Better Call Saul 6x8 Uncut Reaction

Comments

I’m not seeing any Better Call Saul uncuts past Season 6 Episode 8. Have you not released anymore?

Tim

its alluded to that Gus was a military member in Chile in his life before Pollos and Madrigal. Nothing about this show or BB suggests hes a bad shot

Joel

I hate that there is no audio for uncuts

Chiago Ohanekwu

wow just noticed lalo saying to jimmy “you keep pulling that trigger until its empty” and what does gus do later?

micah

To be fair, Mike got into “the game” before Hector killed the innocent man, namely, bc he needed money when he first arrived in NM to help support his daughter in law, and then decided to go even further into “the game” by targeting Hector’s truck and stealing the money hidden in the tires. The innocent man getting killed was after this.

N M

Howard and Lalo together under what will be the lab is crazy. Two extremely different characters one on the side of the law and one completely hardened criminal. I think of Hank and Gomez buried in the desert where no one knew until Walt told Skylar over a year later.

Lyn Hurst

Gus is not as a good shoot as Lalo, not even close lol. The main power of Gus is mental. His preparation for a plan B, together with a bit of luck (and together with plot armor) was the reason for his victory. The only thing able to kill Lalo the ghostly demon could only have been one: a shot in the dark.

Alberto Gobbi

Yeah finally hearing from your opponent what they really thought would have been so satisfying to your own ego that you were indeed completely right this whole time.

AlrightThere

Such a tragic ending.

AlrightThere

Apparently, everyone was freaked out as they would be watching someone standing delivering lines and then out cold. One of my aunts passed this way.

After everything Mike has gone through. Here he is, burying a body of an innocent man so that his family will never know what happened to him. The complete total fucking opposite of what he used to stand for. The whole fucking reason he got into this was because it didn't sit right with him that Hector killed an innocent man.

Pablo

I'm sure this is the reason why Saul and Mike don't really get along in Breaking Bad. Their relationship must have died out through the years due to Mike knowing that Jimmy low-key got a man killed who wasn't in the game.

Pablo

Jim, Nacho, Eladiohh!?!? what is going on today 😂😂

big harsher

In the scene at the start Bob Odenkirk who plays saul actually died from a heart attack for a few minutes before being resuscitated, you can't even tell that half of it was shot months later

James Waters

With the shootout in the lab most of Lalo's shots were into the dark at a moving target while Gus fired all of his shots at a stationary target in a known position pinpointed by Lalo's own muzzle flash.

Side note - whatever Gus is paying Lyle is not enough

Steven

Lalo shot Gus twice in the Meth Lab hole — 1 bullet hit the vest, and the other got Gus near his hip side/flank. Gus was able to hit Lalo at least once in the neck. I think that they both had a decent chance of coming out on top — it’s just that Gus had both home field advantage AND the bullet proof vest. So it was a realistic outcome. (The first thing Lalo should have done after killing Gus’s men was to make Gus take off the vest, which was obvious to Lalo, but he apparently felt wasn’t needed bc he intended to shoot him in the face.)

N M

Howards death is so depressing man, he had no business being mixed up in any of this and going down like that. You can tell at the end how much it eats at Mike knowing Howard was not in the game at all but also knew what Kim and Jimmy did to him prior to his death. So not only does it burden him that an innocent man died, but that he is the only person besides who knew that his life was effectively destroyed by Kim and Jimmy right before he was killed. At least Howard was finally shown respect by someone, Mike, doing the only thing you can do to show respect to someone who is dead, which is being careful with the body.

Steven

During the shooting of this episode is when Bob Odenkirk suffered his heart attack where he needed CPR & multiple shocks from a defibrillator to be stabilized. Considering all the emotion of this episode just from the storytelling perspective it is hard to imagine a real life life or death situation played out as well adding to the emotional stakes of the episode & series.

Jason Sadowski

In my opinion, I think Lalo wanting to hear Gus out at the end kind of makes sense. He didn’t know the full extent of Gus’ hatred. And if you remember, Gus even counted the footsteps it would take to make it to the gun. It’s crazy how much you pick up on a rewatch

Jorge De Guzmán

Howard did not deserve to die. I think the writers did a brilliant job making everyone love Howard at the end. While he didn't deserve to die, the writers caused everyone to forget what a douche he was. He let Chuck hide his hatred for Jimmy behind him and did his dirty work for years and years. He was shit to Kim. But, does that deserve death? Hell no. But then again, Jimmy and Kim didn't kill him. Everyone forgets that Lalo killed him. You can tie every decision they ever made to his death but that's stretching it. They are less guilty for Howard's death than Walt is for Hank's death. Walt called Jack and Todd (even if he told them not to come). Jimmy and Kim did not call Lalo.

