Better Call Saul 6x7 Uncut Reaction

Comments

They made Howard look crazy like they did to Chuck. I'm glad Howard called them out before he died at least.

MarisoL

BCS *is* Breaking Bad, but it's the story of how Jimmy and Kim broke bad. They are not good people this season up to this point. They did Howard so dirty. He didn't deserve any of this.

John Neiberger

When I first watched this episode, I was initially worried Lalo was going to die based off his “goodbye” phone call with Hector (similar to Nacho and his father). As soon as he saw the cockroach, I got excited “he’s going to see Jimmy”. So fucking good

Walt

100k That's the price

Pablo

Hinted, not spoiled, that someone might die, not necessarily Howard

N M

you know it’s serious when spartan hits that pose. rip howie 😔

big harsher

😭

CpaSpartan Pudgey

The subtle hint with Lalo seeing the cucaracha. In the apartment every time the door opens, the candle flickers. Chefs kiss

Cs Zoltan

I think this is the worst death in the whole breaking bad universe. Everyone else Hank, Nacho, Gus, Walt, Mike, Everyone knew they were in deep shit, they were in the game. Howard's death is so fucking unnecessary and not deserved at all. Man did absolutely nothing wrong and what makes it so diferent and so much more devastating is also the fact that as soon as it happens we as the audience know 100% that this crime will go unpunished. Jimmy will get away with it. He has to, because we know the future from breaking bad and he still practices law and everything. Honestly the only other death on this universe that I would put on the same level as this is Chuck's. Just depressing shit.

Pablo

just an absolutely devastating episode

micah

Spartan had mentioned that Nacho was the Hank of this show. But i have to say, that description fits better on Howard. Think about it. Both Hank and Howard are an antagonist to the protagonist of each show but never in a direct way, not until the final season. Also both characters get their lives destroyed midway through the series, the main character helps them get back on their feet and they recover through the second half of the series just to meet their end because of the main character being involved with dangerous people even tho they themselves never wanted them to be killed. Also their death is the main catalyst for the last leg of the series and the downfall of everything.

Pablo

So funny. Felt like a flashback to how they felt after Ozymandias in that post discussion as well. So hilarious the show has them fuming with these twists.

Connor W

I also want to point out the foreshadowing of Howards fate. Howard rotates the soda can just like Lalo rotates the suppressor on the gun before he kills Howard at the end. Just amazing writing that this show does each and every time.

Connor W

For me personally this is where BCS surpassed BB. This episode was an immaculate tapestry of connected strings perfectly in line with what we know about the characters. From the episode title to the shot of Howard hitting his head like Chuck. Also I'm sure it's been said in the comments before but the actors who play Jimmy, Kim, and Howard all lived together for many years during filming in Albuquerque so filming this scene must have been equally fun and devastating.

Paul Walker

I laughed so hard at their reaction, I almost woke up my wife. I had to hold it in and immediately started coughing. It hurt. But man...such a good episode and an equally wonderful reaction.

Tyler Hargrove

D-day? D-day.

temsik28

Kim and Jimmy were as horrified as we were. Lalo is at fault here. If he didn't show up Howard's statements would've gotten Kim and Jimmy to soul search a bit.

macc61

Oh booooyyy I cannot wait for this reaction!!!!

Bill B.

I'm sorry, but that post-depressive episode outro was so funny.

Arthur

I agree with you for the most part. I still think that if Kim had told Jimmy that Lalo was still alive that he would have stopped the plan on Howard to keep her safe. In the last episode Jimmy even told Kim on the phone that they should just scrap the plan and regroup but Kim insisted. Kim is slightly more responsible for that information that she knew but they are both responsible for doing what they did. Either way they are villains and just disturbed for doing what they did.

Connor W

Howard has become my favorite after this episode. I'll always defend Howard.

Minerva Ravenclaw

F**k this show...f**k this show". We knew Spartan was gonna let loose on that scene. Kim and Jimmy, what can u say? Actually, Howard said it perfectly when he said they are soul less but he sniffed out their plan when talking to Cliff and then threw it at them before Lalo came in. Wrong place, wrong time. Brutal way for Howard to go.

