Chapter 2: Part 2 of Two-Shot

Kyoto Jujutsu High...

A blonde teen could be seen approaching; he had been given a mission that required him to cooperate with the sorcerers of the Kyoto Branch. He honestly didn't see why he had to work with anyone.

Entering the campus, he ignored everyone and continued to walk towards where he thought the principal's office would be; he was confronted by a tall, dark-haired teen who looked like a battle-hardened soldier mixed with an idiot.

"Who are you and what are you doing here?" the muscular teen asked.

Naruto didn't feel like answering any questions; he continued to walk, ignoring the teenager. The dark-haired male attacked, but Naruto's cursed technique protected him.

The blonde stamped his foot on the ground, using his curse technique to create a dust cloud that covered his escape. The blonde evaded the idiot and the others who were prepared to attack him.

He continued to walk until he reached a room that contained the person with the powerful cursed energy. He walked in without knocking to find an old man and a woman with a scar on her face.

"Are you Yoshinobu Gakuganji, old man" the blonde said

Hey, show some respect; he's the principal of this school," the scarred woman began to give a speech, but the blonde ignored her and dropped a scroll on the principal's desk.

The old man took the scroll and read the contents; he looked at the blonde and then back to the scroll. By the time he was done, he raised his hand, silencing the woman to Naruto's joy and it must have shown on his face because she was glaring at him.

"So you are Naruto Uzumaki, the jujutsu ninja who has been going around exorcising curses left and right," Principal Gakuganji stated.

"Yes, that's me," Naruto replied without a care. "Now can we get this mission over with?"

"One moment, young man. While I'm sure you can handle yourself, it would be wise to get to know your teammates before going on the mission. You can leave tomorrow with the team, but for the rest of today, you should get to know them," The Old Man lectured to the blonde's annoyance.

Naruto wanted to argue, but he knew a stubborn bastard when he saw one; the principal wouldn't budge on his decision, so Naruto just nodded.

"Excellent, Utahime, you have introduced our new friend here to the students he will be working with," the principal said. Before Utahime could reply, the muscular brute stormed through the door with a blue-haired girl, another that looked like a short-haired Maki, and a robot.

Naruto watched as the scarred woman shouted as the teens for entering the principal's office without knocking, sighed; this was going to be a long mission. He stole some glances at the Maki lookalike, noting she was also looking at him strangely.

Outside...

"My name is Utahime Iori, grade 1 sorceress and student supervisor at Jujutsu High," the scarred woman said. "The muscular idiot is Aoi Todo, the blue-haired girl is Kasumi Miwa, the girl with short dark hair is Mai Zenin, the robot is Mechamaru, the blonde girl is Momo Nishimiya, and finally, there's Noritoshi Kamo."

"No, we can't, the principal said you have to wait until tomorrow," she replied, receiving a sigh from the blonde male.

What is this mission you're talking about?" the Maki look-alike asked.

It's a high-level mission involving a stolen special grade cursed object." Naruto replied. "The chances of facing a special grade cursed spirit are high."

Mai turned to Utahime for confirmation which she gave, the reaction to the news varied; some were excited while others were scared, Naruto didn't seem to care he could handle the mission alone or at least escape if it was beyond his abilities.

"So I am assuming that the blond guy is a special grade sorcerer if he was assigned this mission," Todo said with a grin making Utahime even more worried.

"Yes, I am," the blonde replied. "The higher-ups want me to bring some of you with me as backup, but I don't need it to be honest."

"Is that so?" Todo said. "Then let's have a battle, Mr. Special Grade."

Utahime interrupted her, saying, "Now hold on." She continued, "We are supposed to be bonding, not fighting."

Todo replied while staring at the blonde. "Fighting is the purest form of communication there is."

"I don't mind fighting you," Naruto said. "But it's not my fault if you get hurt." That statement worried Utahime.

"So it is decided then," the muscular teen said with a smile. "Now, before we begin, what type of woman do you like?"

"Okay, so how are we going to find the cursed object?" Mai asked as the blonde pulled out a compass.

"This is a special cursed tool that can pinpoint high levels of curse energy, even if it has been sealed." Naruto explained. "Sukuna's fingers have a great amount of curse energy in them, so all we need to do is follow them."

"But wouldn't it lead us to all the powerful cursed objects nearby?" Miwa questioned.

"Yes, it would," the blonde said casually. "I know the general area where the cursed object is located, but since it will naturally attract cursed spirits to it, we will have to destroy a lot of them before we can retrieve it."

"So that’s why you need a team; so we can fight the smaller fish, so you don’t tire yourself out before facing a Special Grade Curse Spirit.†Todo stated.

Naruto replied, "I don't need a team; I can handle it myself." The higher-ups thought otherwise and assigned him a team.

Nighttime...

Naruto looked at the exhausted team; they had fought off several powerful curse spirits. He was impressed, to be honest. They hadn't found the cursed object yet, but they were on the right path. The curse spirits were attracted to the cursed object.

Naruto pulled out the compass and it pointed to an abandoned warehouse next to a boat yard; he could feel a large amount of cursed energy coming from within it.

"I'm going to go ahead and exorcise the Curse spirit." said Naruto "You can stay here and rest."

"What?" Mai exclaimed. "We are supposed to take on the special grade curse spirit together."

"Not necessarily," said Naruto, "we just need to complete the mission together; nobody said we have to fight the special grade curse spirit together. You would just get in the way." Naruto stated, seeing that they were exhausted and making them go into battle right now was like signing their death warrant.

"Like I would miss the chance to fight a powerful opponent," Todo said as he walked past the blonde, making his fellow Jujutsu High Sorcerers follow his lead.

