Full Length Reaction Guide

We take copyright law very seriously, so you will have to sync up our reaction to your own version of the show/movie. To help, we have a range of guiding tools throughout the reaction to help you sync up with us, including a small snippet of the scene to ensure you are in sync.  Any instances in which you see the screen cut, this means we’ve had technical difficulties or have skipped a potential disruptions/bloopers. This means you will need to sync up your copy of the show again, if we are unable to edit these cuts seamlessly into the next scene. An updated timecode will be provided on the screen.  Anytime we pause, there will be timer/countdown on screen to prompt you. So if we’re about to pause, there’ll be a countdown, and you are expected to pause as the number reaches 0. The same will happen when we press play after pausing. You will press play as the number reaches 0.  Here are some popular ways people sync up the reaction with their own copy of the show:

A SPURS FAN? wtf Spartan. Thought you’d be a big club like Liverpool or Barcelona or something

No shade meant, but people do not just get over things like this without lots of support. Sure there are the pull yourself up by your bootstraps I never feel any emotional pain, but some of that is shaming to people who cannot " just get over it". It depends on the cause of the PTSD, the person, etc. Could go on but won't.

Lyn Hurst

She'll get over it. That's what we do. (She being Mike's daughter-in-law.)

Dónde está la biblioteca

It seems tacky and reminds me of the ambulance chasing stereotype of some lawyers.

Lyn Hurst

One could interpret the daughter in law’s behavior to be an attempt to manipulate Mike, into getting what she wants, namely, for Mike to do more, in terms of getting her and her daughter into a better living situation. Some people are good at playing desperate and frazzled.

N M

Saul never actually met Gus, the information was largely relayed via Mike/others.

SuddenImpulse

Its his nature. That's why Chuck was to "bear witness". He knows what his brother is like and as a viewer we know what road he goes down. Its up to us whether we like the main character or not. I personally think hes a bad guy trying to be "good". I'd talk more about my personal thoughts but I'd end up spoiling

AlrightThere

Indeed, I have only seen maybe like...12 law firms advertising in commercials in my entire life and they were usually small individual lawyers or a lawyer couple team that doesn't work with a firm.

SuddenImpulse

I think its because this season is where jimmy is most conflicted with who he wants to be. Still with one foot on the good lawyer Jimmy McGill persona and the other on the Slipping Jimmy persona. Whenever he commits to any of the two, his actions start to be more consistent.

Pablo

I work in law! A lot of firms do NOT advertise through commercials, preferring to do things like Chuck said: "Do good work, and work will come". Add that he didn't get permission, that would be a fire able offense for any real law firm!

Nice reaction as always guys! Next episode is amazing and, aside from a couple episodes in between here and the season finale, the pacing really starts to pick up towards the last episodes of this season and into the rest of the series Quick note, during breaking bad it was never implied that saul introduced mike to gus, actually every time Saul had to contact Gus he did it through Mike.

Pablo

Just a nice little link to BrBa, the pink wiggling pig toy Mike is putting batteries in in this ep is the same one Mike put over a door peek hole when someone was inside with a gun going to kill him, to distract them while he goes around the back.

lemmy

Not sure if you guys are misremembering from Breaking Bad, but Saul never actually met Gus and didn’t even originally know who he was. It was implied in Breaking Bad that Mike knew Gus first

Sean van Hengel

I mean Mike's perspective is from the place of guilt and responsibility he feels for his son's death. It's not necessarily logical but driven emotionally, which also I think fits nicely with something mundane like the newspaper delivery being revealed as the 'gun sound'. Mike wants to protect the family, but his guilt drives him to overcomplicate everyday situations and make illogical decisions (in this case simply telling he watched the house and about the newspaper) which similiar to Jimmy shows in Mike's case his struggle between being the 'good' criminal (protecting his family) and the 'bad' criminal.

Jasper

Many here will not recognize a fun thing in this episode. It is when the elderly woman was riding down her staircase, while Jimmy was in her living room, along with the two film students. She said, "I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. McGill." This is a throw back to a super famous line from the 1950 classic film, "Sunset Boulevard," starring the great Gloria Swanson as the aging and delusional movie star, Norma Desmond. In the film the line is, "Alright Mr. deMille, I'm ready for my close-up." Here is the clip. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVi1NlYBljU

Dónde está la biblioteca

This episode didn't work as well for me. First: It is not rational for Mike to take on dangerous life-threatening jobs to help his family move, if I understand correctly that this is his motive. The rational thing to do is tell his daughter in law that he was there that night and saw what caused the noise. Alternatively, he could tell her he WILL spend the night on the couch the next night so that he can verify the noise. Let me know if I missed something but I understand the noise was the sound of newspapers being delivered. Second: I think it is more plausible that when Jimmy was hired, the basics on what requires approvals by the partners would be included in his onboarding. In this case, running a commercial. I don't see an established law firm being lax in that area.

Dónde está la biblioteca

I am starting to get a little annoyed with Jimmy. Mainly because his actions affect Kim and Chuck. As much as Chuck can be a real pain, he does want Jimmy to stay away from that line he tends to slip and slide over. Because Jimmy has such a history of questionable behavior, Chuck can't let go of what he has seen in the past. Chuck does admire Jimmy for being able to charm people, a skill which Chuck lacks, but Chuck cannot let go of his grasp on how hard one must stick to the law to the point of the opposite of Jimmy's slipping away from it. I can understand what Pudgey was saying about Mike's daughter in law with the PTSD. It cannot be driven away with rational and logical points without a lot of walking through that in therapy, a support group, or other mental health professional to come to terms with it. It is a huge ordeal dealing with a fatal shooting of your husband and worrying about protecting her daughter.

Lyn Hurst
