before he slumps in defeat. In the end, he could not let people die when he could save them, so with an apologetic look to his girlfriend, he got up and left to change.

If Invincible had stayed back for a few minutes, he would have seen Naruto circle back and Amber meeting him at the door with lustful eyes.

"God damn it, why are there three unidentified objects coming to Earth at once?" Cecil cursed. He was stressed out but had to keep it together. "Get me Invincible and also put a call out to Unstoppable."

In all honesty, Cecil doesn't like to rely on Naruto and his wife because he knows they are some psychopaths with too much power, but sadly, they are some of the most efficient heroes in the world.

The thought annoyed Cecil sometimes that the two best heroes are the ones he could trust the least; unbeknownst to Cecil, the three arrivals were linked to the blonde Viltrumite.
