LOL just saw this Sudden, sorry for blaming you. Glad they did a poll and are going to watch the true og version when it wins. Music makes a huge difference in a movie, and the music in this DC just ruined it for me.

Its one of the WORST Director's Cuts ever made. Unfortunately it's the only version that Sudden Impulse has ever seen, so he's going to keep steering you guys in the WRONG direction.

2024-08-10 22:13:44 +0000 UTCI agree. Some of the action shots were hollywoodized for sure. But his actions weren’t. He actually did more in real life. I’d also love to see them react to Unbroken. Another true war story that no one usually reacts to for some reason. And that one has virtually no battle scenes in it. It’s more of a survivor story.

It went a little too Mel Gibson style action for me (personal thing), but thats really my only criticism of the film, overall I like it, and its more accurate than a lot of historical films (the court scene didn't happen for example but it makes the movie more enticing) even if some liberties are taken. The main thing they toned down is removing the sniper shot.

Most WW2 movies cover the exact same theater of conflict, which is unfortunate because its just one portion of a much larger war. One of the biggest casualty locations in the war in fact.

2024-08-09 00:06:08 +0000 UTCYou know, for a Greek themed channel, not having seen Troy is quite an oversight. I’ll be going to my local Greek place when you all do get around to it. Just know that many liberties were taken with the source material (the Iliad). If you two have not seen Alexander either, that could be another good one. It came out sometime after Troy, and while maligned, could be a good time. I won’t say it laid the groundwork for 300 (2007), but the two battle scenes that it does do are worth sitting through the rest of it in my opinion.