David Cansler

One of the most upsetting episodes, like watching a train wreck in real time.

Yeast

Both Jimmy and Kim are equally responsible for what happened to Howard. Neither deserves more blame than the other. They both had multiple opportunities to stop and they chose not to. Kim might have turned around last episode, but Jimmy could have easily put his foot down and told her no. He didn't because he enjoyed it just as much as she did.

Evan

When I first watched this episode when it aired, I burst into tears. That’s never happened to me with any other show (and I’m still salty about some deaths. I’m looking at you, Oberyn Martell). But the injustice of Howard’s ending is just too much. Ugggh. And Kim & Jimmy… what can you say? They set out to destroy him. They succeeded, I suppose. It’s infuriating and heartbreaking. Anyway, great reaction, guys. I truly cannot wait to see the rest. 😊

Shay

I think it's important to remind yourself that Jimmy actually never wanted to be involved with the Salamancas. It's easy to blame him for Howard's death because of his connection to the Salamancas, but if you remember, his initial involvement with Tuco came as a complete accident (the skateboard twins hitting the wrong car which ended up leading Jimmy to Tuco's grandma's house). Then the next time he got involved after Nacho picked him up off the street as he was walking and eating his mint chocolate chip ice cream; he had to get in that car or else they would've killed him. They forced him to represent Krazy 8 so they could set up Gus and have the DEA get him. Even after Jimmy helped them with that, he told Lalo that he needs to find another lawyer for future business, and Lalo told him no. Then of course Lalo gets picked up, and once again Jimmy is forced to represent him as well. Every step of the way, Jimmy was forced to work for the cartel, because he knew what could happen to him if the refused.

rs

Anyone notice how Kim is indirectly responsible for Both Nacho’s and Howard’s death, unwittingly setting off the key moments that lead to their deaths? Kim gave that speech to Lalo calling him out for not having men he can fully trust. Lalo agrees with this assessment and decides he can trust Nacho (given for example how Nacho climbed a building to retrieve drugs before the police got there) and takes him with him to Mexico. If Kim hadn’t said that Nacho would not have been exposed as a rat by letting the hit squad in, as he wouldn’t be there, and obviously by turning her car around and refusing to abandon the plan it led to Howard’s death

Josh Gibson

Howard's death is the most tragic in the Breaking Bad universe hands down. When you called Nacho the "Hank of Better Call Saul" all I could think was "just you wait." Howard wasn't in the game, he wasn't a criminal, he was a completely innocent person who was in the wrong place at the wrong time whose only mistake was ever associating with Jimmy and Kim. I watched this live and we had a 2 or 3 month wait after this episode and let me tell you, it was unbearable. You were never meant to root for Jimmy and Kim. What they were doing to Howard was disgusting, unnecessary, and tragic. His final monologue was absolutely fantastic and he was absolutely 100% correct in everything he said. Absolutely tragic, I felt gutted when I heard that gunshot. I was fuming as well, but I had to wait several months to see what came next lmao. You nailed it though Spartan, as tragic as Nacho's death was, he was in the game and I feel like we all always knew deep down he probably wasn't gonna make it out alive. It is the Breaking Bad universe after all. But Howard? Killed by Lalo? Idk anyone who would've seen that coming

Pogger White

They did Howard dirty.. and pudgey calling a supressor a nozzle is the best thing I've heard all year

DRIP DROP

If you've ever dealt with depression and had to affirmatively say "I will be okay" and truly believe it, just to have it all taken away by a drug lord because you were in the wrong place at the wrong time is tragic. Howard held the burden of thinking Chuck's death was his fault and now Jimmy and Kim will have the burden of knowing Howard's death was their fault/

Steven

Howard immediately de-escalating...dude was the only morally sound person mixed up in this cruel universe :'(

