Pudgey will be sobbing if they do end up watching it. I also agree with other people they need ghibli movies on there. Spirited away and princess mononoke being the obvious choices but a personal fave of mines is Porco Roso 🐷❤️

I’ll never forget the first time I watched it and bawled my eyes out, and I cry almost every time I rewatch it. It resonated so profoundly with me. I do not think any other piece of media has made me feel the emotions I felt from watching Your Name. Its my favourite movie of all time. Based on the current vibe of the channel, I sadly don’t see it being a popular choice.

2024-08-23 19:47:25 +0000 UTClet’s be real, there’s some classics here like up, incredibles and monster inc, toy story etc. however spider verse films smash them out of the park. the animation and story is far more complex and just higher quality. I get it though as the films listed before are classics that at beloved but in terms of quality it’s not comparable.

Most animations are geared towards Younger audiences with some adult themes and tbf I could care less about the animated genre lol , I was just naming some of the better ones and obviously Nobody wants grave of the fireflies bc it’s last .

Those you listed aren't bad movies (particularly Lion King) but they definitely trend towards younger audiences on the animation spectrum.

But "Across The Spider-Verse" is a visual masterpiece on a level that no animated movie has ever done before. Combined with the amazing story, it is easily one of the greatest movies of ALL time.

2024-08-23 01:40:12 +0000 UTCI think its just because its been mentioned a lot and since they haven't seen any of them they don't know the differences between them or what are ideal introductory/most popular ones. Fireflies is an appropriately very well regarded film, but its not ideal for a first ghibli film and as you mentioned, it also has that Schilndlers list type of issue of just being very emotionally hard hitting in a brutal, depressing way, some people are up for that, some aren't, so that probably knocks it down a little in voting numbers.

Great movie but so friggin miserable 😭 I do wonder why that's the only Ghibli movie that made it to this list though 🤔 Where's Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, etc.
