omg yes!!!

I think some of the larger themes are slowly being pieced together in the other seasons of the show. Even though they don’t have Rust and Marty in them, there is a through line of the series.

Malorie

The perp that tells Rust about the Yellow king. He was watched over by two officers. Rust asked for their files and the cop in charge named one of them as Childress. It's a family thing. The more you watch the more you pick up for sure lads

Richie Alan

Errol Childress was the killer, & his dad Billy was kept on the bed - as mentioned, after Hurricane Katrina, he could kill at will, was well educated, but most of the cult side had died off by 2012, & didn’t kill as publicly. Edwin Tuttle was now Senator & in a position to cover up their part in it - especially Billy Lee’s stolen video footage from years earlier. Another note - a Childress was one of the prison guards where the prisoner ‘killed himself’ so they silenced him. Marty knew at the end that they wouldn’t reach everyone in the cover up but that they played their part!

Jamie Neill

Woody harrelson and Matthew McConaughey might be half brothers. Matthews parents separated for a bit before Matthew was born and while they were separated Mathews mother got with Woody's Dad. Matthew hasn't wanted to get a DNA test though because he was really close with his father and he doesn't really want to know that the man he thought was his father isn't. Also Woody's father was a hitman so there is something to finding out that you're the son of a Murderer.

Nicholas R Huber

cohle is just such a savage

Logan Miller

I knew you were going to mention that you didn't get all the answers. That's part of the point of the show. They aren't going to end everything with a neat bow. Time is a flat circle.

Bythebook

Most of the Tuttle cult is dead and gone by this point. The leaders are dead and the cult ended sometime in the late 80s or early 90s. This is just an offshoot version with Errol doing his own thing with his friends Reggie and Dewall. The cult didn’t leave bodies in the open like the first episode. That is Errol going rogue and trying to carry on a family tradition. He was always an outcast of the family because he was from the illegitimate branch of the family. He was abused by them and scarred by his father. That’s why he had his dad tied to the bed. The remaining cult members were covering shit up because like Rust said, “they recognized the scene.” They just don’t want to be exposed for all the past killings. Most of your questions are either explained or alluded to in the show. You pick up more and more reveals on subsequent rewatches. I was also mixed, when I first watched the finale. I thought there would be a lot more cult conspiracy reveals, but I didn’t realize that most of them are dead by this point and the main killer from the first episode is just a rogue remaining family member doing his own brand of the religion. The continued to get better on every rewatch.

The Film Effect

One of the main thing I noticed on the rewatch is that there are Childress's, Ledoux's, and other branches of the Tuttle tree everywhere throughout the show. I think that's what makes solving the ultimate case about who's involved with that initial animal mask cult. There are some Childress in law enforcement that clearly enabled the killings but are now dead, and there are also perfectly normal branches of the family; like the cousin who owned the car shop.

Lewis Parker

Another vote for Mindhunter, it’s an amazing show. Also, I just realized that Tess from TLOU (Anna Torv) is one of the main characters!

Phil Davies

There is a lot of dark supernatural forces at play. In that part of America down south in louisiana there is a lot of play with dark forces a lot of mixing between the European, the Native and the African supernatural traditions. Don’t discount the mystical part of the show.

John

Please check out mind hunter! So so good

Jakesleepwalker

Mind Hunter is great just sucks they didn’t finish it.

Cody Sutton

Mindhunter needs all the attention it can get seriously

tyler barnaby

Just gonna say, I love when you keep the bloopers in the opening. Really can’t wait for the day we get a live reaction watch along.

BigTim86

A lot of the unexplained stuff is references to Lovecraftian stories or just nihilistic philosophy. Powerful unseen dark forces that could drive you mad, pervasive and many. Even getting the one guy nearly cost them their sanity and lives and he was just one part of a larger group. Dark stuff

crookedspin

Hey guys, looking forward to this last reaction. Don’t know if 19 episodes is too long for the short series slot but I’d love to see your reactions to the first two seasons of Mindhunter. Doubt it would get enough love as a main show but it’s excellent and I thought I’d throw it out there. Have a good one!
