Tbf Tommy did say he only spoke to Moss the night before and was told that they was gonna be arrested so Tommy cooked up a deal with someone more powerful than what I’m assuming is the Odd Fellows who made the arrests happen. Unfortunately the arrests were gonna happen regardless and probably including Tommy so that’s why Tommy made a deal so at least he wasn’t in jail and he could come up with a plan to get them out. Tommy did tell them in a shitty way after giving them hope, but think that was partly down to him buying time waiting for the police to get there and obvs wanting to say what he needed to say. Also, Alfie’s speech was one of THE best scenes in the series!
