Full Length Reaction Guide

We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.  Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.  Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.  Here are some popular ways people sync up the reaction with their own copy of the show:

its good to see you guys broadening your horizons. we've come a long way from when pudgey used to think every asian man looked like jackie chan.

Great and fun ride watching your journey! Still bawled my eyes out on a rewatch, it was def interesting to see it knowing about the old man

Sarah Stapleton

That movie is amazing

Eek I had a feeling you finished the season before you posted 1x8. So this is still marred with the failure to acknowledge that Front Man is the cop's brother. His scenes carry a bit more weight when you know this. Aaargh. Ah well. I'm among those who were skeptical of the idea of a second season and ended up loving it. Looking forward to that here at some point.

I think the wildest thing to me is that 455 people just died and their bodies will never be recovered, even though many organs would have been sold. It's messed up that the families of 455 people will never have closure of what happened to their loved ones.

I agree, my partner and I gave it a shot earlier this year and were immediately hooked by the first episode. Incredibly well written and gripping drama.

If you want a good Korean drama movie to react to, I very highly recommend The Man From Nowhere. It's one of my all-time favorite movies. It's technically an action drama and I'm not even a huge fan of action movies. This one is different. It's like a combination of Taken, Man on Fire, and Leon the Professional. It's superb.

- I like that Pudgey mentioned her previous bad experiences with korean acting, and how the acting was great in this series. Because it's exactly what I thought when I first watched this series 😅. In fact, the worst acting in this series were the VIP's 😅 - now, you asked about if there were any (other) good korean series. Well, K-drama's have become very popular, and it's a rapidly growing market. I've watched a decent amount of them and in my opinion, in general: 1. The acting is still a little bit awkward at times. This is a huge generalization of course. There are great korean actors/actresses, as well as bad western actors. That's why I would suggest you watch the movie "Parasite" first. So you can get even more acquainted with korean actors, but not yet a k-drama. Plus, it didn't win an Oscar for nothing 😏 2. They are usually DRAMA's, so there's usually quite a bit of romantics in them. Also, be prepared for even the plot twists to have plot twists 😅. 3. For some reason, Koreans seem to love hit-by-car scenes. They are used in sooo many k-drama's, it's almost a meme. But they can be triggering for Pudgey. My recommendations are: - Hotel Del Luna It's about a hotel that helps spirits to 'cross-over'. - It's Okay To Not Be Okay I think Pudgey will love this one, as she has an interest in psychology. This series is about (which I copied 😋): "A road to emotional healing opens up for an antisocial children's book author and an employee in a psychiatric hospital."

I was skeptical about the second season of Squid Game at first, but I ended up really enjoying it. But I agree with Stephen. It might make sense to wait for season three until reacting. There’s also another series that many, including myself, discovered after Squid Game. It’s not Korean but Japanese, and it’s called Alice in Borderland. Definitely worth checking out!

Thanks guys for this series of videos. Loved it! See you in the season 2 reaction ✌🏻

I believe the memory loss was a complete act, Oh Il nam has a very pessimistic view of humans. I believe he was confirming to himself that even someone as selfless as Gi-hun; would be willing to put himself before a friend, in a life and death situation. Thats what i got from re-watching the interaction anyway. As far as season 2, I really enjoyed it, but season 2 and 3 were filmed at the same time... as such it sort of feels like season 2 is half a season. It might be better to wait until season 3 comes out and watch them at the same time, it will drop in 2025.

Kdrama Kingdom on Netflix is amazing

Kyle Naylor

They were watching Outlander together offscreen I know that.

In response to your outro, I support watching season 2, which I've now seen. It is public information that there will be a season 3. You also asked about other k-dramas. Others will have experience there, but if you get into movies again, South Korea has several contenders. Two I will recommend for your taste are "Parasite" and "Train to Busan."

Aaah so happy you guys have gotten into k-drama. Would love it if u guys react to Vincenzo. Such a good show!

Naim

I am hoping we get to watch season 2. My first watch of a Korean series, and I was definitely impressed.

I watched this last episode a few days ago. It blew my mind with the old man. I did not have a problem with him not being dead, but the fact that he and his rich friends came up with these games as a way "to have fun." Insane. He was one of the investors betting on the players. I think Gi-hun is out for revenge based on the phone call he made to get into the next round of games and wanting to find out who these sick f*cks are. I thought it was brilliant the twist with the old man. In the end even though I liked him as a caring individual with Gi-hun. Fascinating, it seemed to me the old man was in a way grooming Gi-hun after he had partnered up with him in the games.

Lyn Hurst

The guy who closed the eyes of the old man is the Front Man, aka, the brother of the cop. I think I heard you guys say something in that scene that made me think you had a question about it. Also, I really hope the wonderful patreon members do not mention a word or syllable that hints to what is to come in Season 2! Not a peep, people! :)

I agree 💯 The Glory was recommended to me by a friend and the show is absolutely amazing. I hope they react to it on their channel

Tk Banks

Do you guys also/still watch series together without sharing reactions with the community? As in just something you share together? If you do then I recommend K-drama "the Glory." It is not popular/well known enough to do reactions on, but it is a very well written show (only 1 season, 16 eps) which I think you guys might enjoy. It is an award winning show with amazing acting/actors. Thank you for your great reactions so far!

Gi-hun is on a mission, people! What a wild ride, so intense, so brutal (I swear, I spent half the time peeking through my fingers), but i loved it. The old man... as you guys usually say: "sneaky sneaky snake!" The betrayal, the deception, i actually cried so much for him. Also, the Front Man (the dude with the black mask) is the brother and a past winner of the games. Honestly, this whole concept of setting up these games for "fun" is disgusting, but it makes for crazy TV. So many questions still hanging in the air, fingers crossed we get answers next season. This show was such a rollercoaster, and I am ready for Season 2 and bring on The Queen’s Gambit! . Much love to 💖
