Chapter 3: Death and Destruction

Asgard

The armored champion watched the beautiful realm of the Asgardians, the city of gold. Thor and Loki were busy coming up with a plan while the Hulk was talking to Valkyrie.

"It's been a long time," the champion whispered to himself. Valkyrie, who was close by, heard him but didn't comment. She just conversed with the Hulk.

The champion was amused by the plan that Thor and Loki came up with, which was basically to charge into Asgard and battle Hela, and if all else fails, revive Surtur using the eternal flame.

It was honestly not a bad planet because Hela drew her power from Asgard, and if they destroyed it, it would leave the goddess of death as powerful as an average Asgardian, maybe somewhat stronger.

"I will need your help with getting Surtur's crown and the Valkyrie along with the eternal flame from my father's vault," Thor requested of the dark-skinned female, who looked at the champion, who nodded before she agreed.

Thor found it odd that Valkyrie seemed to defer all her decisions to the champion. Meanwhile, Loki found this suspicious but didn't ask, as they needed all the allies they could get. There was no need to make an enemy of the champion.

"Fine, I will get the stupid flames and crown while you get beat up by your big sister," Valkyrie said mockingly. "So, what will Loki and Hulk be doing?"

"They will hold back Hela's army, and I won't lose to her again. I'll be victorious this time," Thor vowed confidently, but Valkyrie didn't look convinced.

"If you say so, Sparky," Valkyrie responded, not at all convinced that Thor would win against Hela, which made the god of thunder wonder why she even came if she didn't think he could win.

"What about me?" the champion asked Thor, surprised. He thought that the armored man would not want to take part in any of this. It was not his fight after all. Helping them get here was help enough, but since he was offering.

"You can help fight Hela's army and help evacuate any civilians you find," Thor answered, making Valkyrie raise an eyebrow, but not for the reason he would think.

"Asgard really has changed since I left. Back when I was here, there were no civilians; there were just on-duty warriors and off-duty ones," Valkyrie commented, shaking her head. "Asgard has become too soft."

"Look, that doesn't matter right now. Let's just land and get the plan in motion," Loki interrupted, knowing that this line of talk would just get Thor and Valkyrie into a pointless argument.

"Fine, I will head out first and draw Hela's attention on me," Thor said as he walked to the exit of the ship and jumped off. His destination was the royal palace, a place that had been his home, but now felt like an invisible blade was about to slash the neck of anyone who entered.

Royal Place

Thor was sitting on his father's Odin chair, waiting for Hela to arrive. He had seen that Heimdall had been protecting the people from Hela by hiding them and had taken the sword necessary to control the Bifrost bridge.

"Hello, sister. I see you have redecorated the place, but I will have to ask you to change it back," Thor said as he looked at Hela and another Asgardian he found vaguely familiar (Skurge).

"Get off my chair. That is the seat for the ruler of Asgard, not some boy," Hela demanded. Her voice, which was usually playful but dangerous, now held only the promise of pain and death.

"You are right about this being the chair for the ruler of Asgard, but it can't be me or you for that matter because you are the worst," Thor stated flatly. He could see Hela was irritated, even if her face was blank.

"Move or die, no, forget that, just die," Hela said. She formed her crown and created blades in each of her hands, ready to eliminate her younger brother.

"Bring it on, bitch," Thor replied as lightning appeared around him. He had gotten a better handle of his power after fighting the champion at the arena. "You will fall here today."

Scene Change

The champion watched Loki and Heimdall load people onto some Asgardian spaceships to get them off the planet just in case they had to use their last option.

The Hulk battled Fenrir, giving the giant wolf a decent fight. It wasn't the most refined clash, but one of beastly instinct and rare strength.

The champion concealed eyes then went to where he knew Thor and Hela were fighting, as evidenced by the constant lightning flashes and blades shooting out of the royal palace.

Valkyrie had gone to get the eternal flames and Surtur's crown, leaving him here just looking at the people getting on the spaceships. At some point, Heimdall's eyes locked on him, and he got a look of confusion and suspicion on his face.

The champion could only guess that it was due to his armor's special properties, which protect him from the sight of others with special abilities like Heimdall, who can see everything that happens in the nine realms and even through things.

"Who are you, and why can't I see you?" Heimdall asked aggressively of the champion's amusement.

