Chapter 3: Dragon Rider

Flashback scene ahead

Blackwater Bay [Dragonstone]

Naruto was riding Balerion, with Tessarion flying along side them. The blue female dragon was jealous that the Targaryen chose to ride the other dragon instead of her.

Balerion was not helping that matter either as the black dragon would send the blue female smug glances, well as smug as dragons can get and fly faster so the other dragon had trouble keeping up.

The reason Naruto chose to ride Balerion instead of Tessarion is because the black dragon was stronger, and if they were surprised by an attack, the black dragon would not be hindered with there being a rider on his back.

Tessarion is a powerful dragon in her own right, but she pale in comparison to Balerion, the black dragon. She is faster and stronger than Tessarion, while Tessarion is swift in her own right and obedient.

Naruto was above Dragonstone, trying to see if there was any sign of Cannibal, a savage dragon rumored to live here.

The silver-haired man couldn't see anything out of place, so he made Balerion land so that he could explore the island.

Dragonstone is the ancestral seat of House Targaryen; it was where his ancestors first landed when they came to Westeros.

Dragonstone is a volcanic island; the volcano has been inactive for most of its history, but there are parts that let out hot steam that regular humans can't enter.

"Let's go dragon hunting," Naruto said as he was followed by his dragons into the most dangerous parts of the island.

Naruto had his dragons land in the part of the island that was expelling heat and smelt like rotten flesh; it wasn't hard to find where Cannibal lived, but he must be able to stand the heat and smell of death around his den.

Naruto quickly learned after being reincarnated as a Targaryen he had an immunity to heat and flames along with the ability to use blood magic to bind dragons to his will, just like all of his kind do on an instinctive level.

Then there is his ability to use chakra, which he retained somehow. The former Uzumaki knew that he would never have the same levels of chakra as he did in his previous life but he was still powerful.

Since being reborn, he found that he had a strong affinity for fire and still has one for wind; all in all, he was strong and was looking for a good fight.

"Get ready, as soon as Cannibal senses us and it's going to attack." Naruto said to his dragons who were traveling on the ground with the Targaryen.

Naruto soon saw a cave with the smell of death coming from it; he instantly knew this was Cannibal's Den.

The Targaryen could see why most would not be able to find the dragon; the area was hot and it stunk to the point that it hurt his nose.

Naruto thought of his options, he can go into the cave to fight the dragon but with such a small area he could be crushed on the inside so that leaving him to drawing the savage dragon out.

That should be hard to do because dragons by nature are extremely territorial; therefore, if he made a lot of noise Cannibal should attack them.

Naruto signaled his dragons to roar as loud as they could, and it wasn't five minutes before Naruto felt the ground shake. Cannibal was coming.

With a mighty roar, the dragon emerges from the cave with a fury that would cause lesser men to shake in fear at the sight.

Cannibal is a coal black dragon with green eyes. He had two pairs of horns on his head, and was as big as a castle but he wasn't the biggest dragon he ever heard of.

Naruto, through his bond with his dragon, instantly relayed his plan to them. They would help him distract Cannibal along with his two shadow clones while he the original prepared to deal the finishing blow.

Cannibal dived at Tessarion, who used her flames to slow the savage dragon down and dodged the black dragon's attack.

Naruto's shadow clones used their wind chakra to enhance the cutting power of his sword and tried to cut Cannibal wings to limit its movement; they succeeded but had to dodge a swipe of the savage dragon claws.

Balerion used the dragon distraction to come up to Cannibal's right eyes and released him flames right into it, making the black dragon roar in pain and anger.

Enraged, the dragon headbutted Balerion and sent him flying. Cannibal was about to pursue the smaller dragon but found that two Naruto clones had cut deeply into both of his front legs.

Cannibal let out a breath of flames on the clones but to his surprise, the clones ignored it and kept cutting his leg until the dragon jumped into the air and came down hard trying to crush them.

The fight went on for almost an hour with the two smaller dragons and clones wearing each other down, in the end the clones vanished as they ran out of chakra and Balerion and Tessarion lay exhausted on the ground.