Steven

Howard’s death was senseless and devastating. It didn’t have to happen. Jimmy and Kim were doing just fine. Jimmy’s sus lawyer practice was gaining momentum, and with the influx of cartel money, they had no issues saving money. The Sandpiper settlement wasn’t essential, and while Kim’s PD work wasn’t lucrative, it still brought in a second income. The real motive to target Howard for the thrill and the challenge is fucking sad. Howard may have had his flaws, but after Chuck’s death, he was genuinely trying to grow, to be better. He didn’t deserve to be humiliated, harassed, and manipulated. Not the vandalized car. Not the several hookers. Not the gaslighting or the drugs. And certainly not the destruction of his reputation. Howard's undeserving death makes me feel bad for ever enjoying the early days of him getting dunked on by Jimmy's and Kim's pranks

Steven

The title spoiled this episode without anyone knowing...Plan and Execution

Steven

This show is excellent at misdirection. When the knock at the door happens I remember thinking we’re supposed to think it’s Howard but it will be Lalo. But when it turned out to be Howard I thought oops well I was wrong, and it never occurred to me Lalo would also show up Similarly I never suspected the PI was a plant because I thought Mikes guys will see the PI following and Mike would alert Kim and Jimmy and that’s how they get the upper hand over the PI and Howard.

Josh Gibson

Howard said it perfectly jimmy was always like this and Kim biggest mistake is not leaving him .

Hamad

We did it! We broke them 💪 GGs everyone 👏

block

One of the best episodes of TV ever.

Matt Flynn

Let's talk... I loved how you had no suspicion about the PI. Being excited about him potentially catching Jimmy and Kim had me excited for the reveal. I also loved when Spartan said, "you never know who's going to be collateral with Lalo." You sure don't! In terms of what's better... I think there's more good characters, and the writing is a lot more tight/poignant in BCS. If I had to pick, I guess I'd say BCS. The additions of Nacho, Kim, Lalo and Howard take it to the next level, but really, I have a hard time even separating them by the end. It feels like one giant cohesive story/show. Jimmy already thought Lalo was dead and resurrected once now, so that experience would probably stick with him in the future.

J_Fley .

Pudgey was talking about more realizations, when Lalo was in the sewer you can see when he gets the idea to visit jimmy when he sees the cockroach, a throwback to when he called him a cucaracha in jail when meeting kim

jdawg

Maaaaan was I waiting to see this reaction for so long, the last time I remember you guys this upset was when y’all reacted to the Red Wedding. As much as it hurt this is one of the greatest scenes in TV history.

Wes

I remember they had to stop filming for a while. Bob said he hated the story line with Howard.

Lyn Hurst

We also had to wait nearly two months after this episode😭 I remember watching it for the first time with my dad and we were both so shocked, literally couldn’t speak afterwards

Erin

Nicole

You guys should watch the actor who plays Howard talk about how he learned his characters fate and what his thoughts were overall. It was a very healing experience for me after watching this episode 😂

Nicole

Bob odenkirk had a heart attack because of this btw

Erin

Also for anyone wondering how Lalo turned up at Jimmy's and Kim's place: He saw the cockroach (spanish cucaracha) and thought of jimmy since he called him that when he spoke to Kim

ynnk99

Im at work but you bet I'll be watching this when I get out. This is the one I've been waiting for

Pogger White

Man that second flickering of the candle. Instant goosebumps, no matter how often I watch this.

ynnk99

Pudgey: “I get nervous for every civilian that interacts with Lalo” Spartan: “yeah I know, cause you know there’s gonna be collateral” Me: “oh boy”

Jason wolfe

GAMEDAY 😤😤💥

david p

The moment is here. We have been waiting for this. The Ozymandias of BCS. Howard got cooked like a turkey at Christmas and got unlucky really badly. Can't wait to see the reaction at the end.

Connor W

Been waiting for this all day😬😬

Erin

Spartan after Nacho’s death: Can’t believe they made Nacho the Hank of this show The whole community: Ah shit, here we go again

Alex I.

Here we go!!!! 🎉

Tim Martin

So excited for this episode!

Artin Dadgar

Strap yourself in! Lesssgoooo! Ep. 8 needs to follow this (as if S&P have nothing else to do). However, it is like a two parter episode 7 and 8.

Lyn Hurst

Guys this is the reason why we're all here. Enjoy it.