"I am no one special," the man in black armor stated as he gazed at the place where Thor and Hela were fighting. It seemed to get more intense, with a cloud forming overhead. "You should focus on getting everyone out of here before they get caught in this battle."

"Heimdall, leave our friend alone and come help me here," Loki's voice called out to the dark-skinned Asgardian. He did not want the man to turn the champion into an enemy; they had enough of them to fight already.

Heimdall gave the champion a hard look before turning away to help some Asgardian civilians enter the ship to get off the planet. The champion noted that Thor was stronger than when he fought him last time; it must be because of his heightened emotions.

Scene Change

"Will you just die already," Thor roared as he slammed his lightning-covered fist into Hela over and over, vaporizing flesh and breaking bones, but the goddess of death recovered as fast as he could deal damage to her.

Hela countered, "You first." She slashed at Thor with a blade that formed in her hands, cutting him all over. However, the lightning around him protected him from fatal blows, frustrating the goddess of death.

To Skurge, it seemed to be an equal fight, but to Thor and Hela, it was far from that. They both could feel Thor weakening; the lightning around him was fading fast. It was only a matter of time before Hela won when he ran out of stamina.

In a last desperate attempt to put Hela down permanently, Thor channeled all his power into one blast that took the form of a lightning bolt. The energy from the sky gathered in his hands in the form of lightning, and with a deafening war cry, the god of thunder unleashed his mightiest attack to date.

Hela's eyes widened as she saw the powerful lightning heading her way. She created a barrage of blades in front of her and launched them at the incoming attack.

Lightning vs blades, if there were mortals present, they would think it was a battle between a war god and a sky father, given the level of power the two were displaying.

The clash ended as any one with a brain would predict, with Hela holding Thor by his throat, as he helplessly clawed at her hand.

"You put up quite a fight, but I win," Hela said with a sadistic smile. She raised her free hand and plunged it into Thor's right eye, pulling it out. "Now you look more like Odin."

Thor cried out in pain as his eye was taken. He almost passed out from the pain, but his will kept him awake and determined to still fight.

"You are still determined to defeat me. You know you can't win. You are just a godling not worth my time," Hela stated as she prepared to stab Thor through the heart.

"I will not let you have your way," Thor exclaimed as his eyes glowed with power and a bolt of lightning came down on both gods' heads like a meteor, destroying the palace completely.

Thor and Hela were launched to where Heimdall and Loki were evacuating Asgardians. Three ships had managed to take off from the ground and into space, while one was just about to leave.

Hela said this and summoned a giant blade, impaling the ship and keeping it from taking off. Thor, Loki, and Heimdall were ready to confront the goddess of death, but her gaze went to the champion.

"You feel familiar," Hela stated as she looked at the champion, but her focus was broken as Thor charged at her with a war cry.

"For Asgard!" the god of thunder roared, with lightning crackling around him. "Die, monster."

Heimdall and Loki were right behind him, although the god of mischief did so reluctantly. Who would want to face the goddess of death, after all?

Hela dodged Thor's attack, grabbed him by the leg, and used him as a club to beat Loki and Heimdall. She knocked all of her foes away from her, and they landed with pain groans.

"You are all weak. Face the facts: you will never defeat me. Asgard is mine," Hela said with a victorious look on her face as she gazed down at her enemies.

"I think this has gone on long enough," the champion said, stepping forward to Hela, getting her full attention. "If you don't stop now, I will be your opponent."

"Oh, you are a confident one," Hela responded with a raised eyebrow as her lips twisted in a vicious smile. "I will enjoy breaking you."

There were no more words spoken as the champion and Hela stared down at each other. They were about to clash when Hulk threw Fenrir in the air, and at the same time, Valkyrie was coming their way with Surtur's crown and the eternal flames.

"Oh shit," Valkyrie said as the eternal flame and Surtur's crown came into contact with one another by accident. Hela's eyes went wide as she saw these two soon transform the crown into a giant monster of flames that is Surtur. He was bigger than Thor, remember, but it must be due to Asgard being dense with magic.

"I live again, not in this time to destroy Asgard," Surtur roared with laughter as he created a sword with his power. He was about to plunge it into Asgard's core, but Hela sent giant blades through the giant.