Cannibal got the worse of the battle, the dragon's wings were useless; one of its eyes was sealed and burned, his legs had cuts all over them to the point that he was bleeding from every movement but the savage dragon had enough strength to at least kill the people who put him in this state or so it thought.

Before Cannibal could attack, two smaller down dragons he heard a screeching sound and turned to see Naruto with a ball of energy in his hand and there was an aura of wind shaped like four blades around it.

Cannibal charged at Naruto with intent to swallow him whole, but as soon as he tried the Targaryen slammed his attack right into the dragon's face, causing a massive explosion and a dome of energy and wind consumed the dragon.

Naruto watched as the dragon tried to resist the attack, but in the end, the wind style Rasengan won out and Cannibal was left defeated at his feet.

Naruto watched his hand and saw that his attack slightly wounded him, there was a reason he took so long to prepare his attack: it was because his chakra was no where as large as it was in his previous life, and he had to be careful when preparing the Rasengan, so it wouldn't backfire on him.

Naruto approached the downed wild dragon, with Tessarion and Balerion by his side. His dragons were not badly injured, mostly because of their speed and teamwork.

"Well that was fun," Naruto said as he jumped on Cannibal. The dragon couldn't move; it was dying.

"You are an impressive beast," Naruto said as he examined the cannibal despite taking so much damage that it was still alive but just barely. "How about you join me and become one of my dragons?"

The only response Naruto got was a low growl, which made the blonde laugh. Cannibal, despite its injuries, would not allow itself to be bonded with what it viewed as food; rather, it would die.

Naruto took in how injured Cannibal was. His body was bleeding all over; his arms were minced, and his wings were gone. Both of his legs were as minced as his arms, and both eyes were gone. His horns were broken.

"The fact that you are alive is nothing short of a miracle. I will save you and bind you to me, whether you like it or not." Naruto stated with a wicked smile as he used his chakra and magic to bind Cannibal to himself.

The dragon fought against him, but in the end it was futile because it was so weak after the wild dragon had been bound to his will. Naruto used his chakra and magic to speed up Cannibal's healing, saving its life.

It would be weeks before Naruto would be able to leave with a fully healed Cannibal fallowing him. Needless to say, when he returned to King's Landing, he caused quite the panic.

Flashback scene end

King's Landing [Throne Room]

Naruto had returned to the castle to meet with his brother, Viserys. He was not surprised to see Otto Hightower beside him; it seemed the snake had been whispering in his brother's ear as usual.

"You called for me, brother." Naruto said as he stood in front of the iron throne.

"Yes I have, I trust you heard about what Daemon did." Viserys said in a rage.

"I've heard some things," Naruto replied as he had heard rumors that Daemon had stolen the dragon egg Viserys intended to give his deadsome and flee with it to Dragonstone where he is currently ruling "but what does that have to do with me."

"I want you to go to Dragonstone and make Daemon stop this nonsense at once," Viserys said as he slammed his hand on the iron throne but shouted in pain because he had hit his infected finger.

"I don't want to," Naruto replied as he watched Viserys rub his finger trying to stop the pain. "That finger of yours looks infected."

"You will do as your king ordered, to refuse is treason," Otto said beside Viserys as he signaled for the four guards that were in the room to advance on Naruto.

Viserys was about to tell the guard to stop when he heard serval mighty roars that shook the castle and everyone in King's Landing heard it as they looked to the side and saw three massive dragons flying around the castle.

"I think you forgot your plan, Snake." Naruto said as he looked at Otto, the guards who were approaching Naruto stopped as they looked out the window and saw one Cannibal's giant eyes looking in through a window. The stench of death filled the room as they could see the dragon was ready to be fed.

"All of you stop this at once," Viserys exclaimed, making everyone pause as he knew his brother would have no problem feeding Otto and the guards to his dragon. "Everyone leave me and my brother alone."

"But my king, what if he tries something?" Otto said, trying to remain in the room so he could manipulate Viserys.

