We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.  Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. Do NOT start more shows with famously poor endings.

In regards to Chuck's letter - Unlike Jimmy, Kim didn't see between the lines of the letter. She took the words at face value – a heartfelt tribute from brother to brother hence her tears. She could also be crying because of how numb Jimmy has become to Chuck. She didn't know how badly their last (you've never mattered that much to me) conversation went and didn't register the condescending tone beneath the surface of Chuck's prose. Plus, this letter was during the time Jimmy was in the mailroom which is where Chuck wanted Jimmy to be.

Joe Lazarus

Me too. GG watcher.

Lyn Hurst

Yes, I noticed her immediately too! I wonder if she's still with Zach or not and how she got from Stars Hollow to ABQ

Cs Zoltan

The dude is Ira who runs Vamanos Pest. If you remember Saul tells Walt and Jesse that Ira and his gang are burglars. However i too was hoping for Bill Burr (Kuby) when i fist watched the episode

Duncan

Fuck noooo way The Walking Dead. It’s so insanely long and stale.

Sean van Hengel

Gotta give Spartan some love. That was an excellent use of the word "exposition". haha

Better Call Saul is so brilliantly written that it naturally endears us to Jimmy. We see his struggles, his charm, and his resilience, so we root for him. But I can’t help but wonder… if the show were told from Chuck’s perspective, wouldn’t we be on his side? Chuck, in his mind, did everything right, excelled in school, built a prestigious career, upheld the law, while Jimmy constantly broke the rules and still managed to be loved, even by their own mother. Imagine growing up with someone like Jimmy. We only see the last years of their relationship, when Jimmy is helping Chuck. But we don’t see the decades before that—years where Chuck was likely the one looking after Jimmy, bailing him out, cleaning up his messes, watching him charm his way out of consequences. Jimmy is so ridiculously charismatic that even we as the audience fall for it. We get a taste of what it feels like to be sold to by Jimmy, to be pulled into his world, to want to believe in him. And in the end, despite everything, their mother’s final words were for Jimmy. The show makes us feel for Jimmy, but there’s tragedy in Chuck’s story too. It’s incredible how the writing plays with perspective and empathy.

Pudgey, I might be your one subscriber who has also watched Gilmore Girls, so in response to your question, yes that is indeed THE Lane Kim now helping our Kim :)

Brieanne

we have not seen it. we are considering it for future!

Random: does anyone know if they’ve seen the walking dead? They should definitely react to it if they haven’t watched it

Poor Tyrus... gets blown up along with Gus and absolutely forgettable lol

I don’t get why one would assume those words from Chuck to be fake and act like he didn’t love Jimmy anymore by the end. Yeah, Chuck was a jerk, but Jimmy wasn’t innocent either. That “You never mattered all that much to me” line felt more like something said out of anger and hurt, not the full truth. Chuck did care about Jimmy, but he couldn’t see past Slippin Jimmy. He focused so much on Jimmy’s bad choices that he ignored the good. Then Jimmy revealed in court that Chuck’s illness was mental, and that wrecked him. It made him feel like his pain wasn’t real and that he wasted years of his life not doing what he loves most, practicing law. And then Jimmy gets his rates raised up after that, making things even worse. To Chuck it emphasized one last time that Jimmy would never be fully trustworthy. He loved him deep down, but at that moment, he could only see this betrayal.

I think Kim got emotional at least partially at the total lack of emotion from Jimmy reading his brother's last message to him.

Forgot to say good catch Pudgey on Kaiko who played Layne on Gilmore Girls. GG is my favorite go to when I don't want anything heavy and it is still charming and witty after all these years.

Lyn Hurst

Ye, people often get so caught up in hating a character that they don't see what's really going on. Chuck's last words are like Walt's phone call to Skylar in BB 5x14, many people hated Walt so much that they didn't see that he was actually helping his family with that call.

I think Kim was upset at the end cos Jimmy read the letter with no hint of emotion whatsoever

For the second episode in a row, I find myself compelled to talk about Rhea Seehorn's performance. Regarding the scene at the end, Kim knows better than anyone what Chuck meant to Jimmy, how much Jimmy looked up to his brother and how much he loved him. For her to see Jimmy reading the letter like he's dictating it to a secretary (" ... new paragraph")., in such a monotone, cynical way, is devastating as she realises Jimmy is drained of emotion. As the old saying goes: The opposite of love is not hate, it's apathy.

I think it's pretty obvious that Chuck's last words were a lie. Yes he didn't liked Jimmy that much especially in the law. But saying that Jimmy did not matter to him? That's bullshit, every single action we saw Chuck take throughout the whole series was with Jimmy in mind. He was quite literally the only thing he thought about for 3 seasons. I think he said that because he had lost everything and had no possible next move but to throw that little jab at his brother. Also, it's no coincidence that he starts to spiral right after he said that, the guilt of everything he had done to his brother topped by that last hurtful comment just did it for him. During the episodes where Chuck was getting better for a bit, I heard some comments questioning what would Chucks life look like without his illness, like, would he still want to go after Jimmy? And to that I say: Going after Jimmy IS the illness. He got it when Jimmy became a lawyer and he started making moves against him. The illness it's literally just his guilt. And you cannot feel guilty for what you did to someone who "doesn't really matter that much to you"

Jimmy is 100% in cuckoo land at the moment ever since he found out Chuck killed himself because of the insurance thing which he caused. The man just blocked it, and every opportunity he gets to talk about Chuck he instantly shuts it down, he'll do anything else just to not think about Chuck. From the last couple of episodes I think it's pretty clear that this behavior is kinda pushing Kim away since she is also dealing with the guilt and has no one to talk to because Jimmy just won't have it. Also I think Spartan is right about the letter, even if he wrote it when Jimmy was in the mail room, he wouldn't have change it since he started loosing his mind when Jimmy became a lawyer.

Brutal episode for Nacho 😢. Kim's crying could have been over a number of things with Chuck's letter to Jimmy. She has been pretty upset about Chuck ever since the bar hearing. I remember she said to her client Paige if Mesa Verde that she felt they just tore down a sick person. Then Chuck dies and the horrible way he chose to go out has her and others (Howard and Rebecca) feeling somewhat guilty, but Jimmy is seemingly untouched by the whole thing. I think Kim is really worried about Jimmy. Not to mention we see him doing all these shady things in the wee hours she doesn't know about. He isn't coping despite his somewhat calm demeanor. Just my exposition.😏

Lyn Hurst

I'm really unsure how to take the ending of this episode - Chucks letter feels so emotionless and cold, like a farewell to a close colleague. It's interesting how overly emotional Kim got as he read the letter, contrasting how emotionless Chuck was and how Jimmy read/took it. I'm curious about what happens in the next episode if they address Kim breaking down like that or just leave it there. Either way, Rhea Seehorn (Kim) is a great actress and one of my favorite characters in this series.

Steven

The guy who breaks into the office to steal the bavarian boy is the boss of vamonos pest in breaking bad, the company Walt and Jesse start working with in season 5 where they use the houses for cooking meth. Think his name is Ira.
