So basically Viktor always wanted to correct his own weaknesses (his illness) and transferred this mentality to other people when he helped them with their own weaknesses. The way he chose to do this was by being extremely compassionate and healing everyone with the arcane. He thought he could build a society of perfect individuals without evil nature. When Jayce shot him, Viktor's mind changed. He came to the conclusion that humanity could never be healed and would always cause its own destruction (the speech at the end of ep6, when he said ''I understand it now, humanity''). Because of that, he went 180 degrees and decided the only way to save humanity from itself was to get rid of the humanity itself. That's why he finally accepted to let Singed transfer Vander's essence into him (which he refused at first in ep 6). He now aims to use the anomaly to extend his powers and transform everyone into those machines.

2024-12-25 02:48:51 +0000 UTCDue to the statement made by the showrunners at some point about the possibility of creating five seasons, but ultimately deciding to make only two (which they claimed was the original plan so they could do another series), there has been speculation that this change was driven by the high cost of producing all five seasons. Whether this is true or not, it gives the show a rushed feel, as you’ve likely already noticed. Just so you know and hopefully this doesn’t ruin it for you.