"You think this can stop me, wench? Think again," Surtur exclaimed with a burst of flames as hot as the surface of the sun. Hela's blades were destroyed.

Thor and company, minus the champion and Valkyrie, hurried to the ship with the Asgardian civilians to escape Asgard's imminent destruction.

Hela tried to stop Surtur with everything she had, but her efforts seemed futile. No matter what she did, the giant lifted his massive sword over his head to plunge it into Asgard.

"I will not be defeated by the likes of you," Hela exclaimed in desperation. She attacked with a giant blade, but nothing worked.

Surtur's sword was about to reach the ground, but before it did, the champion got in the way. He was glowing with a crimson aura, and as soon as the giant blade came into contact with him, it was erased.

"What are you doing?" Thor exclaimed as he saw that the champion was getting in the way of Surtur destroying Asgard and Hela with it. It hurt him that he had to do this, but as long as the goddess of death existed, no Asgardian was safe.

Heimdall, who was beside Thor, turned pale as he saw this familiar power. He had seen it before many years ago, before Hela was sealed. He prayed that the champion was not who he thought he was.

Hela also looked at the champion as if she had seen a ghost. She had a look of longing on her face.

"What is this? How dare you get in my way," Surtur said with a scowl as he re-created his sword and swung it at the champion, who, to his shock, stopped the giant's blade with one hand.

"It is not the time for you to destroy Asgard, Surtur. Go back to sleep until you are really needed," The Champion stated, his crimson aura intensifying as he disappeared and reappeared in front of Surtur.

Before the giant could react, the champion flew through Surtur's head like a bullet, and the fight was over. The black-armored man held Surtur's crown in one hand and the eternal flames in the other.

"This is not good," Heimdall said, sweat dripping down his face. He had a look of fear that Thor or Loki had never seen before. "We have to leave here at once."

"What had gotten into you, Heimdall?" Loki asked, not knowing what the hell the champion was doing but hoping that the man had a plan to take down Hela and was not betraying them.

"Never mind that. Just get us out from Asgard's sky and into space now," Heimdall exclaimed with urgency, but the aura of fear was still strong on him.

While this was going on, Hela walked right in front of the champion as he handed Valkyrie the eternal flames and Surtur's crown. The goddess of death looked at the black-armored man intensely.

"It's you underneath that armor, isn't it? Where the hell have you been all this time I've been sealed," Hela demanded, her voice angry. "And take that stupid helmet off now."

"You are as I still remember you being," the champion removed his helmet to reveal the face of a blonde man with blue eyes and faint whisker marks. "It has been a long time."

"It has, but I was sealed while you were running around the galaxy with your whore, Naruto," Hela hissed, her rage building as she looked at how close the blonde was with Valkyrie. She felt jealous and betrayed.

"Calm down, Hela, and let's talk about this like adults, or better yet, gods," Naruto said, trying to reason with the enraged goddess, but it only seemed to make her more angry. "You are not going to listen to a word I say are you."

Hela got a wicked look on her face as she formed a blade in both her hands. "Well, look at you. You seem to have gotten smarter while I was sealed away, husband" the goddess of death said sarcastically.

Thor and Loki heard this with their godly hearing. They disregarded Heimdall's warning and exited the ship, letting it leave without them. Their reason was that if they didn't stop Hela here and now, she would only become more powerful and pose a major threat to Asgard.

"What! Husband?," Thor and Loki exclaimed in shock. They did not think that anyone could survive being bound to Hela. "How did this happen?"

Valkyrie, who had made herself scarce after Hela gave her a look that promised death if she stayed by Naruto, came over to Thor and Loki.

"Yes, the champion is Hela's husband," Valkyrie said to the two princes of Asgard. "His name is Naruto, the God of Destruction, the exiled god of Asgard."

Thor and Loki had a shocked look on their faces. Had they brought more trouble to Asgard? But from the look of the married couple, they don't see eye to eye.

This was the reunion of Death and Destruction. Only time can tell if they would bring Asgard and the universe around them into ruin. But for now, with a battle cry, Hela charged at Naruto, who remained calm and collected, meeting her fury.

Well can you blame them I mean one gets her powers from death so as long as someone or something dies she just gets stronger while Naruto gets stronger by training and destroy aka erasing something from existence so honestly they weren’t really a good match
