A TV series you guys might wanna check out is "Rome" (2005) Its Game of Thrones before Game of Thrones. Very character driven, very strong production quality. Won a lot of awards but isn't well known today. And its set in the Ancient World which Spartan should love. This is the show that really cemented HBO's reputation for sex and violence. Aside from anything else, its a Who's Who of British TV. You'll recognise a lot of the actors. Even if you don't put names to faces.