Andrew Ramos

I really hope you guys react to this after you finish the series. It's a two-part behind-the-scenes documentary of the cast and crew as they wrap the series called, "Series Adjourned, Saying Goodbye to Saul". It's really emotional, and an amazing way to remember all the amazing scenes and actors on the show. It would be GREAT reaction fodder, and a nice way to wrap up all you've invested in these reactions. https://youtu.be/4dHc0-ru--A?si=MzEzRphYewbUTVsb https://youtu.be/HIyZ176_99U?si=2FseP6e8Z-kA9Kke

Arthur

Lalo shot him again though! Where Gus was getting patched up was a different spot than where he got hit in the body armor. Lalo was inches away from claiming the territory and potentially being the villain for Walter

Jorge De Guzmán

If it makes you feel better, Patrick Fabian (Howard) and Tony Dalton (Lalo) are good friends in real life. Laloward. Tony Dalton had said him and Howard being buried together was very romantic lol

Christopher

Never be able to see the lab in breaking bad the same way ever again

Erin

Crazy to think that next episode is even better that these last 2 and even crazier is that on top of that there some episodes left that are even better.

Pablo

Sorry to spam but this is just such a great episode. And were talking about the final fight scene. I went back to the shootout between Gus and Lalo. Closed my eyes and just listened to the shots. I counted between 8-10 rounds fired. I think Gus had a revolver that holds 5 rounds and he shot all of them. Lalo has a pistol which could hold between 6-8 by the looks of it, he was hit before he fired off all of his rounds. Definitely some left in the pistol when Gus stepped on it. You can also notice this with the sound difference of each shot if you’re as obsessed as I am! Lalo wasted most of his rounds shooting at a moving target in the dark, like I said he is a genius but not as genius as Gus and probably in the heat of the moment thought Gus was trying to hide and maybe was not running for a loaded revolver. The last few shots sound different, the revolver shots coming from Gus.

Tbf without Saul’s help Walter would be in jail . This show showed us that jimmy is the main villain , he helped walter launder money + was involved in poisoning Brock + suggesting that they should kill Hank ( go to Belize if you remember the line in bb ) .

Hamad

It’s also so interesting to see your reaction. When I watched this when it aired, week to week, I was rooting for Jimmy and Kim and loving their plans to take down Howard. I felt bad about Howard’s death but not to this level. Maybe because what you guys have watched in 2 or 3 weeks was 8 weeks for me. Never felt such sympathy for Howard, but I get it now, also never thought anything with Lalo was rushed, but that’s over 8 weeks or so, always pining for the next episode.

Bill B.

And thinking about it, Chuck is genius level, but too much for his own good, he was so much smarter than anyone else in his orbit that it led to his self induced downfall.

Bill B.

Oooh that is a good pickup!!!

Bill B.

Genius

Bill B.

Vince Gilligan, creator of the BB and BCS universe, said after this aired that in all of these shows, there are three certified geniuses. Lalo, Gustavo, and Walter. Many genius moves before this, but here we see Lalo a genius to send Kim as a decoy. Gus a genius to know that when “Jimmy convinced him to send me” it meant that it was a decoy, the lavandería was the real target. And a genius for knowing Lalo would need proof so he hid the gun in the tractor wheel in advance. And in BB, Walter is the most genius in that he uses Hectors pride to convince him to kill himself and take out Gustavo at the same time. The writing is just out of this world! And these last two episodes are some of the best back to back episodes of all time, in any television series.

Bill B.

Minor, but yes, “hijo de puta” means “son of a bitch”. And I had the same reaction realizing that the whole time Walt and Jesse were cooking in the super meth lab, they were walking over the bones of Lalo and Howard. 😱🤯

Bill B.

Jimmy deserves more than Walter what's coming to him? Are we forgetting some of the fucked up shit Walter did? He literally watched someone overdose instead of saving them for his own benefit due to his obsession with making money 😅

Jasper

Kim once said to Mr. Acker when she was little her mother used to wake her up in the middle of the night so they could run away from the landlord. She said she always had to run without her shoes so her feet got all cold in the night. Now she's in shock after Howard's death, barely able to think, and Lalo asks her to leave on a mission. Her first instinct is to leave the apartment barefoot, her child instinct came in, she didn't even think about it, she was just that little kid.

Pablo

Gus knew where lalo was because lalo had the camera that had a red light + the flash of light when you fire a gun

Hamad

Howard hit his head on the way to the floor just like Chuck in 24hr copy shop.

Tim Martin

Here we go! Howard and Lalo buried under the meth lab is so crazy. Makes rewatching BB so much more interesting. Such a good episode.