Naruto looked at the idiots who were meeting their deaths; he supposed he was the same way. The blonde couldn't help but smile at the irony. He was now the level-headed one on the team, while the other members were hard-headed fools.

Warehouse...

Utahime put up a curtain to hide the battle that was about to take place from the general public, while Naruto summoned two of his Shikigamis which looked like giant toads; he was able to share his Curse Technique with them, making them a force to be reckoned with.

The blonde was able to overcome his curse technique's five second limit by giving one of his Shikigami his 'heart' and storing it within himself, effectively allowing him to use his curse technique indefinitely.

Since he stopped time, he isn't affected by much, but since his time is frozen, he technically doesn't expend any Curse Energy to use his Cursed techniques; the attacks he uses are simply how the world reacts to his Cursed techniques, not a Curse Energy-based ability.

Now there they stood in front of a cursed spirit that looked like a squid that had been pumped full of steroids with wings on its lower back. Naruto focused his senses and felt Sukuna's fingers releasing more curse energy onto the cursed spirit, meaning it must have used it to power itself up.

"So you are the ones who have been following me," the cursed spirit stated, looking at the sorcerers in front of him.

"Yes, we have been tracing you, we came to eliminate you," Todo replied as he charged the curse spirit with a grin.

The curse immediately attacked him with a massive amount of water, but the idiot was smarter than the blonde gave him credit for; he used his curse technique to switch places with the blonde, letting the attack hit the Uzumaki without doing any damage.

Naruto was surprised by what happened but just went with it; he swiped his hand through the water and it shot towards the cursed arm, ripping it off. But it instantly regenerated.

Naruto raised an eyebrow at the speed of the Curse Spirit's healing ability; it must have found a way to siphon off some of the King of Curses' energy to empower itself. But from the feel of the Curse Spirit, it had the power of a Special-Ranked Curse, or at least the potential for one even before it stole Sukuna's power.

The cursed spirit moved to attack, but was shot by a bullet fired by Mai, not damaging it but distracting it long enough for Miwa and Mechamaru to launch their attacks; Miwa with her katana and Mechamaru with blades from his arms.

The cursed spirit retaliated by surrounding itself with water, creating a barrier and sending out spikes from it. Naruto shielded them with his body and turned the air into blades, cutting the cursed spirit to pieces.

The pieces of the sorceress's spirit turned to water and reformed into its original form.

You are quite a powerful curse spirit," Naruto said. "Is it because you absorbed some of Sukuna's power?

"My name is Dagon," the cursed spirit replied. "Sukuna's power only unlocked my own potential; it did not grant me any new abilities."

"Is that so?" Naruto stated. "Well, let's put an end to this now."

Naruto put his fingers into a cross seal "Domain Expansion" at the same time Dagon also shouted "Domain Expansion". The two started a Domain Clash.

Half of the domain looked like a beach with fish shaped Shikigamis, while the other half was a black void with light moving around at blinding speeds.

The Kyoto High team looked around in amazement; they were being protected from the enemy's domain by the blondes. Dagon used his domain to attack everyone, but the blondes' domain retaliated.

It was a clash of water and light which ended with the cursed spirit on the ground defeated, his domain destroyed, the blonde was about to finish him off when he sensed a powerful being approaching, Naruto dodged the attack as his curse energy had depleted from expanding his domain.

The blonde took the time to watch the new enemy, which was another cursed spirit, a humanoid with roots growing out of its eyes and black marks all over its tan body.

"Who are you?" Naruto asked calmly as he used the time to recover from using his domain.

"My name is Hanami," the creature said as it got into a fighting stance.

"Hanami, are you Dagon's comrade?" Naruto asked to buy some time, but Hanami must have seen through his plan because instead of answering, it attacked.

The blonde used his Shikigami's to help him fight; the curse was definitely special grade, but while his curse technique was unusable after using Domain Expansion, he was still powerful and resourceful.

Hanami unleashed a curse attack with wood growing around it similar to wood release, the blonde used his toads to dodge it and countered by summoning more toad shikigamis to hide his presence and sneaking up on the spirit, using a black flash to send it flying.

The curse quickly regenerated and created several wooden spears, sending them at the blonde. He used his toad to suck in the wooden attacks; it was an ability his toads had. He could seal anything in them, but without his Curse Technique empowering them, whatever he sealed inside of them could escape. Simple attacks like what Hanami was making wouldn't be a problem to seal.

When the blonde looked around, the cursed spirits were gone from sight, but they hadn't gone far. He was about to give chase; his curse technique had recovered, he used Reverse Curse Techniques to speed up the process and he was ready to go full out.

The blonde looked at the team again and sighed, he knew leaving them like this was not ideal, but if a curse attacked now they were good as dead, he would have to go after these curses later but next time he would be ready.

Kyoto Jujutsu High...

Naruto helped the team back; he was disappointed that the curse had gotten away and was about to set out to track it down, but Utahime stopped him by reminding him that the mission was assigned to a team for a reason.

The blonde reluctantly agreed with her, as Sukuna's power naturally attracted curse spirits, so there would be curses of all grades surrounding him; if he went alone, he would be fighting curses of all grades nonstop.

She came up with a backup plan; she said the principal would talk to the higher-ups about the mission, and they would continue the assignment, but as a joint mission with Tokyo Jujitsu High School.

Naruto didn't like that idea because he would have to meet Maki again, and he didn't know how he would react when he saw her again; he must still have some resentment towards her if his treatment of Mai was any indication.

In the end, it was the best call; the mission seemed to have multiple Special Grade Curse Spirits working together, so the more help they got would increase the mission's success rate.

The only problem is that the mission would take place in three months' time, and they wanted him to remain at Kyoto Jujutsu High, which was a laughable idea; why would he stay there when he could be out traveling the world fighting curses with no one tying him down?
