Please Switch To Purchasing Patreon Subs Via Website

Please read this entire post, it's important, regardless of if you use the IOS app or not. Please, please don't use the IOS app to purchase Patreon subscriptions to me. I know I recently told you guys the IOS price was back to normal and Apple weren't charging you guys extra fees... but what I just found out is that if you purchase your Patreon subscription to me via the IOS app... I don't get that money for 75 days after your purchase. I was wondering why my Patreon payout was lower than it should be, and regardless of the drop in memberships, it's also because Apple is currently holding £400 that they won't give me yet, that I'm owed. Purchasing your membership via the website or the Android app means I get the money straight away, but with the Apple app I won't get that money for 75 days, over 3 months later. And you can't tell people or companies "yes I owe you this rent/bill/whatever but I do have the money I just can't give it to you for three months because Apple has it".

Also, a couple of months ago Apple started charging 'app fees' so every time you purchase a membership to me (or anyone else on Patreon) Patreon takes their usual fee but now Apple also take a fee so I'm making less money. The 'app fee' Apple took from me last month was almost £100, when it used to be zero.

If you're a current member and your membership is set to renew please consider cancelling it and then just instantly going to the website (via PC or the internet browser app on your phone) and re-join there. If you're not a member but are thinking of joining then please consider signing up via the website. Or if you use the Android app you're fine, the Android app give me the money almost straight away and don't charge me fees.

I've been open on stream that I've been stressing about money. The amount of money I make through Patreon is going down mostly due to less members, and this is in no way trying to guilt trip you guys. I would rather you pay your rent and bills and food and health care and anything else important before you give me money, and there's ways to support me for free like watching ads on my Youtube or Twitch or just commenting on, liking and sharing my posts to help boost them in the algorithms. But to realise that on top of that, I've now got this extra stress of losing even more money because Apple is not only charging me fees every time someone purchases a membership via the Apple app store but also that they're holding onto my money for 75 days.

Please consider helping me out, and anyone else you are Patreon members of, by switching to paying via the website. If you don't have access to a PC, you can still get to the website on your phone's browser whether that's the Safari app or the Google Chrome app of whatever in-built internet app your phone has.

I don't recall getting any emails about these changes and I'm kinda pissed that Apple can just decide I don't get as much money and/or I don't get my money for ages whenever they want. Second Edit: Also I found out, the IOS app is actually still making subscriptions more expensive. So if you purchase your membership via the app store you are potentially being charged more than other Patreon members who used the website or Android app. There are settings for either me to have IOS prices more expensive to cover Apple's fee, or lower the price and I pay the fee. But the fee is too much I'm sorry guys I can't be paying that. But... when I checked my settings it was already set to 'the buyer pays the fee' not me... and yet I'm still being charged Apple fees.. So I don't understand.
