It definitely gave me a Hunger Games type of vibe towards the end especially seeing the roof closing at the end and then the outdoor type coliseum with the mountains on one side. I had the same theory with the stepfather possibly being involved with the English speaking and the talk of him getting a new job in the US. As soon as the salesperson was telling Ge-Yeung about the rules or maybe that was someone else later after they got there, I knew it meant real death if they moved after red light was called. I wasn't sure how the deaths would occur. I could see people on the outside not knowing about it. They gas them on the way so they won't see where they are going. The game wardens wear masks. The game controllers also had special suits on to preserve their anonymity as well. To outsiders it probably sounds like the stuff conspiracy theories are made of.

I'm sure you guys will check out the conversion between Korean won and AUS dollars but roughly 10,000 KRW is about 11 AUS dollars, and 1,000 000 KRW is about 1,100 AUS dollars. I think I remember hearing that this series took years to get off the ground until Netflix gave it the green light because the creator wasn't having any luck getting it made by other studios. I'm from England but it made me glad to know that in Australia kids also play "What's the time Mr Wolf?" it was one of my favourites on the playground.

2024-11-03 22:30:32 +0000 UTCExcited to see this! This show makes for great reactions :) Have to echo switching to English Subtitles instead of CC. Closed Captions are primarily for hearing impaired people, so they're written for a different purpose (they're based off the English dub, and dubs are always a bit of a compromise in translating because they have to change phrasing to fit in a specific amount of time, or to closer match to mouth movements, etc.) whereas the English Subtitles are based on the original Korean dialogue, so they're a better represenation of the original dialogue.

2024-11-03 21:43:31 +0000 UTCjust a side note, ive heard that people recommend using the normal English subtitles instead of English Closed Captions. apparently the english subs are the translated subtitles and the closed captions are the subtitles of the dub, so they won’t necessarily match what the characters are saying
