I need some feedback on the gender tags on Patreon audios.

So, as you guys have probably seen recently with the release of my new drawn height chart and body reference of my OCs, a bunch more of my audio OCs are trans than I had originally planned. This means although characters like Lucien and Silk are now trans men, they're audios are tagged with 'M4A' 'M4M' tags when if I had planned them to be trans from the start I would have used the 'TM4A' 'TM4M' tags. So what to do about that.

Originally I had said that 'M4A' means the male speaker could be cis or trans but it's up to interpretation, that it isn't stated one way of the other in that specific audio. And that I would only use 'TM4A' if the speaker character mentioned being trans in the audio. But... I've been using 'TM4A' for characters like Ambrose and Valentine even when they don't mention being trans because it felt wrong to use 'M4A' when they are trans, I didn't want to seem like I was erasing that.

1. We do away with the typical gender tagging. Instead if 'M4A' 'M4M' defining the speaker and the listener, we will just have listener tags such as 'gender neutral listener' 'male listener' 'trans man listener' etc. Because I don't know if you guys really care about the gender of who's speaking, and instead are probably just looking for an audio for your gender. And I currently don't have any tag or anyway to see all my 'trans man listener' audios, you'd have to check 'M4TM' and 'TM4TM' and 'GF4TM' and 'NB4TM' separately to find all of them and I think that must be annoying.

2. We keep the gender tagging we have, but we say 'M' is for characters that aren't clearly cis or trans, and 'TM' is for characters who are trans regardless of if it's said in the audio. So all of Lucien and Silk and everyone else's audios would be in the 'TM' tags and no longer in the 'M' tags since they are canonically trans.

3. We do both. Keep the gender tagging we have for people who do only want to listen to a specific gendered-speaker and want to be able to search via that. But also add tags for the listener gender in case anyone wants to search just for any speaker or any gender as long as it's for trans men, or for women, etc.

Please vote here and you can also comment any feedback or ideas if you want too.

i think option 3 is the best for the ability to be more detailed in searches through tags. it totally sounds like the most work though so i do feel bad suggesting it, but it sounds like the most complete solution.

3 would be the most work to implement, but sounds like the best option ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹ i often search for both tm speaker or tm listener audios regardless of the other gender tag. this would also be a more versatile tagging system in general :]

3 feels like the best to me, that way its easier to search by either preference

Demeter

Either option 1 or 3, I honestly don't mind.

I only feel comfortable listening to TM speaker audios, so I’m really excited for this update 🫶

For me 3 makes the most sense. People who like it the way it is now can keep doing that. Adding the extra tag allows people who want to filter specifics to do so and find exactly what they're looking for. Win-win.
