The part where they were watching the guy on the screen - the belter who was racing, Bizi, he was "slingshotting" around large orbitals, its where you hug a large orbital like a moon or something and let the gravity pull you to higher speeds as you move around it, then you launch off it in the direction you want after its accelerated you like crazy. It's called a "slingshot" maneuver in most Sci-Fi movies. A good visual of something like that would be in the movie Armageddon, when they slingshotted around the moon and went super fast and then came up behind the asteroid.

@Spartan Big ships like the Donnager usually dont fly around solo, they usually have fleet or at least a squadron escorting them. Their weaponry ( except their point defense cannons or PDC ) is designed to fight other large ships whilst their escort deals with the riff-raff. Small agile ships like the ones you could see could "get under their guns" meaning they cant apply their damage on them becasue they are way too fast and maneuverable. Also, their tech is really advanced as you could hear when they said that the guidance of their missiles are very good and the PDCs had issues targeting them. Their downfall was complacency. To their knowledge besides Earth there was nobody in the system who had the military tech and balls to take on the Donnager. They waited too long and were forced to fight the ships at close range. If they were to engage them from long range they would've had a better chance. As you could see the ships in the show have no shields, except good old projectile weapons, missiles and railgun which is basically a magnetic accelerator firing metal slabs.

It's the Knight. The Canterbury was probably named after Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, and the first tale is The Knight's Tales.

I remember when I first watched this show the first 3 eps got me interested, but this episode hooked me

The little ship that Naomi called her rust bucket was called the Night or the knight but I think it’s the first one

What you should know by now: Holden and crew are on the earth ship the Canterbury -> Holden and crew take a small dingy ship to inspect a ship with a distress call, named the scopulai (where we first saw Julie) but no one can be found -> mysterious ships come and destroy the Cant -> Holden and crew are rescued by the Mars ship the “Donneger” and interrogated for the attack on the Cant -> same mystery ships attack the donneger and the captain orders the head marine (Lopez) to get Holden and crew off the ship so they can testify that it was not mars -> Holden and crew secure a new ship and get out before the Donneger self destructs

Sometimes women in military or policing leadership prefer to be called Sir because they feel it garners more instant respect from men under their command than Ma’am, which it shouldn’t, of course but, you know, sexism still exists in the 24th century apparently. ‘Scuttle the ship’ means to sink/destroy your own ship so your enemy can’t get it. (Traditional naval lingo from 15th century Earth history for real.) Glad you’re enjoying the space action!

I think for a lot of people who weren’t invested after the first three episodes really got sucked in to the show on this episode. Excited to watch the reaction 🚀
