After having watched both series, we can conclude that it's all about perspective. "BCS" gave the writers a chance to delve much deeper into some familiar characters by making them the primary focus.

This is one of my favorite episodes in the series. It gave me a much greater appreciation for Mike and an understanding of his character.

Jonathan Banks was stellar as Mike from the second he was introduced in season two of Breaking Bad. The guy deserved an emmy. Side note - I wanted his "No More Half Measures" monologue just now, and Brian Cranston kills that scene as well. His face when reacting to what Mike is saying is fantastic. That subtle terror.

The fact that Peter Dinklage won an Emmy for season 5 of thrones when he was up against this infuriates me to this day. Dinklage did a great job as Tyrion but nothing in season 5 compared to this performance.

I've never seen a team of writers so good at closing loops and giving back stories you never knew you needed...

Paul Walker

This episode gave me the backstory to appreciate Mike taking Jessie under his wing in a deeper way. Knowing he lost his son and longing for that connection again and trying to take care of Jessie. Ugh, love Mike and love this series

After you watch all of bcs, it makes Walter look like a crazy side character who comes in and fucks everything up 😂

Yup, Jonathan Banks is an absolutely stellar actor. And I love how we get to explore the personal lives & backstories of several of our favourite BB characters in BCS. Honestly, after seeing both series, I find the shows have kind of merged in my mind. Rewatching with you, I sometimes have to really stop to think: "Oh yeah, we didn't know about this in BB" (or vice versa). Because it's the same brilliant writers for both shows, the storytelling is so impressively seamless. I will be curious to know if you feel the same at the end of BCS.

Better call Saul get phenomenally better every season! This episode is definitely on the list of greatest episodes of the show

The final question to the daughter in law, “can you live with it?” Isn’t a “are you gonna tell on me,” it’s a legitimate expression of “it’s up to you to decide whether you can live with that knowledge and continue forward,” essentially giving implicit consent to simply do as she personally feels and he is completely ok with whatever she chooses. Basically just saying what happens next is up to her.

The new show Earth Abides in an apocalyptic drama/ thriller along the lines of The Last of Us. It stars Alexander Ludwig from The Vikings and the first two episodes have been really good. Might be an idea to react to it before everyone else gets wind of how good it is.
