Chapter 38: Mephisto vs Raziel Pt. 2

Khaos Brigade base

Raziel looked at the now changed Mephisto in shock. In front of him was not the wizard-looking devil, but a hulking figure with a height rivaling his own, covered in bulging muscles and scars all over.

"What the fuck did you do?" Raziel asked in disbelief because Mephisto was holding his spear of holy light like it was nothing.

Raziel looked at the hand holding his light spear and saw that it was covered in a white aura. The hybrid knew that this aura was Touki, an ability mostly found in youkai and sages.

"Let me deliver divine punishment to you for daring to make me retake this form," Mephisto growled, his voice sounding deep and more powerful.

Raziel instinctively felt something dangerous coming, so he released his hold on his light spear and took flight at full speed. It was a good thing, because the spot he was on exploded from a devastating blow filled with Touki.

The hybrid looked at Mephisto, and the form he took looked familiar. Then, it clicked to his horror: the being in front of him was Hajun.

Hajuns are a race of berserker demons that lived in the underworld before Lucifer took over. They went around causing death and destruction wherever they went.

Contrary to what others think, devils are not demons. They are like an artificial cousin of the race created by Lucifer.

In the beginning, Adam, the first man, had a wife called Lilith, who was created from the earth, the same as her husband. She questioned why she had to be beneath Adam even though they were created the same way. God didn't answer the question and just told her to obey.

Lilith didn't like this, so she rebelled against Adam and God, leading her to be expelled from the Garden of Eden. Lucifer later found her and performed many experiments on the female human.

Lilith was later replaced by Eve as Adam's wife. Lucifer made sure to tell her this, and her hatred and rage grew for God and Adam, who abandoned her to the torture that the evil angel called "experiments" on her.

Lucifer experimented with mixing God's perfect being, which he created in his own image, with the blood of demons to corrupt Lilith, and eventually, it worked.

Lilith was transformed into the first devil, Lilith, due to being something like a divine human with godly powers. She transformed into a grotesque form but retained most of her human appearance. With her blood, Lucifer turned himself into a devil, along with his followers.

Then he used Lilith to birth an army of devils by means of science and magic. She was kept in a water tank most of the time, and her blood and magic gave birth to the devil race.

Lucifer used his new army to conquer the underworld, eliminating several of the inhabitants or sealing those he couldn't. After the morning star secured his claim to the underworld, he married Lilith, and the rest was history.

Raziel thought that Lucifer had killed or sealed the Hajuns, but apparently, he had converted one into a devil. Here was a being with a magic-resistant body and physical prowess that most gods couldn't match, along with the magic of a devil.

"Don't you dare think for a second that this new power up changes anything," Raziel stated as his light magic and vampiric power swirled around him.

"Mark my words, I will make you eat your own teeth," Mephisto vowed, his Touki and atomic magic surrounding him.

Mephisto, in this form, lost his once strategic mind and was not driven by his impulse to destroy. Hence, he instinctively used atomic magic, the most destructive magic he had, along with his Touki.

Raziel scowled at the devil but kept his calm. He used his sword to send out a wave of crimson light blades at Mephisto, but his attack was destroyed upon contact with the Hajun's aura.

"Weak," was all Mephisto muttered before he disappeared in a burst of speed, catching Raziel by surprise. A fist was slammed on his head, destroying it along with most of his torso.

Raziel regenerated before his body hit the ground, his bat-like face glaring at the smirking Mephisto with fury, the Hajun had his devil wings out as he floated above.

The hybrid flew back into the air and looked straight into Mephisto's eyes. The two flooded the area with killing intent, making all their battling subordinates around them freeze in fear.

Some of the stronger beings there were able to look in on Mephisto and Raziel's position; to them, they saw two monsters in a staring contest.

Once a man bat-like creature with fallen angel wings, wielding a holy sword, something the devils found hilarious since the wielder looked more unholy than any devil.

The other looked like a giant, muscle-bound demon. He had two horns on his head and long white hair. The only clothes he had on were ripped pants.

"Those things," an enemy magician asked in confusion, "What the hell are those things?" but got no answer. Those around were equally confused.

BOOM BOOM BAAAM

There was no warning, but the two monsters vanished, and suddenly the area was rocked by a loud explosion and violent shaking.

"Oh shit, let's get out of here," a devil exclaimed in fear. He and his allies moved further away from the battle.

Their enemies were smart enough to do the same and now they looked at each other, wondering if they should continue or wait for the fight between the two monsters to conclude before they reengage.

