It was his way of telling them that they could figure out this mess for themselves and he wouldn't be doing them any favors. He did the best he could and went out on his own terms. Absolute madman

I think others might have already said but Jimmy says his name in Breaking Bad when he was kidnapped by Walt and Jesse, he mentions Ignacio and Lalo.

Like Bolsa said, there are good deaths and bad deaths, and Nacho got the best death he could hope for given the circumstances. He recognized that there was no way out and he would be hunted forever, so he went out on his own terms. It’s one of the best scenes in the franchise and an incredible performance by Nacho’s actor, Michael Mando.

2025-06-02 00:16:04 +0000 UTCAlso, as far as “the plan”, it was just plainly to have Nacho killed in a way that protects Gus and his father. There was no “other plan” between Nacho and Mike; their nods to each other were very much goodbyes. The only deviation was that, like y’all said, Nacho went out on his own terms. The show definitely wanted you to think there was a way out, though. To quote the showrunner Peter Gould, “the twist is that there is no twist”

But, unfortunately, when literally every single other person in the scene is in Breaking Bad, there’s only one way out of this one :/
