Full Length Reaction Guide

We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.  Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.  Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.  Here are some popular ways people sync up the reaction with their own copy of the show:

The Pacific Episode 10 Uncut Reaction

This episode crushes me every single time. This series is 10/10 for me too. Thank you guys so much for sharing this experience with us, cried along with you :,) Can never forget what these men went through, in the air, land, and sea. Much love, thank you guys.

I’m glad to see you appreciate this series as much as you do. Yes, Band of Brothers was great. The Pacific is as good or better. I prefer The Pacific to BoB

Tim

god damn this episode crushed me

Christopher Lopez

Adrien Brody’s Oscar-winning performance in “The Pianist” is a must-see and based on a true story about the Holocaust. Brody remains the youngest person to win the Oscar for Best Actor at 29.

Agreed. Similar to The Pacific I was not as into MoTA until Ep 5 (which happened to be my favorite - and Ep 6 was also excellent)… I’ll keep it there. The Pacific is still my fav but they should definitely complete the trilogy.

The final episode and it’s one of the tough ones. So to add in some extra infos. Leckie never had the aussie girlfriend (sorry) but pretty much after the war he started talking to vera. So when we see sledge and the boys in the train they had spent 6 months in china as peacekeepers (this would lead Eugene to writing his second book china marine) So when they got home the initial happiness had passed and people were moving on but sledge had no problem with this. Seems alot of people are shocked by SNAFU not waking up Eugene but if you listen to vets talk and in the intros they say “the Japanese killed sleep” so to see his best friend getting probably his last good nights sleep better to not wake him up and of course not wanting to say goodbye The part of him going to college is pretty spot on and showed how tough it was for him and alot of vets The hunting scene almost played out like that but the break down happened after they had killer a bird In which wisely his farther recommended instead of shooting them he take pictures of them and this would begin his healing process Now i highly recommend you react to “he has seen war” i will link it (first one) it has both vets from band of brothers and the Pacific including their families and they talk about the difficulties returning home and how they began the process of healing, alot of reactors ask what they did and how they returned home and will this documentary explains some of that. It’s much like. “We stand alone” and i personally consider it the 11th episode the pacific. But its up to you guys if you make a reaction to it, but i still recommend a watch if you want to see more of the old vets https://youtu.be/McKV4PqapO8?si=2Q9n6JcE1WBi7yKq And heres a link to the intros of the Pacific, i highly recommend giving them a watch and reaction i know it’s alittle late but hearing tom hanks explain and seeing the old veterans talk adds so much to the series https://youtu.be/PzZnLNCCsXI?si=p0qgo9KvGr01uz_t

Yes it was done very well. They had several of the Marines portrayed in the series on set to help get all the small details right. One Marine even played himself in the series. Another thing I really like about GK is how apolitical it is. It doesn't make the Marines look like heroes or villains. It just shows some very grey area situations and forces the viewer to form his own opinions about them. This is very unusual for any GWOT screenplays that usually have an agenda behind them.

Ryan

Masters of the Air is worth reacting to. Whether that’s sooner than later, it’s really up to you two. I understand both sides of that; wanting a break from WWII era content and switching gears to something different. But also, MotA isn’t terribly long (to include its bonus/documentary episode). Even looking at BoB, The Pacific and MotA all rolled into one “set”, so to say, all 3 limited series combined are shorter than so many other shows out there. MotA is a high quality production that Spielberg and Hanks backed up and helped produce so that should speak for itself and warrant some trust in its quality.

Joe

This was indeed a good series, and it feels fairly realistic vs other productions that try to portray post 9/11 combat stories

Joe

It seemed like you always followed Lekie and Sledge because the series was based on their books. Great reaction guys.

Irby

Now that this series is over you should consider Generation Kill for your next war series. It's a 7 part series by HBO about the invasion of iraq in 2003.

Ryan

Overall, I like BoB more as a series, but this last episode kills me. People who haven't experienced war simply have no way to understand what these soldiers and marines went through.

John Neiberger

You guys should Check out masters of the air

Rob

I really loved this episode. The aftermath of being in a War and then going home where everyone is pretty much living the same life must be surreal. I really liked Eugene's character. He was so dedicated in the beginning that he ignored his doctor's and family's warnings about enlisting. It was nice to see Lecky get back with Vera. When Eugene broke down when he was about to go hunting with his dad, that was so moving. A lot of fathers back then would have told him to get it together and pull himself up by his bootstraps and "be a man". I was so glad his dad understood. Great episode to end the series. I enjoyed your reactions and seeing you all take in the very difficult circumstances the Marines fought in, the feelings of despair, and the shock when the war was finally over. I think it would have taken me some time to smell the flowers after coming home. Getting back to a somewhat carefree life after seeing all the people dying in combat would be so foreign.

Lyn Hurst

Try 1917 and All Quiet on the Western Front for some WWI movies.

ChimneyJim

Clint Eastwood directed two WW2 movies: “Flags of Our Fathers” & “Letters from Iwo Jima.” It shows the war from the American and Japanese perspective respectively during the Battle of Iwo Jima. Highly recommend for future reactions.

Rose

Personally I liked this more than band of brothers but it was still a great show

C. J. Ramirez

This episode was so emotional and moving. I really enjoyed watching this series with you guys! If you want to see more of Sid Phillips & Eugene Sledge - and learn about other unforgettable and powerful stories from WW2 - then I sincerely hope you guys checkout Ken Burns’ “The War.”