"And what would you do if he does something be food for Cannibal," Viserys said as he knew that if Naruto wanted him dead there was nothing any of them could do "Now leave us."

Otto grit his teeth and stomped out of the room, but not before shooting Naruto a hateful look. The guards left in a hurry, wanting to be as far away from Cannibal as possible.

"Now send your dragon away," Viserys said as he looked at Naruto "Why don't you want to go and retrieve the egg."

"It is not my concern," Naruto stated with a disinterested look. "Besides, Daemon is doing this out of petty revenge because you decided to strip him of his position in the city watch and his claim to the iron throne."

"Sign I know, but he went too far. My wife and child just died, and he goes and parties, giving my dead son the title of heir for a day now he stole the egg I intended to give my son." Viserys said as he looked older with every word making Naruto pity him for a second.

"Okay, I can understand why you did what you did but why do you want me to get back the egg? You know that my methods of doing things are not gentle." Naruto asked as his brother should know that sending him on this mission might result in Daemon being unable to walk for weeks if not months.

"I know that," Viserys said and paused as he thought over what he wanted to say next "that is exactly why I want you to go, Daemon has to be punished for doing this when I am at my lowest, if he was not my brother I would have him executed."

Naruto walked over to Viserys as he reached the iron throne, grabbed his hand and looked at the bandages on his finger.

"That's a bad infection," Naruto said as he took off the cloth covering the finger. The flash was black and it smelled bad. "Why haven't the maesters amputated your finger yet?"

Viserys pulled his hand back from Naruto's grip and was irritated by his brother. He knew the infection was bad, but he didn't want to lose his finger.

"That is none of your concern now. Will you go to Dragonstone or not?" the king said as he covered his finger once more. "If not, I will just send Otto. At least he listens to my orders."

Naruto looked at his brother for a few moments, Viserys didn't flinch or turn from his gaze and finally the young prince spoke.

"Fine, I will go and get your egg." Naruto said as he decided he would do this for his brother, who was much too kind and soft-hearted to be king of anything. "I am sorry for your loss."

Viserys was speechless for a moment Naruto his free spirited brother who did what he wanted when he wanted who sometimes seemed more dragon than human was trying to give him comfort.

"Thank you," Viserys said as he watched Naruto depart, but a shiver went up his spine as he saw a savage grin on his younger brother's face. He pitied Daemon for a moment, but he did this to himself; actions have consequences. "Maybe I will forgive Daemon when he recovers, Family should stick together after all."

Viserys nodded his head after Naruto beats Daemon into submission, the king decided he wouldn't hold a grudge anymore.

King's Landing [Dragon Pit]

Alicent Hightower was alone in the pit under the castle where the Targaryens keep their dragons and where the dragons of past Targaryen live.

Alicent had been secretly using Rhaenyra to find out information on how the Targaryen bond with their dragons. It turns out it should come naturally for the most part; knowing some High Valyrian helps, so she made the princess teach her. The female Hightower had to make it look like she was just learning the language to be closer to her friend.

Rhaenyra didn't suspect a thing and was happy to teach her Hightower friend. Alicent felt bad for using the princess but she would make it up to her if it is proven they are cousins.

The Hightower decided that the time to act was now; she had to know if Otto was her father or if Naruto was.

She could not go by physical appearance, as she looked like a younger version of her mother. The one way and the fastest way is to see if she can bond with a dragon.

Alicent was desperate because Otto had been ordering her to seduce Viserys, something that disgusted her to her core. The king was a kind man but he was as old as her father and not her type.

The Hightower head wanted her to marry Viserys and become queen so he can gain power and influence, while she has to endure being the broodmare of someone she knew she could never love.

The whole relationship would be her being bred until he has a male heir. It would be hell for her and the only way to stop that is to finally find out if she's a bastard or not.

Now here Alicent found herself waiting for either her death or a dragon to bind with her; both ways will help her escape the cage Otto wants to put her in.

Alicent heard a growl behind her. She turned around and looked into two massive eyes, making her gulp. Maybe coming here wasn't the best idea, The female Hightower thought to herself.
