Not only are there two worlds interacting like pudgey is saying, those 2 worlds are able to SPLIT and create multiple pathways for the same character: World 1 Jonas who never meets alt martha on apocalypses day and becomes Adam, and World 1 Jonas who meets alt martha but dies in Evas world (world 2). The same alt martha with the cut on her face was able to interact with both of these different pathway versions of Jonas from his same world with her ball device. The question is how or why the pathway split happens its easy to get confused since world (Adams, Evas), timeline (past, present) and pathway (Dead Jonas, Adams Jonas) can all seem similar on first watch

This is what caused the nuclear waste in the yellow barrels and (someone correct me) this is what opened the portal in the cave in the 1980s in world 1

2025-06-02 13:23:19 +0000 UTCThe branching happens during apocalypse in world 1. They call it ‘quantum entanglement’ but I think ‘quantum superposition’ is more accurate. Quantum superposition in basic terms means two states happening at the same time: an electron spin is up and down at the same time, a cat is dead and alive, Jonas is dead in world 1 but alive in world 2. Quantum entanglement refers to two particles being ‘correlated’ e.g., measuring the spin of one particle instantly determines the spin of the other one even if they are miles apart. What Einstein called spooky action at a distance. I think quantum entanglement technically is a type of superposition but that’s advanced stuff 🙂

2025-06-02 13:12:31 +0000 UTCWhat's really is crazy is looking back to Season 2 and trying to figure out which version of Jonas we're watching. The version that went to world 2 with Martha or the version that lived through the apocalypse. I remember back in Season 2 he said something about seeing horrible things and that line never made sense. Because it seemed like his whole life was just time traveling as a teen. But now we understand. That was the Jonas who never went to world 2. Right? Or am I completely wrong?

The closer you get to the end, the less things make sense. This show really forces you to have complete faith that the writers know what they're doing.
