I’ve watched this show a dozen times. Think must have been my 5th or 6th rewatch before I stopped crying every time Lori tells Carl not to let the world spoil him.

The whole episode is devastating, but Rick’s reaction at the end breaks me every. Single. Time. That scene is in the top three of the hardest I’ve ever cried watching something. Chandler was so good as a young actor in such an emotionally complex episode, and Andrew Lincoln is such an amazing fucking actor it’s incredible.

To be fair, many characters are just as good but Lincoln is one of the few that gets the opportunity of screen time And strong lines while the others are forced to blend in background

Never seen spartan cry. This gets me too. That’s how good Andrew Lincoln’s acting is.

Rick's tears at the end 🥲 Man, rick never experienced in his childhood living in a world where he had to" put down" his own mother under those circumstances. That look at Carl saying "oh, no" feels so layered under Rick's pain in knowing that... still cuts me real deep in the feels.

To echo what many have said, obstruction in labour more often than not is fatal for the mother and baby without medical intervention. So Lori’s logic was that she was dead anyway. But the baby could be saved via caesarean. Also yes she would pass out and die quickly from the pain and hypovolemic shock. Such a rough episode 😭😭😭

Lori was dead regardless, there's no way she was going to survive, so it made sense to try and save the baby if possible

Such a HUGE episode, unlocks a new character arch for Rick of course but sticks with Carl's throughout the entirety of the show🖤🖤🖤

Lori really had no choice than to deliver via c-section. They mentioned earlier in the show that Carl was a csection baby, which increases the odds of needing one for this birth (which is why they practiced for it so much).
Given all the blood when she tried to push, something wasn't right. There's a reason childbirth was so deadly before modern medicine. That baby wasn't gonna come out on its own, which would have eventually killed them both.

So about her "choosing" a c-section. she had no choice. Lori was always gonna die. Her anatomy wouldve never allowed her to do vaginal birth. So she'd have to do a c-section. She couldn't have waited bc then that would jeopardize the baby's life. And if the baby dies in the womb, she especially couldn't do vaginal birth. She could only do a c-section, which means she wouldve always died. For Lori's predicament, her only choice to do a c-section then and there. It's the only way either one of them wouldve lived.

T-dog was the featured guest in Talking Dead after show. You can find departing characters in each after show episode. On YT just type talking dead 304 for this episode.

During filming, the actress playing Maggie almost walked off set and quit because she felt this episode was too much/dark. Glad she didn't and stuck around

I sob through this episode every single time...and I've probably seen it 20 times or more. It always hits hard. I feel like we need the 3x5 reaction NOW so we can check in on how S&P are doing.

tough one. "He just got lines!" Something I realized with this show (it happens in a lot of dramas, but this one more than others) is whenever someone is going to get killed off, they get more of a spot light that week. Especially, if they are a tertiary character.