BOOOOMMM

A huge explosion happened near them as the body of the man-bat slammed into the ground. The monster stood back up with a growl and flew back into the air with a sword in hand to clash with the other monster.

Mephisto clashed with Raziel, Touki, and magic-clad fists met sword-infused with vampiric holy light, each time they met resulted in an explosion.

"Die, beast," Raziel roared as she slashed Mephisto with her sword, but her attack was blocked by his opponent's aura.

"You first, bloodsucker," Mephisto growled, his attacks becoming more and more savage, revealing his true nature. It wanted to take over fully, but with his willpower, he managed to keep some of his sanity.

The battle got more intense as Mephisto released a wave of Atomic magic at Raziel, forcing the vampire back.

"Enough," Mephisto said as his aura exploded out of him with such force that it sent shockwaves through the area.

"Couldn't agree more, demon," Raziel shot back, concentrating his power, making him look like a bat monster covered in crimson light.

The two looked at each other and, faster than most beings can see, launched a barrage of attacks on the other. For the first time since he transformed, Mephisto started to take damage.

Mephisto was shocked at this because his Touki aura should be unbreakable. Well, that wasn't completely true. His aura had actually been damaged during this battle, but it regenerated fast enough that no damage was done to him.

Mephisto focused as much as he could in his present state on the Raziel blade and saw that it was vibrating. It started to come together in the devil's head, the hybrid must be vibrating his holy energy at high speeds to add to his power.

Sometimes Mephisto forgets that Raziel was once a member of God's army and is an ancient angel with years of battle experience, but it does not matter.

"Got you now," Mephisto exclaimed with glee, even as Raziel's sword pierced through his stomach. He grabbed the hilt along with the hybrid hand, and with his free hand, he rained blows all over the abomination's body.

BAAM BAAAM CRACK

Blow after blow landed on the hybrid until he was an unrecognizable piece of flesh. Raziel's hand slipped from his sword as his body fell to the ground.

"Argg," Mephisto groaned as he pulled the blade from his stomach. He immediately used atomic magic to blow the wound clear through, getting all of the holy magic out so he could heal.

Raziel, meanwhile, was healing on the ground, but it was slower than usual, thanks to Mephisto Touki's attacks on the soul.

"Enough of this," Mephisto said with hatred in his eyes. He created a massive ball of atomic magic the size of a small house. "Let's see if you can regenerate from nothingness."

Mephisto launched his attack, and before Raziel could move, it hit with a devastating force, erasing everything it touched. The devil watched the crater created by his attack and saw that there was no trace of the hybrid angel.

"pant pant," Mephisto was breathing heavily as he reverted back to his base form. "That took a lot out of me."

After a few minutes, Mephisto wondered if he should stay and help his men eliminate the enemies here or go to help Naruto.

BOOOOMMM

Suddenly, an explosion of sinister power filled Mephisto with dread. It felt like Raziel, but a hundred times worse. The devil's eyes went to the crater, where he watched in horror as the hybrid angel came back to life from being erased.

"Is this the power of God's curse?" Mephisto stated out loud as he watched in fascination as a red glow of curse energy started to form a body, from blood to bone to flesh, and like nothing had happened, Raziel was reborn.

Before Mephisto could react, Raziel was behind him and with a backhand sent the devil flying like a rag doll.

Mephisto managed to use teleportation magic mid-air to get himself out of harm's way. Fortunately, he had teleported just in time, as Raziel, with a burst of speed, was above him, ready to deliver a kick that would have split him in half.

The ancient devil was thankful for how huge the base of the Khaos Brigade was; apparently, Ophis had used her magic to expand the area inside to be like a world on its own.

Mephisto also used the chaos of their subordinates fighting to hide himself as he observed Raziel, the angel hybrid seemed to be even more monstrous with his angel wings now bat-like and his fangs and claws grown in size.

Raziel moved his head left and right, all the while his nose and ears were twitching, and to Mephisto's shock, the angel hybrid's head snapped in his direction.

"Here you are, devil," Raziel's voice came to Mephisto, who could not even turn around as a clawed hand aimed for his head, and life was inches away.

Then suddenly, a wall of ice separated Mephisto from Raziel, and the clawed hand only slashed at the ice, leaving the ancient devil unharmed.

"Looks like you could use some help," Greyfia said beside Mephisto, who was relieved to have such help against such a troublesome opponent.

"Indeed I do, can you hold him for a few minutes I have a plan," Mephisto asked as he already started to make magic circle in preparation.

"Do you even have to ask," Greyfia replied confidently as she froze the area around her with a burst of magic, making Raziel retreat to a safe distance. "I might eliminate this creature before you are done with whatever you are doing."
